The Best Restaurants in Saltaire, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

I've waited several months before I wrote this review. Been several times now and each time every pizza and corresponding toppings have all been well balanced, flavourful and perfectly cooked. It's an open kitchen, so you can see them at work too ! They may not have a fancy pants, copper glad 100 thousand pound oven.... but what they do have is passion, creativity and a respect for ingredients. I watch them handle those dough pucks, light and pillowy with real life in it. Don't expect thick bases etc...you have to appreciate their particular style and allow the flavours and Chewiness of the dough to make your taste buds tingle. I love the simple, yet well thought out interior which reflects the chefs personality. The service is very friendly and non-judgemental. The team work well together and are very helpful. The atmosphere is great and they have a well thought out drinks selection. I'm not sure what else I can say, suffice to say it's a real Gem, worth a special journey for sure ! They are also quite flexible if you want to substitute bases etc. It's one of the best pizza joints in the Yorkshire for sure. Obviously from my review, you will have noted that I'm a Pizza lover !

The service is fantastic and the staff are friendly and professional. They clearly care about their work. The pizzas are top notch. Simon, the chef, is passionate about delivering authentic, delicious food with the best quality ingredients. It's great to see a small, independent, local business doing so well and I'm delighted to support it by returning again and again (why wouldn't I, Il Pirata pizzas are the best)?

Absolutely stunning pizzas. We've visited a good few times (from Salford) and its worth the drive! We always order a good 4/5 pizzas and just enjoy the goodness that arrives at the table. The dough and ingredients used are of the highest standard. The topping combinations are stunning. Everything is meticulously thought out and tested before it hits the menu so you can rest assured that whatever you order is going to taste amazing. Front of house staff are a delight. Very friendly service without being intrusive on your dining experience which is very rare in my opinion. Simon and his team are always happy to see us and vice versa. Can't wait for my next meal! Keep up the fantastic work!!!

Excellent pizza and nice beer on draft too. Couldn't ask for much more ... Even let us bring the pooch in while we ate the delicious pizza. Thin based stone baked style pizza was amazing. Not sure what the IPA was but that was very nice too. Great venue.

Great selection of food and drinks all at a good price. This was our 2nd visit and will definitely be back.

We’ve enjoyed meals here on several occasions and have always had excellent food and service, it does get very busy though so best to book in advance.

We took our 15-year-old son for his birthday dinner and we all loved it. The restaurant is smaller than expected so ensure you book. The staff were lovely and took my beer fuelled Dad jokes with a laugh and the spirit. The burgers were great, go and enjoy.

Very good. Lots of interesting burgers. Though they might not be the trendy kind (smash patties, brioche buns), they had tonnes of flavour. Really appreciate that beef is cooked pink and chicken is made with thighs.

Got an ice cream today the summer special absolutely fantastic price and value 10/10

Absolutely gorgeous food here, the donuts are just like the seaside. The owners are amazing people, willing to make the customers happy.

Amazing food. Every time I have visited here I am truly impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Will always return to La Rue- my favourite food in Saltaire.

Wow. 20 years I've been coming here and never had a bad meal. The food is truly exquisite with perfectly balanced flavours, interesting combinations and always beautifully presented. My recommendation is go midweek for the £16 2 course menu. Great value. I am an ex chef and ex mystery shopper so am exceptionally hard to please- I flipping love the food here. Go try it. What a gem this place is. Lovely inside with friendly staff. As for the food, it is top quality. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I wish I could give this place more than five stars, it’s honestly the best place round here to go for dinner. The restaurant is really nicely styled and always super clean. The service you get from Saleh and the team is second to none, we always feel so welcome and looked after and love coming in. Then the FOOD! It is just beautiful, we have even sometimes just ordered whatever is recommended to us as we trust so much that it will be fantastic. We have brought family here, had birthdays here, and always come to celebrate a new job or special occasion as we know it will always be a wonderful experience. It is exceptional value too, we’re always surprised by the reasonable price of the bill!

Food was absolutely delicious, portions were good, highly recommend the lamb chops and the chips, lamb biryani and butter chicken were also delicious, we got served quick and the owner was very friendly, would definitely recommend and go again. Visited again a year later at a very busy time, staff were amazing and went above and beyond with excellent service, food was great again, would highly recommend.

