Grand tutors is an excellent tutoring school. My son attended the school for only 7 weeks during the Summer holiday, and then went on to pass the 11 plus with a high score. Grand tutors gave my son the tools and the knowledge to pass the Grammar test on a very short time scale. The tutor is dedicated to her pupils and always gives encouragement and praise. We used GTA for 11+ tuition. Assam was great. My daughter was a BIG fan of his teaching methods - not so much of the homework he set though! HA! She loved the lessons and found them very helpful. What I liked about most about these guys is the honest assessment of your child's abilities. On my first meeting with Shahnaz, she was very open in telling me that if she didn't think my child was capable of doing the 11+, she would tell me straight and that it would be unfair to put pressure on a child if it is clear they are not up to it. I really liked that. There was never any pressure to book lessons either. I was also very grateful for all the tips and advice Shahnaz gave me - as the parent, supporting my child's learning - which I found invaluable, especially moving forward as "it doesn't stop here" Shahnaz quite rightly said. On top of this a free maths and chemistry clinic are ran fortnightly on Sunday. The lessons are well structured and all teachers are educated from very good universities. My daughter started here 3 months ago after her teacher mentioned she needed help with reading and word problems. In her three months going here, her reading has significantly improved and her comprehension has gotten much better too. I am really pleased with the results.
