Such a little gem to find! Despite us having confused the date we booked we were warmly accommodated by the team, even though it was a very busy evening! The food was delicious and the hosts were so welcoming. We will definitely be coming back!

One of the best meals we have ever eaten. Everything was fresh, served hot and absolutely delicious. The wasabi-mayo and crispy prawn bao bun with fresh mango was incredible. Best pan-asian food I've ever had.

I've been desperate to try this place for a while now. Popped in on my own today. Really warm welcome, lovely staff, really tasty food. I had the halloumi fried rice which I did wonder about, it was amazing. With the steamed veg (so fresh) amd vegetable dumplings. An amazing lunch.

The Plough and Barn at Leigh
Leigh Rd, Hildenborough, Tonbridge TN11 9AJ, UK | Wedding Venue P: 01732 832149
Rating: 4.7 (614) Price Level:
Delightful old pub in Leigh. Very welcoming host followed by a superb lunch. We drove there from Tonbridge, but it would make a great stop after a nice walk. Thoroughly recommend a visit here.
Rating: 5 / 5
Did a mini pub crawl missus was driving so all OK tried The little brown jug first, as an observer looked like good food coming out but very pricey £23 for cod n chips I don't think so, went to The Greyhound next even more expensive and the food didn't look great tbh. On to the Plough excellent reception from the guy behind the bar really welcoming and friendly, good knowledge of the available ales and happy to give a small sample ( helped as I found a really nice ale). Menu reasonably priced we weren't really hungry so just had the open roast beef and horseradish sandwich with chips, both excellent, can't speak for the rest of the menu but we will be back soon to try a more substantial meal. The guy from behind the bar (used to work polehill nursery) and the other member of staff were super friendly and a credit to this pub, of the three pubs all within 5 mins of each other this is the one. A***

Della, Becky and the whole team at the Plough delivered an unforgettable wedding day for us in September. From our first meeting they made a very stressful experience seem like nothing was an issue or too much trouble putting us at ease throughout. The venue itself looked beautiful, rustic and elegant which is exactly what we had in mind. The food was exceptional and we had lots of choice for the day. The day itself ran like clockwork, even with them having to deal with a slight delay. Any extras we wanted I.e specific wines or a gazebo putting up was never too much trouble for them and they were very accommodating to all our wishes. Thank you!

My husband and I got married at The Plough in April and could not have wished for a better experience. We loved the pub and barn from our first visit - it was perfect for us. The experience just kept getting better - the planners are incredibly organised, the staff on the day were so friendly, and THE FOOD. So many of our guests commented afterwards on how good the food is! The venue is beautiful, regardless of whether you get sun, rain or snow and they set everything up exactly as asked. I cannot recommend them enough and THANK YOU to the whole team for ensuring our special day was one we'll remember forever. We'll be back for our anniversay!

Nice relaxed country pub tucked away down a country road with decent ale on tap and reasonable food options ( lovely roast beef open sandwich and good soup!) - stopped here for refreshments and light lunch on a walk. Nice garden out the back with a small play area. Closed on Saturdays for weddings

The Causeway Hall - Chiddingstone Causeway Arts and Social Centre
Tonbridge Rd, Chiddingstone Causeway, Tonbridge TN11 8JS, UK | N/A P: 07597 271974
Rating: 4.7 (17) Price Level:
We hired the hall for my wife's birthday recently; as a new build it is fitted out immaculately with everything you could possibly need. We had 80 guests sat comfortably around tables with plenty of space for dancing later on. The natural church-like acoustics were a bit of a challenge early on for our band, but once the place filled up it sounded excellent. We would definitely consider the Causeway Hall for any similar events in the future.
Rating: 5 / 5
We hired the hall for a celebration of life we had for a member of the family. We couldn't be more happy with the day. It has recently been painted and has lots of useful extras which are perfect for partys.

Amazing place for a birthday party. Enough parking, modern facilities and a huge hall to play with. Definitely recommended!

Great place to hold meetings. Large hall and toilet facilities. I've only been there twice and not that local to me so not sure what else is on offer there. Both times have been very clean and tidy.

