My daughter loved the fact that on the first day she was given her own tuition satchel and stationary. Ilse was so lovely and understanding of every families own personal circumstances and very supportive. Both of my children attended weekly classes for about a year in the run up to the 11+. I think both of them benefitted a lot from the classes. It really helped them understand what to expect from the test and how to prepare for it, and get used to the style of questions. Thoroughly recommended.

Update- I had no hesitation enrolling my boys at RTC following the success they had with my first. Maria was brilliant with them and gave in-depth feedback every week. I particularly liked the weekly feedback and the methodical approach to covering all the required topics across a range of subjects. Also the mock exams were apt opportunities to discuss strengths and weaknesses and agree steps forward to fill the gap. Paul is professional and is focussed on planning the lessons by identifying my son’s needs. Teacher Paul is a Master of Teaching. My 13-year-old daughter is a big fan of Paul. One class in year 9 math made her realize how easy it is to grasp the essence of mathematical reasoning. One class on Victorian history inspired her to spontaneously commenced a interesting project of her own. She googled the Chinese chronology, did some research, and drew a series of clothing styles corresponding to each era. One month of preparation for the entrance exam gave her the opportunity to enter her dream school! It was teacher Paul who gave my daughter the confidence to make things happen.

Paul has been working with our daughter on maths GCSE for the past couple of months with the aim of getting her from a grade 2/3 to a grade 4. The progress she has made has been remarkably, we await to see what grade she gets, but I have no doubt had we had more time she would have been able to have got a grade 5/6. She really enjoyed the lessons and found the way Paul teaches maths made a very difficult subject seem normal. Paul showed an understanding and caring approach towards our daughter with the normal day to day pressures that a 15-year-old kid is under with exams looming. Grand tutors is an excellent tutoring school. My son attended the school for only 7 weeks during the Summer holiday, and then went on to pass the 11 plus with a high score. Very approachable and flexible tutors with whom our daughters studied mainly maths during Years 10 and 11. They always listened to the girls' maths/science anxieties and gave them confidence. Their approach is to teach methods and offer exam practice so our daughters had lots of different types of help. Always happy to go over mock papers they had done in class.
