I have used Mr and Mrs Marmood for my 2 boys. The service they provide is second to none, communication is excellent. Both my sons have said the lessons are individualised focusing on their areas of development. The tutors are always prepared and very patient.

Professional and personal service. My daughters look forward to their science and maths lessons every week. The teaching is reflected in their excellent results at school.

Being relatively new to Kent I found the whole selective system and Kent Test process somewhat overwhelming, but Jeni completely demystified it and made it all feel more manageable. Our son not only didn't complain about her tutoring sessions but actively looked forward to them! We were quite late to discover Jeni but I'm so grateful we did - she's been an absolute game-changer and I can't recommend her enough.

A rare find; if you are looking for a reputable tutor, I cannot recommend Sunnydene enough! I have complete faith in Jeni’s understanding of the system and test papers. My son really enjoyed the sessions with Jeni and they gave him lots of confidence. By the time it came to doing the Kent test, he was looking forward to it. Jeni gave lots of helpful information to the children and adults on the process and what to expect. The opportunity for my son to do a mock kent test was really helpful too and put him at ease.

I would highly recommend Jeni from Sunnydene! My daughter was preparing for the Kent test and my friend had recommended Jeni for Mock tests (we already had a tutor by this point). The mock tests ran very smoothly, the feedback was very helpful and valuable. We focused on the feedback provided and the second mock test result showed a massive improvement on my daughter’s scores! We then had some sessions during the summer holiday to get ready for the final day. My daughter passed the Kent test! I would like to thank Jeni for all the feedback and help she provided. Maria has done a brilliant job of improving my child’s confidence in maths and writing. Her friendly approach meant she quickly built a positive relationship with a naturally shy child. The sessions were well planned and appropriately challenging. I was always given feedback and knew what was being worked on. My child looked forward to the sessions which were fun and engaging.

Maria is an absolutely amazing tutor. My daughter started home education and when she left school, was on year 6 work, within the year, Maria has built her confidence up so much and taught her so well, my daughter is now working on GCSE level! I cannot recommend Marie enough. My son had tuition with her for ISEB test. Marie was absolutely amazing. She was super patient, explained everything so well and really made a difference in my son’s approach to the exam. My son loved going to Marie and even asked if he could go there everyday. Marie is such a lovely person and has an outstanding manner with children. Highly recommend!

Richard has been a fantastic tutor for my Daughter, who is shy, nervous and was very reluctant to go to a tutor! Richard was amazing at putting her at ease from the off, creating a positive learning environment, tailoring to her needs and making it fun. She originally saw him to give her confidence in her maths and English and then progressed to 11+ learning and she came on leaps and bounds. She looked forward to going every week! I wish he had been tutoring when my Son was doing his 11+ as we tried all the usual tutors in Ashford (large group sessions, using computers, 1:1) and none were as good. I’ll be brining my youngest to Richard in a couple of years. Thanks for everything!

Both my son and daughter have had tutoring with Richard and I can not recommend him highly enough. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable on the different areas of the curriculum and 11+ but he also has a way of making the children believe in themselves, giving them the confidence they need to succeed. Richard treats each child as an individual, tailoring his sessions to what the child needs as opposed to a ‘one hat fits all’ approach. He also gives you detailed feedback on your child’s progress and provides valuable advice for moving your child forward. Both my children enjoy going to Richard and do not see it as a chore. My son finds school a little tricky but having a quieter, encouraging environment at RP Tutoring he really is improving. Richard provides regular and helpful feedback on my sons progress and focuses on areas he finds more difficult rather than all of the curriculum. This really is beneficial as it does not waste time on areas he is strong at.

Richard was great to speak too, gave brilliant feedback, and just helped my daughter take that extra step. He gave her confidence, and his message to her just resonated with her brilliantly. Whilst we didn't have regular tutoring, we gained valuable insight from the 11+ mocks and then a couple of 2 hrs intensive sessions the week before the Kent test.

Both of my children attended weekly classes for about a year in the run up to the 11+. I think both of them benefitted a lot from the classes. It really helped them understand what to expect from the test and how to prepare for it, and get used to the style of questions. Thoroughly recommended.

