We have dined here for a special occasion. The fire place was on and it added to overall atmosphere. We went for a longer menu. It was one of the best meals of our lives. Especially the lobster was just amazing. Every little piece was perfectly executed and balanced. Oysters were delicious as well. And the wine selection is very extensive.
Rating: 5 / 5
The food was exceptional as was the wine selection which included a number of English vineyards. We chose the â la carte menu and were very pleased with the choices. I suppose the only comment we would make is that it's basically a pub albeit an elevated one and the service reflects that. Which doesn't mean that anyone was rude - far from it - but there was a fair bit of shouting and loud talking in/out of the kitchen and up/down the bar. My expectation when paying £75pp is that the staff would perhaps be a little more circumspect but in no way did it detract from the absolutely amazing food.

I had a wonderful time at the Fordwich Arms. The food was delicious and the staff very kind! I had the Hake, The Quail, the pistachio and raspberry tart. My fiancé got the Pork instead of the Hake.

What an amazing culinary experience! Excellent Food! Excellent Service! Excellent Value! £45 for the set menu which ended up being six courses, every course cooked and presented to perfection! Best ever dining experience! Thank you 🙏🏻

This is one amazing Oldie but Goldie pub filled up with interesting photos on over the walls and antiquity surroundings complete with outdoor seating and a smoking area. The food of which I had was the best steak & kidney pudding in my life and my misses had a huge pork succulent chop, both served with creamy mash and fresh veg, both were very plentiful and really delicious, hence the empty plates The service was fantastic including the young girl (well younger then me) was rushed off her feet, made you feel very welcomed and gave you and a busy restaurant 100%. This place was alight with happiness and that wasn't only due to a brilliant service, great food and good music but people were talking to each other and hardly to none mobile phones, people were polite with no weatherspoon type reckless regulars trying to get a cheap beer if you get my point and my favourite was this cozy corner with a log burner with two sofas that surrounded it to relax with a coffee to finish your meal. The toilets were lovely and clean and didn't smell at all which is just as important as the meal itself, the price was definitely worth it for what I paid which included two puddings and a couple of drinks. All in all I give this restaurant 10/10, worth the 45 min drive to get there were guaranteed return visit very soon.

I had last night homemade leek & potato soup excellent. My mains were lambs, liver & bacon mashed potato, a selection of fresh vegetables. They were like mums dinner. And a pint of local beer Heart of Darkness.

I really enjoyed my Sunday roast. I had soup to start and then roast chicken with stuffing. The meat was tasty and the veg well cooked. I'm not a fan of cauliflower cheese with a roast, but that's personal preference. The building is old and character-full and the staff very pleasant. Definitely worth a visit.

The best thing about this place was the people! Really good service from our waitress and the owner. It’s a locals place but they were very welcoming and Id definitely return. Roast was great especially cauli cheese and potatoes- the veggie option could do with a bit of improving however.

Had a smashing roast dinner today, no scrimping here, delicious, flavoursome, and great choice. Friendly attentive staff. We'll be back for another visit. Recommend cocktail slushy.

We celebrated our 18th anniversary at this stunning venue and we had an amazing evening! The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The menu featured a nice selection of locally sourced dishes, and we loved that they grow most of their own vegetables and herbs. The building is lovely, and a walk around the grounds is a must. While it’s a bit pricey, the quality of the food and exceptional service make it well worth it. A perfect spot for a special occasion!

We stayed here for my wife's birthday and we had a wonderful time. The staff really made us feel welcome and made every effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was exceptional. The building itself is lovely as are the grounds it sits in. And the food in the restaurant was delicious with everything locally sourced where possible. Overall a lovely experience.

It’s hard to describe the magic of the Pig hotels if you haven’t been to one. Their rustic charm is unbeatable for celebrating a special occasion or just a relaxing break. The thoughtful and personal touches by the team are really second to none - they always go the extra mile with customer service. We have stayed at Bridge Place twice now (getting engaged there the first time!) and we will continue returning year on year. The breakfasts are so yummy - the artisanal options on the breakfast table are a special touch. Dinner is always great! Their interiors are absolutely divine too. Thank you Pig team for another amazing stay, and Merry Christmas!✨

The Sunday Roast was the best we've had in a long time. Jenny, who manages the restaurant was welcoming, professional, friendly and calm under the pressure of so many covers. The food was excellent and we will definately be returning.

My husband & I stayed at the lovely Duke of William for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff, Adam in particular can't help enough and even went to the shops and got a bag of sweets for a friend as I was at a wedding most of the time so he did that for me. Amazing staff, lovely room, fabulous b/fast. The bar and restaurant was always full, incredibly welcoming for dogs and children as well.

we came to the pub for a meal with family for a celebration. It was quiet initially but soon got very busy. I had a half pint of prawns, very tasty and plenty of them followed by 1/4 rack of ribs. I was lucky as mine fell off the bone, my husband wasnt quite so lucky, but our dog did well out of it. The onion rings & chips were lovely and lots of them, we were all to full for dessert.