We had dinner here last night and the food was off the scale! Really that good. We had popadums and pickle tray, followed by lamb chops and meat samosas... then shared a butter chicken Asian style with garlic naan's and chips... all delicious. I just rate as 4 ⭐ as whilst the food is great the place needs a lick of paint/freshening up , toilet needs sorting and I'd surely rate it 5 ⭐

We fancied a change of scene from our usual haunt and we weren’t disappointed. We all agreed this was the best curry we’d had since moving to Shipley. In addition to excellent food, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Even the service was wonderful! Cheers guys, we’ll be back. 🙏

This used to be Da Tonio's. Its had a complete renovation . Very tastefully done. The menu is what you would expect from an Italian restaurant . We were greeted with friendly staff . The food is lovely , generous portions & extremely tasty . The side dish which came with my chicken was delicious & not the usual mush one normally gets served . My Sisters & I went to try it this evening, as, one of my Sister's has a birthday in March & she has now booked the whole family in later this month... Yes, we will be returning customers 😋

What a gem of a place, not visited for years and thought we would have our anniversary meal. Was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend chicken pollo Marbella. The service for the lady for lovely too.

Lovely restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff. We had the early bird tapas (three dishes for £18) and really enjoyed everything. Vegetarians and vegans have lots of options here too.

This lovely little place serves food with heaps of flavour! We had the bottomless brunch, with a fantastic selection of delicious dishes to choose from, and a solid choice of drinks! Service was fast and efficient, I’d certainly come back. The atmosphere could definitely have used a switch up just to get our party of 5 going, but other than that I couldn’t find fault. A great authentic experience!! Amazing trendy place!! Across road to Salts Mill. Beautiful clean interior & welcomihg staff. I loved the menu & tantalising dishes on display. A must try when venturing in this picturesque vicinity. We were looked after very well & served with a smile. Our fish was succullent, not over spicy & the salad was freshly prepared. There is a great bar serving a selection of alcoholic drinks & it’s good to know that halal food is served here. A truly enjoyable wonderful afternoon 10/10

Stopped in for a Sunday breakfast, great service, fast and friendly. Cozy ambiance in a well decorated restaurant, high ceiling and an excellent selection at the bar for lunch and dinner. An excellent place to take your date for a treat. Highly recommended.

Had lunch with friends varied menu with an Asian theme. A couple of locally brewed ales and plenty of other alcoholic and soft drinks . Our server was friendly and welcoming and didn’t rush us over a lengthy lunch. Ordered a sharing starter of popadoms with humous then everyone had a different main which was all very tasty. A couple had puddings a fruit crumble with cardamom crème anglais and choc fudge which finished us off. Quite a pleasant venue. Good staff and food.

I just nipped in here because I was hungry, stumbled upon the crafty Indian by chance. I chose the chef's meat selection for £16.95 two curries, rice nan and two starters cannot fault the quality of this food at all. The mince curry is divine. Compliments to the chef. The waiting staff are lovely too x

Nice food presented quite well. Pleasant person serving at table. Prices reasonable. Decor bright and cheerful rather than relaxing. Music a little intrusive. Quite a long wait for our food. Had a good time overall.

Was on the fence after seeing some recent review but thought to try it out, and I'm glad I did. Really well priced. The Meat Thali as pictured was £13 and included the rice, naan and starters. Food was very tasty. Beer choice is great with some beers that are rarely seen in other bars. Highly recommend and I'll be back. EDIT - The pricing on the menu has changed and all items have increased in price, with some shooting up a fair bit. Some items nearly increasing by 50% which is a huge overnight hike. Worth taking into consideration if anyone decides to visit.

First time trying this place and absolutely delighted with the find! Ordered a take out and the food was fantastic, really fresh, flavoursome dishes and reasonably placed too. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely going back 👍

Was up here for the Saltaire Festival, and this pub was just across the river. It's in an awesome location situated right next to the river and across from a field. Has a lovely outside area with plenty of seating. Staff were friendly and it has a good selection of drinks. They do sell food but I didn't eat here. It does have a little bit of the "chain pub" feel which i am not too keen on but that's more of a personal preference. I would come here more often if I lived in the area if for nothing else than the lovely sound of running water outside from a small nearby waterfall.

Visited The Boathouse with my daughter and granddaughter on a Tuesday afternoon . Difficult getting the pushchair down to entrance die to the stairs . If there was a slope entrance we did not see it . Once inside the staff were great . There's a really good choice of local beers including a couple of Timothy Taylors . Food wise I had the pork pie and mushy peas and we also had a caeser salad. Both very tasty . I recommend a visit to The Boathouse when you are next in Saltaire .

A really nice pub with great view on the river. I loved the fact you could sit under the tree shade, inside or stand by the river. Great coffee! I was a bit sceptical, but was amazed with the coffee Josh made :)

Nice restaurant on the water with tasty food and great views. The steak sandwich was delicious!
