Jaslicking Seafood Boil, Kent

“First time having seafood boil, Jas-licking was the destination to break the virginity, lunch time meal, greeted by Spiwe, shown to table, and given menu, went for Queen Platter with jas sauce, young lad delivered it to table, opened bag, tipped into bowl, the smell was great, food was delicious, left with a nice tingle on the lips, no room for pudding though. Decorated plain n simple, simple menu, lovely staff, excellent food, would definitely be back, thank you.”

Booked a table for last Sunday at 4pm. We had an amazing experience, the staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. It was the 2 of us and let me tell you, the £65 boil was more than enough for us so it was really good value. The Jas sauce was so good with just the right amount of garlic and kick to it. We only had soft drinks but all drinks were reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the music, especially the Zimbabwean music. I would recommend anyone to try this place, we needed something like this in Kent. I am already planning my next trip ☺️. Thank you so much for the lovely experience, keep up the good work!

We thought we'd try this place on a quiet Thursday evening and I am so glad we did. The service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was honestly out of this world. We tried the Queen platter and everything was so well cooked and full of flavour. The lobster tail was the highlight for me, and Jas sauce was delicious. I can't wait to go back already 🤣

Went there on my birthday and it was amazing. Such a great atmosphere, there was only one server/chef and he was so helpful and so kind. The food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend, never drop this standard

The food here is so flavoursome! We absolutely loved getting stuck into the seafood with all the tools and gloves and bibs. There’s a really nice mixture of seafood/sausage and corn and potatoes so it’s a well rounded meal. We had a queen bowl between two of us, we probably could have eaten just a little more but it is a really decent portion. There aren’t a lot of side options so maybe some better sides would help to complete everything. The food blew us away but the service let us down a bit. We were a group of 8 so I appreciate that it’s a big table but there was only ever one other table of 2 in at the same time as us. It took forever for us to get drinks and a lot of them just didn’t come out so we had to keep asking. There was also ads playing in between the playlist which was awkward! The restaurant is really quite basic, there’s not a lot of colour or design to it but the food is amazing so I would definitely recommend it! It’s also just really nice to see something a bit different and independent in Maidstone.

“Wife left me to my own devices for the evening, so I decided to give this place a try. The decor unashamedly makes no effort to be bland and neutral - nor does the jukebox - which really sets the scene for what the food is like. If you order cheesy chips, don’t expect 9 chips in a tiny metal bucket, with a delicate wafting of cheese curds - what you’re getting is a small mountain of chips buried under a blanket of gooey cheesey gloriousness! And as for the burger….. Look at it, just look at it. Double beef patties, double layer of sausage, and just because why the hell not - bacon. The food was amazing, and everything a burger should be. It was dense, hefty, flavoursome, and immensely satisfying. Great choice of craft beers to wash it down with too - I opted for a NEIPA that paired really well with the beefy flavours. I’ve been here for a cheeky mid-week burger on my own, and with a big group on a Saturday night for a few drinks, and always felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. Happy to reconnected it, whether you’re eating or not.”

“I had dinner with my friends here and it was brilliant. The food was all delicious and hot, we had seven dishes between three of us and two side plates of bread and it was just right! Lovely and friendly service, and the building itself is absolutely beautiful. It has a real family restaurant feel to it and the tables are decorated beautifully. I will definitely return here.”

“We couldn't fault the food. It was freshly cooked and as we reordered, it wasn't served until we arrived, which, 1) was a pleasant change, and, 2) meant it stayed hot until we got home, 6 miles away, through bendy country roads. The servers were polite, greeted me with a smile, that made me feel welcome. Definitely worth a visit, and, they won't break the bank either.”

“This place is great for lunch the food is always cooked well and there is a good variety on the menu and well priced. We had the burger and the chicken sizzler with noodles. Really tasty, will be going back again. We did book as it does get busy especially at the weekends, during the summer they have a big garden that you can sit out in. Lovely place worth a visit.”

“We were greeted by a kind and smiling waitress who escorted us and presented their menu. She recommended a board with meats for three or four people. We were pleasantly surprised. Our dish was out of this world- Big Mixed Grill. It was amazing. The restaurant inside is spotless clean and smells fresh. Highly recommended!”

“Found this place luckily as near to my first job the next day . Great first impression and warm welcome , unfortunately didn’t have the evening meal although the menu looked amazing. Greeted the next morning by a lovely friendly lady who sorted me out with the help of the kitchen staff with the best sausage and bacon sandwich I’ve ever had and a takeaway coffee. Only wish I had time for the full English sit down . Perfect end to a most luxurious overnight stay in what I can only say as my ideal posh pub with fabulous rooms . Will stay again for leisure purposes. Thanks to all again”

“It was a nice experience. We only went to the restaurant for food and didn't stay in the rooms so cannot comment on those. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was really quick. The food was presented nicely, tasted good, and portions were a good size. There was a varied menu so you could find something to eat for most dietary requirements. It was a tad on the expensive side in my opinion, which is why the rating is 4/5*. We went for the 5 plates for £32 between 2 of us which was a good amount of food. There was lots of free parking available. Inside the restaurant was clean and rustic. Quite pretty with the decor. There is a nice outside area too. It was busy but not too loud that we couldn't hear what members of our group were saying. There were kids there so I'd say yes it's family-friendly.”
