Rita is such a lovely tutor, she took the time out of her day to make sure my daughter has the right work to complete and to ensure that she is getting the right tasks in order to do well in her gcses. With Rita my daughter was able to jump 2 whole grades which is a massive improvement. I could not recommend Rita enough, she is very good at what she does!

Vicky has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter for 8 years right up to her GCSE exams. She tailored her lessons to my daughter's needs boosting her confidence. Vicky also greatly helped my son by providing a couple of adhoc lessons to assist him with understanding some very difficult equations on his electrical course. As a result both passed their exams. Vicky is such a talented tutor, my daughter had an English teacher at school that was focusing too much on the negative. She and my son had had lessons with Vicky before (in yr6) so I felt confident she’d be the perfect person to give my daughter (yr10) the boost she needed. She had weekly lessons with Vicky up until going through her GCSEs and the change in her attitude towards learning and also her confidence in her own abilities has been seriously dramatic in the last few months. Now she’s actually really looking forward to getting her GCSE results!! I’ve already put my son on Vicky’s list to give him a boost as he starts yr11. Paul has been working with our daughter on maths GCSE for the past couple of months with the aim of getting her from a grade 2/3 to a grade 4. The progress she has made has been remarkably, we await to see what grade she gets, but I have no doubt had we had more time she would have been able to have got a grade 5/6. She really enjoyed the lessons and found the way Paul teaches maths made a very difficult subject seem normal. Paul showed an understanding and caring approach towards our daughter with the normal day to day pressures that a 15-year-old kid is under with exams looming. I signed up with First Tutors a couple of months ago and got messages from prospective clients pretty much straight away. It's a really easy system to use, thorough checks are made and you have to supply references. I also like that contact details aren't shared until you've accepted a client and they have paid the release fee. It seems to be a really good system for both tutors and tutees.

I found First Tutors online when looking for someone to show me how to use Microsoft Powerpoint. I must admit I have had a fantastic experience on their website. I contacted a number of tutors and all got back quite promptly. As a mature student I feared I may be laughed at however I had a fantastic experience with the tutor I chose in the end. Leesa tutored both my sons for the Kent test, the eldest remotely during a Covid lockdown. They both passed with flying colours. She made sessions fun and motivating, with rewards like sweets or little toys at the end of each session (delivered to our doorstep during lockdown!) and mini competitions between her pupils over a number of sessions for bigger prizes. Very approachable and flexible tutors with whom our daughters studied mainly maths during Years 10 and 11. They always listened to the girls' maths/science anxieties and gave them confidence. Their approach is to teach methods and offer exam practice so our daughters had lots of different types of help. Always happy to go over mock papers they had done in class. They really did make a difference to their grades.

A really thorough quiz which considers a variety of science terms and processes as part of the multiple choice, encouraging further learning or checking when the answers are revealed at the end of the test. Accessible, friendly and enjoyable. Just enough questions around the specific topics, enough to not become overbearing or confusing. Although I think that for GCSE, it may need to be a bit more challenging. Maybe there could be challenging levels to select and pass as part of the quizzing. Thank you.

I have a child diagnosed with ADHD. Richard was accommodating, a pleasure to deal with, friendly and professional and my kid bounced into every lesson with a positive attitude. I genuinely couldn’t recommend Richard enough. I’d give him 10 stars if I could. Oh and he got my kid to pass the Kent test with flying colours. Will definitely return to try to get my younger kid to also be tutored by him in the coming years.

Mr C was an excellent tutor. He was very welcoming and my daughter enjoyed all her lessons with him. He made lessons fun for her - we still play some of the games he taught her - and he was very good at explaining topics that she found difficult. She retained all the information he gave her.
