Kal's, can to be found in Coopers Yard Food Hall and Social. There is a Christmas menu at present and the Turkey dinner is absolutely delicious, full of flavour and definately makes you feel like it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The Staff are very friendly and helpful. Within the Food Hall are different types of food specialists, several bars, teas coffees sections and currently mild mulled wine and Christmas spiced tea. Kobens Smokehouse is also in this area. The atmosphere and ambiance is industrial with evidence of what the building was used for in its past. Music plays in the background and it can get very busy. Plenty of seating areas with rustic tables and chairs like I remember at school....many moons ago!! The entrance is either from the road into the bar and up a spiral staircase or accessed from Coopers Lane on the left which is on a steep slope then a flat area, seating can be outside here in warmer weather.

Pleasantly surprised to find such high quality food outside of a major city. Ambience in Cooper’s Yard was good. Real rustic feel. At times was a bit noisy, but you’d expect that on a Saturday night. Kal’s menu had more than enough choice with a reasonable price point. Quality of food was superb!

This steak was so good, it made me forget about my ex, my diet, and all my life goals. I took one bite, and suddenly, all my problems seemed irrelevant. If this steak was a person, I’d propose. I don't even care about vegetables anymore. Go try for yourself....soon!

Was really impressed with W&P, not only for their beautiful food but also for how they looked after us a large group booking, especially dealing with the bills. Each of us had our own bill, no faffing around doing calculations, who had what, the lovely waitress had sorted it all for us, it was such a breeze. Thank you. Back to the food, there were great preorder food options for a group booking, they catered for gluten free and vegetarians well. High quality, fresh ingredients. Probably the best falafel dish I've ever had, a mountain of food! Had mocktail options for the drivers, refreshing to see not to be full of sugar either 🙂 Will love to come again. Thank you for having us

Had our anniversary dinner here on a cold snowy night in December. The atmosphere was very warm and cozy and the staff were very attentive. Food was fantastic, the butternut risotto was the best risotto i've ever had. Sticky toffee pudding was an additional bonus.

Unusual place in many ways. Decor is fun. Cosy upstairs with quite a lot of seating. Food was excellent. Every course was delicious. Didn’t think I’d manage all three but I did. Had nice local beer (canned). Tricky access. Either up a cobbled steep street or steep steps and once inside more steep steps to eating area. We needed to pay £10 a head deposit to book but that’s kind of nice as your meal seems cheaper on the night. Staff friendly.

Wow, I wanted to do something a little different for my birthday this year and the whippet and pickle didn’t disappoint. I booked a bottomless brunch for 4. We had more than enough food, a brunch board and a waffle of our choosing. Excellent range of drinks. It wasn’t like the usual bottomless drinks where you leave legless and hungry. We left feeling full and happy. Thank you to the waitress’. A wonderful day with good friends, good conversation (that I could hear that wasn’t drowned out by loud music) and fantastic food.

La Dantri | Honley

13A Westgate, Honley, Holmfirth HD9 6AA, UK | Italian Restaurant
P: 07376 279499

Rating: 4.9 (111) Price Level:

Me and my wife live locally and had been meaning you try this place for a while. We did, and we were blown away. Seriously. We were a little unsure walking in... but after the starters starter flying out around us we were shocked. Food came... and MEGA. Apparently the owner/ head chef is OCD and handles all dishes going out... and it shows. It's out of this world. If your a foodie... try for yourself! Not the cheapest... but its obvious why. U get 8 BIG prawns for a starter. Mental.

Lovely small Italian restaurant in the village of honley, so really want to support. Food good slightly on the pricey side, which I'd be happy to pay to support small village Italian, however, not huge portions of what was ordered which was a good selection over the 2 nights we've visited. The restaurant is small but lovely. Eaten here twice, staff and service very good and friendly. only real sticking point is the price of wine starting at 28.00 a bottle and not the nicest of wines. Tried the one at 30.00 a bottle the 2nd time we visited and was disappointed by the quality of wine at this price point. the cost of the wine would put me off returning as I'd expect a really good wine for 30.00 a bottle. If they offered a decent house red at 20 and nicer wines 28.00 and above we would be more likely to return as we live locally. This is really the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars.

Popped into this little bar while in Holmfirth. Quite small so we went upstairs to another smaller area. Only a couple of tables but what a wonderful little area with lots of quirky things scattered around. Service was quick & the staff friendly. £23 for 4 drinks was probably a little more expensive than the average (for the area) but worth the experience If you visit, make sure you also experience their toilet ...... best public toilet I've ever had the pleasure of using 😉

Popped into the Hideout a few weeks ago for a quick drink with friends and like it so much I came back last night for a sharing board with another friend. The food was delicious and plenty for 2 of us. A warm welcome and a lovely chilled atmosphere which is rare for Holmfirth on a Friday night. The Hideout should be busier than it was for a weekend but then I guess the feel of the place would totally change.

The coffee was 5/5 and you leave having no doubt to plan your next visit. The interior is modern with a relaxing feel, making you want to order that second coffee. Great work to the staff there, would highly recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Nice place overlooking the river, can't comment on food as yet, friendly staff, maybe a few plants to soften the building. My only gripe shared toilets, I know it's a modern world but, having worked in a multitude of places, where most woman wouldn't like sharing with blokes, for reasons best not talked about. Apart from that great space, looking forward to sitting on the deck in summer. Update more seating and space, still needs some plants, real or otherwise. Cake is missing 🍰, you need something sweet with a coffee, scone, biscuit anything, but nowhere to be found? Pardun the pun. I like the vibe in the alley lots of bars of different description.

Absolutely lovely evening! Me and my husband visited for our first date out in years after having our baby. We’ve eaten curries all over the world and these were definitely some of the best we’ve ever eaten. The staff are SO lovely, especially the young lady that served us, she almost makes the place so I hope they are looking after her! Brilliant food really can’t fault! I think my only suggestion would be to have their bathrooms redecorated as this kind of killed the feel and vibe of the restaurant.

A Breakfast to Remember! We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Finlay’s in Holmfirth, and it was truly exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish showcasing the finest local produce. The attention to quality and freshness was evident in every bite. Sensational meat! I had the Texas BBQ Pulled Pork Double Smashburger and enjoyed every morsel of it. Incredible flavour in the smoked patties and juicy sweet pulled pork. Lovely crunch from the coleslaw and all housed in a sweet light (but firm) brioche bun. I requested pickles to be added but had to pay 50p for the "privelege" which bugs me a little when (some) places do that. I got 4 slices by the way... Certainly not aggrieved enough to not put this burger right up in the top tier. I also had some plain chicken tenders and they were also delicious. Perfectly crisp coating with perfect chicken inside. They went down a treat with the ranch dip and ironically came with a large helping of pickles! The venue is cosy and pleasant to eat at for a food court. Definitely recommend Koben's meat delights!

Visited Koben a few month's back for my birthday as I had been dying to try this place. Got the big tray with some extras at 4pm to feed three, pricey but worth the money. Meat all on point, really good ribs and pulled pork! Great sides with it and the two burgers were worth the visit themselves - wasn't sure what to expect from the chicken burger in a cinnamon bun but this might have been one of my favourite bits. Only thing I can fault it on is distance from Leeds, needs another branch!
