“It was a welcoming and wonderful experience, I planned a surprise dinner for my partner with friends. Gabe helped me out big time, pulled off the surprise and helped set up the table with decorations. The restaurant was beautifully presented, and the cocktails were amazing! Thank you for making the experience memorable, Gabe 🙌🏾😁”

“We went to La Cabana on graduation day, and we were lucky that they had tables free for us and seated us very quickly. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The food was really tasty and great portion sizes! The atmosphere was great, with a nice intimate restaurant with great music. “Went there for dinner tonight and was very happy with my whole order and service. The food was honestly great, found no fault with it whatsoever. The Foundry Brewpub - Canterbury Brewers and Distillers
77 Stour St., Canterbury CT1 2NR, UK
Phone: 01227 455899
“The Foundry Brewpub is a good option for a Saturday afternoon. Perfectly acceptable, really. The food? Decent enough and good value for what you get. But here’s the thing—it just felt like it was missing that little spark. You know, the vibe that makes you want to settle in for a few hours and soak it all up. The atmosphere was a bit flat for my taste, but maybe I caught it on an off day. It’s certainly not unpleasant, just not exactly brimming with character. However, there’s one thing that will definitely leave an impression—the toilets. Oh yes, the mysterious “combo trap.” I won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say navigating the facilities here is an experience in itself.”

Bill's Canterbury Restaurant

“A lovely restaurant with a bar and different combinations of seating type allows you to experience a different type of cosy get-together around the table. There is an upstairs area that I did not see and will try this area upon my return sometime. The food was of very good quality and was nicely presented on the plate. The service was very quick and politely done, and orders were dealt with very well by our waiter. The atmosphere was nice, and the decor a little bit off the wall, sort of industrial, i would say? I was disappointed when I ordered a drink with Brandy in it and was surprised they didn't stock it and had to settle for a whisky instead. I do have to say the bottled IPA was absolutely delicious and had a lovely hoppy, fruity tang to it, which went great with my beef burger! Outside seating available for fine weather conditions on the street, the pavemented side looks great at the entrance. There are toilets available in this establishment. Overall, it was a good evening out and a very nice experience in the restaurant in the Canterbury town centre.”

Chapman's

“We came for our wedding anniversary on a Friday night. We were the only ones here, but the service and the atmosphere was very nice. We had the tuna tartar and the scallops, followed by roasted hake fillet and monkfish wellington. All of the fish courses were full of flavour and good size portions. The winner for me was the monkfish. The desserts were also really tasty. The chocolate delice tasted like proper real chocolate but the cinnamon bun takes the cake. The portions are generous. I think the main courses are well priced, starter and dessert on the higher end of the spectrum. But the food is worth it. Will definitely come back again!”

Cafe du Soleil

“Went to Canterbury and found this lovely restaurant by the river. Sat outside and all I can say is wow. Special set menu Monday - Friday in the day, very reasonable for the quality. Had one of the best beef carpaccio’s I’ve eaten (best was in Paris) and then a cracking nduja/salami wood fired pizza that I only just finished… shame to waste amazing food. One of the nicest menu’s I’ve seen in a while… fancied everything. The service also gets a special mention (lady with the smile and braces) couldn’t have done more for us and you can tell they had been trained well. Highly recommend if you come to Canterbury… inside good vibes and good music. Best to book especially at weekends. Happy Eating :)”

“We stayed up the road from this lovely, old and quirky village pub. The food was amazing and the service excellent. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and didnt feel out of place there with the locals. The lady behind the bar in particular was so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. We would highly recommend this pub either for a drink or to eat if you are staying in the area.”

The Cook's Tale Restaurant

“We had a wonderful lunch at The Cook's Tale Restaurant in Canterbury! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Asher, our host, who was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure our dietary requirements were carefully addressed and guided us through the options. We opted for the Meat and Vegetarian Thali, and both were absolutely delicious — full of vibrant flavors and beautifully presented. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. During our meal, Chef Alfie came over to check on us, asking if we were enjoying our food and if we had any feedback. It was a lovely personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. The restaurant itself had a cosy, festive atmosphere, with Christmas decorations adding a warm touch to the environment. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, with excellent food, great service, and a welcoming ambience. Highly recommended!”

El Sol Tapas Bar & Restaurant
7-8 Sun St, Canterbury CT1 2HX, UK
Phone: 01227 467716
“This restaurant is great with lovely Tapas and a very cosy feel. Really enjoyed the octopus, the chorizo and fab padron peppers. Took 1 star off as when it's busy, it's a bit tight for space. Our table on 15th November was right next to the bar area where everyone waits for their table. Try the food though!”