Hever Rd, Hever, Edenbridge TN8 7NH, UK | Pub P: 01732 862457
Rating: 4.5 (1492) Price Level:
Visit this pub regularly, it’s about a 20 minute walk from Hever train station. Amazing historic building and right next to Hever Castle. The beer is always fantastic, they have a good selection of ales available and a variety of bar snacks. The staff are always friendly and there’s never a wait to be served at the bar. As of now I’ve never eaten here, but the food always looks good. Prices are reasonable too. The beer garden is a sun-trap, perfect on a summer day.

We had the pleasure of visiting this incredible pub on Bank Holiday Monday, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Despite arriving with a group of nine without a reservation, we were seated promptly, which was a wonderful start to our experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. Our food arrived in good time, and we were thoroughly impressed by the presentation – every dish was beautifully crafted. And yes, the taste lived up to the appearance – absolutely delicious! If you find yourself near Hever Castle, I highly recommend stopping by this pub for lunch. The beer selection is fantastic, with a great variety of ales available. With ample parking, it's a convenient and delightful choice for a meal. Overall, I would rate our experience a perfect 10/10.

Stunning pub set close to Hever Castle. We had their turkey dinner which was totally amazing! Great service and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back when we visit the UK. It’s also a must see around Christmas!
Rating: 5 / 5
Great pub with fantastic layout and atmosphere. Best place to eat when in the Hever area. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on dining in. Live the area towards beer garden. Impressive interior . Staff were cool and friendly approach. Btw thats the only pub in area which has a long history same like Hever Castle.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is a pub and restaurant you have to visit when you visit Hever Castle or are in the area. It’s just a short scenic walk from the castle grounds and everything about it is notable. The candle lit tables and fireplaces in the pub and restaurant areas of the iconic building make for a cozy atmosphere to have a great evening out. When the weather is nice, there is patio seating as well. The food and drinks are great and we love the staff! We’ll see you on our next family trip from the US.

Another lovely walk around the castle, tea and scones in the cafe are lovely. Staff in village store very friendly and welcoming. My dog enjoys the visit...and the treats he is given!! Such a peaceful beautiful village..
Rating: 5 / 5
A lovely old village. I'm looking forward to the pub re-opening so I can return for lunch
Rating: 4 / 5
I just stopped there for a few minutes, visited the church and its surroundings.
Rating: 5 / 5
Beautiful little one street village. Despite living just a few miles away, I had never visited before so glad I got the opportunity to do so. Parking in the village is free, although on busier days it may be better to park at the castle. A nice cosy tearoom hides down one alley (they make great cake), and a lovely country pub is by the pedestrian entrance to the castle. The buildings themselves are gorgeous, the sort of buildings you would imagine an English village to look like. There's also a church you can visit, we were lucky enough to be the only people inside so it was very serene. Make sure you check out the village's namesake, tucked away down an alley so it's easy to miss! The view from the top is beautiful and looks put over fields. If you're as lucky as we were you'll also catch birds of prey flying overhead.

3 Speldhurst Hill, Speldhurst, Tunbridge Wells TN3 0NN, UK | Pub P: 01892 338549
Rating: 4.6 (527) Price Level:
We visited on a Thursday lunchtime to eat. A very friendly welcome and we were given a choice of tables to sit at. We ordered our drinks, were given menus and told they would bring our drinks to the table. The food menu was excellent and it was difficult to make a choice. We decided to share a starter and they kindly brought two plates. There were three female staff, all dressed neatly in black, who all provided an efficient and friendly service. All of our food was excellent and came promptly. The pub is very interesting with lots of nooks and crannies and a superb great hall above the bar. An extensive patio area to the rear.

Very impressed. Went for a glorious Saturday morning stroll accompanied by our dog and had fabulous time. Ordered a beautiful cappuccino aswell as an expertly crafted bacon bap. Perfectly cut and cooked bacon and don’t even get me started on that bread roll. Remarkable and unbeatable to say the least. Will be back.

An absolute delight! Didn’t expect to find such a spacious and cozy place for a Sunday lunch cum outing. A good food & drink menu (love their crepes!), and staff is cheerful and seem to enjoy their work. Highly recommend.

Very nice and relaxing. Discovered by mistake , we don't know much around as fairly new to the area, but this place for us is a big win. Breakfast is very hummy. Portions are generous, so be hungry! You can walk around, and they have classes going on, too. Defo coming back.

