I have a child diagnosed with ADHD. Richard was accommodating, a pleasure to deal with, friendly and professional and my kid bounced into every lesson with a positive attitude. I genuinely couldn’t recommend Richard enough. I’d give him 10 stars if I could. Oh and he got my kid to pass the Kent test with flying colours. Will definitely return to try to get my younger kid to also be tutored by him in the coming years.

My children are really enjoying their classes with Mary. They find her explanations clear & easy to follow. They love the notes she takes during the class. This helps them concentrate during the lesson and go back over things afterwards when they need to apply what they have learnt. Mary has a great balance of being warm and friendly yet firm enough that the children listen and know they are to take their studies seriously if they want to progress and achieve. Mary really knows her subject so well and we feel very blessed for our children to be learning from such a great teacher.

Mary has been amazing with our son. Her firm but compassionate approach has not only improved his grades drastically but his confidence has rocketed. Having lessons with Mary has been really helpful. She is knowledgeable about the syllabus and what will be expected and has given concrete advice about how the children can improve their writing. I cannot recommend Mary highly enough. We originally asked her to help our son with English Language because we were concerned that his grades were continually falling over time. However, her tuition also helped improve his English Literature work in the process, and they ended up being his two highest GCSE grades. Mary was friendly and professional throughout and we could see a noticeable improvement in our son’s ability and confidence in the subject from the start.

We cannot speak more highly of her exceptional teaching ability and particular skills in enhancing exam technique. Emma was always consistent in her ability to teach English to a very high standard whilst motivating our child to thrive in the subject. This resulted in our child achieving five marks below the maximum grade 9 in their GCSE exam. We think this speaks volumes of the standard and expertise that Emma provided and we would definitely recommend her as a tutor.

I’ve had many English tutors throughout my GCSE studies but Emma has by far been the best one, she has helped me increase my grades in English by an incredible 5 grades in the short time she taught me (from my year 10 mock to my actual GCSE’s!). Emma gave me great advice on how to approach exam style questions including how to efficiently answer questions. Emma was able to identify exactly what I struggled with in English which I didn’t even know my self and worked on that issue which ultimately lead to me getting a grade 8 in English language. Emma is such an incredible teacher I would highly recommend her lessons!

So pleased with the tutoring my children receive at Kip McGrath Canterbury. Since joining in July my son and daughter have progressed a huge amount. At the end of half term my daughter received the Head teachers award for progress made which I believe was thanks to the consistent support received at Kip McGrath Canterbury. My daughter’s confidence has grown, now she tackles tasks which she would have been too scared to attempt. My son has just moved onto secondary and the classes really help him to build up his confidence and knowledge in his weaker areas. Mr and Mrs Awan are also very kind, approachable, helpful and provide a calm supportive environment for children to learn. Kip McGrath Canterbury is an excellent choice for flexible tutoring and I am so pleased I made the choice for my children.

Both of my children have had an absolutely fantastic experience with Mr and Mrs Awan. They were caring, kind and encouraging and our children loved going. Our initial reason for going was to help them with their general school work. At Kip McGrath they got the individual attention that they needed to improve and were also gently nudged to make sure that they pushed out of their comfort zone to achieve more than they thought possible. Leesa tutored both my sons for the Kent test, the eldest remotely during a Covid lockdown. They both passed with flying colours. She made sessions fun and motivating, with rewards like sweets or little toys at the end of each session (delivered to our doorstep during lockdown!) and mini competitions between her pupils over a number of sessions for bigger prizes. I would highly recommend Leesa to other parents looking for Kent test tutoring for their child.

Very approachable and flexible tutors with whom our daughters studied mainly maths during Years 10 and 11. They always listened to the girls' maths/science anxieties and gave them confidence. Their approach is to teach methods and offer exam practice so our daughters had lots of different types of help. Always happy to go over mock papers they had done in class. They really did make a difference to their grades.

A really thorough quiz which considers a variety of science terms and processes as part of the multiple choice, encouraging further learning or checking when the answers are revealed at the end of the test. Accessible, friendly and enjoyable. Just enough questions around the specific topics, enough to not become overbearing or confusing. Although I think that for GCSE, it may need to be a bit more challenging. Maybe there could be challenging levels to select and pass as part of the quizzing. Thank you.

My son finds school a little tricky but having a quieter, encouraging environment at RP Tutoring he really is improving. Richard provides regular and helpful feedback on my sons progress and focuses on areas he finds more difficult rather than all of the curriculum. This really is beneficial as it does not waste time on areas he is strong at.

Both my son and daughter have had tutoring with Richard and I can not recommend him highly enough. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable on the different areas of the curriculum and 11+ but he also has a way of making the children believe in themselves, giving them the confidence they need to succeed. Richard has been a fantastic tutor for my Daughter, who is shy, nervous and was very reluctant to go to a tutor! Richard was amazing at putting her at ease from the off, creating a positive learning environment, tailoring to her needs and making it fun. She originally saw him to give her confidence in her maths and English and then progressed to 11+ learning and she came on leaps and bounds. She looked forward to going every week! I wish he had been tutoring when my Son was doing his 11+ as we tried all the usual tutors in Ashford (large group sessions, using computers, 1:1) and none were as good.