Lovely pub for dinner with family. The staff were polite and helpful, the garden charming and the food delicious with generous portions. Dogs are allowed inside as well as the garden.

We visited here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The food was lovely and reasonably priced, generous proportions. The staff were very friendy and made us feel welcome. The interior was spacious and comfortable with a nice lit fire to keep warm beside. The garden is huge and I imagine it's nice sitting out there in the summer.

Lovely evening meal tonight. Great, friendly service. Great food, buy one get one free steak which was lovely. Excellent desserts. Highly recommended for a relaxed atmosphere, great value good quality food and friendly service.
Rating: 4 / 5
Very good meal, the drink selection was good and the service was excellent. The star is lost as £16 for the roast although good quality was steep for the quantity of food received. The dessert selection on the Sunday menu was quite limited which meant none of our group had dessert. The Cajun chicken burger a member of our group had looked amazing and got a good review from him. I would choose this if I went on a Sunday again.

Magnificent place, a sublime breakfast ,with sea views😍 ! I'm Italian and I've been living in the UK for almost 10 years now and this is one of the best places I've had a good coffee. The staff is super efficient and very kind. I hope I still have the chance to come back. Local and toilet very clean! Never change, you're perfect! 🤩 P. S. By the way, one of the few places where there is a toilet! 😅

Lovely place, attentive staff, food was served quick and was nice and hot. The hollandaise sauce came in a separate pot which was good. Hash browns lovely and crispy. Comfortable seating. The place was quite noisy from the chatter of others, but people were just enjoying their morning I guess.

Went for lunch on 15/08. We had a selection of the tapas items, all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Such a great spot—it feels like you’re on holiday! This ambiance makes everyone in the restaurant feel good and adds to the overall atmosphere and good vibes. The dessert was generous too. Strongly recommended, especially while the weather is so nice! Enjoy. P.S. Apologies for the poor photos attached. I’m using a temporary replacement phone!

The beef short ribs were phenomenal. So tender and fell straight off the bone. The fish and chips tasted fresh and crispy. Was a bit of a wait but totally worth it.

Attended the mamma Mia afternoon brunch and I can highly recommend. The food, drinks & atmosphere was next to none! Had an absolutely amazing day! Thank you the cow shed xx

Have been here a few times. Sometimes have had to wait a long time for food, and only one toilet (I think!), but the Sunday roasts are absolutely fantastic. Today's no exception. Vegetables a lovely medley of curly kale, leeks, and then roasted parsnip and carrot. Tasty meat, and roast potatoes, and Yorkshires excellent. Slightly smaller portion than last time, but that meant you actually had a chance of eating it all! Friendly staff. A good visit.

Came here for the Bottomless brunch offer at £40 for food and cocktails/beer (90mins). The food is divine! I don’t even like ribs but they were heavenly 😋 They were really forthcoming with the drinks and you didn’t feel limited. We wizzed our way through all the Xmas themed cocktails. Grinch a firm favourite. The staff really friendly and served us drinks continually. No waiting around. Place has a lovely setup. Lots of other themed nights and events. Highly recommend.

Cafe/restaurant and bar at Minus bay in Kent. It is also possible to stay there but I didn't so can't comment on that part. In the day The Waves bar is primarily a cafe serving breakfast until 3pm plus a good selection of rolls and sandwiches, jacket potatoes, hot dogs/burgers and a selection of main meals.i would say prices are moderate but I find the food to be good, the service is always friendly too! Your well behaved four legged friend is welcome as well. In the evening the venue becomes a tapas restaurant and they have occasional live music plus they have a quiz quite frequently. Their dessert menu is filled with classics like sticky toffee pudding, sorted dick and Bramley apple crumble as well a cheese board. They do sell alcohol including cocktails. On a nice day it's lovely to sit outside as it's right by the sea. There are customer toilets including one for disabled users plus a baby change. There is plenty of parking, a lot is free but there is also a pay for car park if the free spaces have all gone.

We've been a few times recently as we love cycling and walking along this stretch of coast even though it's a little further for us than our normal haunts! The food is excellent - the brie and bacon roll special even eclipsed the very good bacon and egg sarnie :o). The staff are exceptionally friendly and service is very quick and efficient. We love dogs and all of the resident and visiting pooches have been very well behaved on every visit. Our own dog also enjoys a visit as she usually gets a sausage or some bacon (or even an ice cream!) and also enjoys sampling from every water bowl! Definitely recommended for a rest and refuel before, during, or after a walk or bike ride along this glorious stretch of coast.
