“Best meal out in Hebden Bridge in all 30 plus years of living here. Excellent range of courses and the matched wine option to courses was superb. I definitely recommend going for this option rather than just a bottle with your meal. This was a 60th treat for a friend but wow what a treat it was indeed for me too. At last a restaurant of Manchester or London standard cuisine in Hebden Bridge.”

“Absolutely a taste sensation! As a meat eater I dare anyone who is on the fence about vegan food to try Nelsons. Every dish is cleverly crafted, the flavours are outstanding and the service and wines are second to none! This really is a special place with vibes, atmosphere and friendly service. 10/10 all round.”

“The food was really delicious and the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the food. The wait wasn't long, and the staff was very nice. It's a comfortable little restaurant, and I fully recommend the Brownie for desert. They're also accommodating, and pack food to go, if one can't finish it all in the restaurant. If I wasn't here on vacation, I would come back more than once.”

“We had the Persian stew and Persian ice-cream and both were very clearly homemade with the freshest of ingredients. Absolutely divine! But the thing we were most impressed with was the delightful service. We felt so welcomed and it was a pleasure to visit. I will very happily eat here again another day.”

“Lovely little Vegetarian café which serves good food. It's not a large place so definitely recommend calling to book a table. I had the special 'halloumi stack' which was harissa hummus, tomatoes, halloumi on sourdough drizzle with hot honey and balsamic. It was a lot of food for the price and all the ingredients were really good quality. The halloumi was grilled perfectly, there was a lot of hummus and it all tasted really lovely. It all tasted great, but my mouth was burning afterwards (My fault for not realising that it would be hot, the clues were all there!) My wife had the brioche French toast. This was ok but nothing special. It was not like French toast we've had before, it was more like an omelette with bread, and was very eggy. Did have a good amount of yoghurt and fruit on top though. I also had a latte which was nice and hot with a good coffee taste. We got a cinnamon roll to take away for later which was very nice. Overall we had a great meal with lovely service and I would definitely recommend this place. Note - There is a car park next to the café that you can park in for 1 hour”

“Having been here before, but just for drinks, we’ve always promised to give the food a try, so today we did - Thursday lunch 14 Nov. We arrived to a very relaxed setting, which has a beautiful wood burning stove, we chose a table nearby. The waiter was immediately reactive and brought our menus and took our drinks order. Drinks arrived swiftly. Later we placed our food order with the friendly waitress. We both chose the fish sandwich, on the menu described as a light lunch. We also ordered a side of onion rings to be shared as a starter. Boy o boy, the onion rings arrived piled high freshly made, and deep fried in batter, a little greasy, but they hit the spot. Our fish sandwiches arrived, these were huge and tasty too, served with tartare sauce, chips or fries. Now this is marked on the menu as a light lunch, all I can say is that I wouldn’t like to see their heavy lunch! I’ve knocked a star off because they were having a beer delivery during our meal. 6 or so barrels of beer being squeezed passed our table in a sack truck was a bit off putting to say the least, and the door opening constantly letting in the draught just spoilt it for us.”

“What a lovely pub set in idyllic surroundings high above Hebden Bridge, it's location is a bit out but this only adds to the magnificent scenery. The staff in the pub were ever so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they were attentive but not obtrusive. All in all a great evening out with my wife which was only made nicer by how we were treated by the pubs staff.”

“Absolutely love this place , their food is delicious. Fresh, tastey, generous in portions, cost of a meal is probably the cheapest in hebden bridge. They are very generous with their customers, keeping the prices low. Owners & staff, so so welcoming & friendly. Be sure to book on busy evenings , it’s a busy vibrant place. My favourite meal is mixed grill, griddled chicken & veg ( to die for ) fresh salad and a generous portion of home made garlic flat bread. The meals are huge for the price, thank you Oregano for keeping it real , all the best to you and your lovely family.”