The Rock Inn

Rating: 4.7 (479) Price Level:
Love it! - What a fabulous pub. We had Sunday lunch for 6 served family style, two roast shared in the centre of the table with plenty of trimmings. The beef rib was incredible and (not a usual fan of lamb) was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, unhurried and cheerful even though they were unexpectedly down a couple of staff. Pub is small but thoughtfully decorated with a log burner and two of the most enormous but chilled pub dogs. A wonderful find....will be back for sure
Rating: 5 / 5
Great pub, food and staff. Really nice ambience. Dropped in for a light lunch and couldn't be happier. Highly recommended; two of the best pub dogs you will ever meet!
Rating: 4 / 5
Just stopped by on my cycle ride for a pint & some crisps, still, the young lady that served me did so with a lovely smile. Cute little pub, in peaceful surroundings & a chilled out atmosphere. There's seating outside at the front & beer garden to the rear. Will hope to return in the near future to try their food &, hopefully, give them five stars!
Rating: 5 / 5
A great pub. Booked for a Christmas lunch with friends. We had the big table in the window by the fire. A really chilled atmosphere, brilliant food and very attentive staff. We had the Beef, Pork and Lamb sharing roasts which gave more than enough food for the 7 of us. Everyone commented on having such a pleasant afternoon.

Delicious! Generous portions. Local produce. Beautiful rural location. What’s more to want?!
Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely gastro pub, with typical dishes of the British cuisine. The pub has been renovated in early 2024 and it's wonderful! The staff is really polite and accommodating and it's a nice and cozy environment with a vast assortment of beers and ciders. They also have some good alcool free beers!
Rating: 5 / 5
A great meal. All 3 courses were tasty and well cooked. Perfect sized portions. Service was friendly but professional. Our waitress even pointed out the discretionary 10% that had been added on. First time I've had it mentioned. Normally it feels like they are trying to slip it in unnoticed. I will definitely be going back.

Great pub after a long walk from Leigh. Amazing food and such good portion sizes. The mixed roast is a great choice. Very nice staff too.

The Kentish Hare
95 Bidborough Ridge, Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells TN3 0XB, UK | Bar P: 01892 525709
Rating: 4.7 (381) Price Level:
I was taken to the Kentish Hare for a birthday Sunday lunch. The food at this restaurant was very high quality. I had yellowfin tuna tartare starter which came with watermelon, avocado and orange ponzu, it was divine. For a main course my son-in-law and I shared a roast beef dish and I finished with Bramley apple crumble. My wife and daughter had fishcake followed by roast lamb and then Amalfi lemon parfait. The main course came with a selection of perfectly cooked vegetables. There was a good and varied wine menu and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. I had the non-alcoholic passion fruit martino shown in the picture. It was all delicious. The portions were generous and the service was friendly, efficient and quick. The atmosphere was relaxed and we could see the chefs working in the open kitchen. I will be returning frequently.
Rating: 5 / 5
An excellent meal with fantastic service. A treasure in Kent. Extremely creative menu, without the fuss. My wife had the monk fish and I had the deer - and they were to die for.
Rating: 5 / 5
The dining area is a beautiful space that can soak up both large parties and couples without too much noise. The lunch menu is very good value with everything cooked to perfection. Service was excellent too.
Rating: 5 / 5
We went for Sunday lunch and ate in the bar (same menu) as we had our dog with us. Food was excellent, very nice presentation, good quality ingredients and tasted great. Service was friendly and good. The whole place was as smart and clean. Highly recommend and we will definitely be going again.
Rating: 4 / 5
Saw this recommendation on the Michelin website as a Bib Gourmand. High quality food at a cheaper price point than a Michelin Star. We went for a Sunday Lunch. Place was very busy and we booked online a while in advance to secure a spot. Walk-ins are welcome but at busy periods you might be disappointed in not getting a seat. Decor and atmosphere were very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice and cosy pub. Of course, the food was excellent. We had 1 minor issue with a hair in one of our starters which is why I rated it 4 stars. Stuff like this happens even in the best of places. I would go back as I think this is a one off. Apart from that, everything was great. Portion sizes for the roast were generous and the side of veg was huge. The quality of the food is amazing, everything is fresh and flavourful. You can really tell that they use high quality ingredients to get started. Plating is very pretty too if you are into that. We paid £40 per person for a 3 course Sunday lunch. After drinks and service charge it was just over £210 for a group of 4.