Could not have asked for more for my daughter. The team in Tonbridge are absolutely amazing, great feedback and communication between tutor and parent, very welcoming and enjoyable for the children. My daughter loved the fact that on the first day she was given her own tuition satchel and stationary. Ilse was so lovely and understanding of every families own personal circumstances and very supportive. My child had 6 tuition sessions on a Saturday and a couple of full days during the summer holidays which were so valuable and I genuinely appreciate the wonderful contribution and teaching the group have provided her for the best start for secondary school. My son started tutoring with RTC in year 4 of primary school, finally finishing his time with them in the Summer holidays following year 5. During that time we have felt fully supported, with there being a focus on my son as a whole person rather than just ‘getting him through’ his 11+. We were offered sound advice which I appreciated, a kind ear from the lovely Ilse and a confidence boost from everyone he encountered. I took my son to the Tonbridge campus and Tony could not have been a more wonderful tutor in every sense. We actually really miss the sessions since he stopped.

Update- I had no hesitation enrolling my boys at RTC following the success they had with my first. Maria was brilliant with them and gave in-depth feedback every week. Thanks also to Ilse for being welcoming and approachable. I would definitely recommend RTC! My son prepared for his 11+ under RTC and passed excellently. I particularly liked the weekly feedback and the methodical approach to covering all the required topics across a range of subjects. Also the mock exams were apt opportunities to discuss strengths and weaknesses and agree steps forward to fill the gap. Special mention to Jo and Justine, and to Steph and Jinky for seamless front of house comms. All well appreciated.

Without Emma, I could never have achieved a grade 9 in both English literature and language. Before starting my tutoring, my grades were at 6’s and 7’s and I didn’t know what I could do better to improve them. But once Emma started tutoring me, I began to discover my strengths and weaknesses. She increased my confidence and is incredibly supportive and kind. She is an exceptional tutor and I am 100% positive that anyone who chooses her to tutor them, will definitely improve their grades and confidence in English.

I’ve had many English tutors throughout my GCSE studies but Emma has by far been the best one, she has helped me increase my grades in English by an incredible 5 grades in the short time she taught me (from my year 10 mock to my actual GCSE’s!). Emma gave me great advice on how to approach exam style questions including how to efficiently answer questions. Emma was able to identify exactly what I struggled with in English which I didn’t even know my self and worked on that issue which ultimately lead to me getting a grade 8 in English language. Emma is such an incredible teacher I would highly recommend her lessons!

We cannot speak more highly of her exceptional teaching ability and particular skills in enhancing exam technique. Emma was always consistent in her ability to teach English to a very high standard whilst motivating our child to thrive in the subject. This resulted in our child achieving five marks below the maximum grade 9 in their GCSE exam. We think this speaks volumes of the standard and expertise that Emma provided and we would definitely recommend her as a tutor.

Teachers that were chosen to teach me the subjects were very kind and explained to me everything that i needed to know in detail even when i had problems with understanding. When there were problems they got sorted out quickly to not disturb my learning. Overall helped me achieve the grades that i wanted. Thank you!

I cannot recommend Mary highly enough. We originally asked her to help our son with English Language because we were concerned that his grades were continually falling over time. However, her tuition also helped improve his English Literature work in the process, and they ended up being his two highest GCSE grades. Mary was friendly and professional throughout and we could see a noticeable improvement in our son’s ability and confidence in the subject from the start.

My children are really enjoying their classes with Mary. They find her explanations clear & easy to follow. They love the notes she takes during the class. This helps them concentrate during the lesson and go back over things afterwards when they need to apply what they have learnt. Mary has a great balance of being warm and friendly yet firm enough that the children listen and know they are to take their studies seriously if they want to progress and achieve. Mary really knows her subject so well and we feel very blessed for our children to be learning from such a great teacher.

Mary has been amazing with our son. Her firm but compassionate approach has not only improved his grades drastically but his confidence has rocketed. He no longer dreads English lessons at school which is an amazing difference. Mary is an excellent tutor and I thoroughly recommend her.  My daughter has made wonderful progress since she started having lessons with her. Her own daughter was home educated and is currently studying at Cambridge University which highlights the standard of her teaching. Mary also has experience working with students who are dyslexic with great results.  I would not hesitate in choosing her to tutor my child.

A really thorough quiz which considers a variety of science terms and processes as part of the multiple choice, encouraging further learning or checking when the answers are revealed at the end of the test. Accessible, friendly and enjoyable. Just enough questions around the specific topics, enough to not become overbearing or confusing. Although I think that for GCSE, it may need to be a bit more challenging. Maybe there could be challenging levels to select and pass as part of the quizzing. Thank you.
