The Best Restaurants in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

So just returned form a lovely afternoon tea at Bistrot Pierre, a gift from my work friends for my significant birthday. The afternoon tea was really lovely but it was the care and customer service that made this exceptional. I had to change the booking a few times and the email communication from Emily and Orla was kind and helpful. Today the service from Lola and Marcus was second to none, Lola particularly was attentive without being intrusive. If you are able to visit you’ll not be disappointed - I’ll definitely visit again 😊

Had a really nice stay here, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was delicious and served promptly and professionally by Emily and Paula. Also really well decorated for xmass as this is when we stayed!

Had a fantastic evening family meal. Lovely service overseen by Lara in the restaurant and Orla in the pub. Cameron the head chef delivered delicious 3 courses to 5 of us and the starters by Alex were top notch. How someone so young cooked the calamares to perfection on such a busy night is amazing. Thank you all - will be back soon!

Came again for lunch, and we did make a reservation. It's a Sunday and glad we arrived before the Sunday crowd, was almost packed. We got the two-course lunch which was less than £20 per person. Great value for the portions and quality. I like it that foods not too salty for my liking. The chicken Diane sauce tho had tad too much alcohol for my taste. Calamari was lovely, and tomato soup was creamy. Service can be slow but they are very prompt in responding to complaints. 5 months earlier: Walked in to restaurant and managed to get seats and be served, even though was only 5pm. Ordered beef Bourguignon and the pork medallions plus a beer and a glass of sparkly. Lovely service. Good portions and tasty, especially the sauces, so full we didn't have room for dessert.

I had lunch on my own, was warmly welcomed, as I have been in the past, service is always good, friendly and unconcerned that I’m dining alone. The food was great and what I really like here is that the portions are not huge as is often the case with pasta. Excellent!

Nice restaurant, very nice welcome. Took our coats and showed us to the table and helped with the pram. There seems to be quite a few Italians working there which is nice for an Italian restaurant. Service was good and food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The pasta was cooked really nice the garlic breads were very nice. I ordered the pig cheeks pasta so thought it would be lovely melt in the mouth meat but it was done in more of a bacon style, still really nice but not what I expected. Had a really nice kick to it. One of us had the Arrabbiata and it was really very spicy so be aware.

Visited on Tuesday for a date night. For starters we had pizza bread and olives.. the olives were gorgeous and the pizza bread was very fresh and tasty. Mains , we had Lasagna and ribeye steak. The steak was amazing.. possibly the best I’ve had. I did compliment the chef as I was so impressed. We had 2x red wine (Chianti Classico) and 2x white wine (Pino). Total bill came to £61 - £15 tip. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Can I just say how impressed I am with the restaurants 50% off your bill policy in January.. usually restaurants don’t offer this and it’s an excellent idea to get customers through the door at the quietest time of the year.. ❤️ SUPPORT THIS RESTAURANT!!

Great service, good food, and atmosphere for early dining. Steak slighly overdone for what was asked for but rectified straight away when staff asked if everything was OK. We dined on the sun terrace and will be back to try the downstairs eating experience.

The Wheatley Arms is a lovely warm welcoming pub. The staff are really nice, decor is lovely and fresh, food was great, bedrooms are clean and comfortable with glorious showers. It is in a perfect (for us) location 4 minutes walk to the railway station. It was difficult to find fault except the information in the room hinted at a treat to be found in the fridge. We couldn’t find it neither could our friends in their room. A small point which definitely did not detract from our enjoyment of the pub. By the way, it was great value as well.

Stopped in after being out in the snow on Saturday. Really nice waiting on staff. The place was warm (I had been running so was quite wet yet never got cold). Dog friendly. Quick service and the roast was really good. Will definitely be returning for a traditional dinner.

We had a lovely experience at the Wheatley yesterday. We ordered two pork belly roasts which were delicious (best roast I’ve had in ages!). We were greeted by a very polite waitress and sat down really quickly. Our food and drinks both came out really quickly and the staff were all so lovely and very attentive, even on a busy Sunday. Our desserts were delicious too! The whole atmosphere and look of the restaurant is so nice. We’d recommend the Wheatley to anyone and we’ll definitely be back soon!

Overall a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a great location and is a short walk from the local train station, so very handy for trips to Leeds or Ilkley without the hassle of finding parking. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and well furnished, the bed was very comfortable. Food was very good/excellent and the staff were friendly. However, service was a bit slow for dinner on the Friday because the pub was very busy. Would recommend to anyone visiting this part of Yorkshire.
