Excellent food. Best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Did not stay in a room, just ate and drank. Nook brewery is the best.
Rating: 5 / 5
Busy pub with a big menu. Great range of beers including local cask options. I think they have a linked brewery that brews most of the range. Food was good and arrived quickly. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices...

Great freshly cooked food. Steak pie was to die for, served with fresh skin on chips and peas.............would have been 5 stars but the meal needed another veg to compliment, maybe honey glazed carrots/parsnips or a brassica!?! I'm not a chef. Its just a suggestion.

Stopped for lunch after a long walk with my dog. Great selection of drinks. Ordered off the lunchtime specials menu. Absolutely delicious. I was well impressed with the drinks, feed and the staff were great too.

The Carding Shed
Washpit Mills, Green Ln, Holmfirth HD9 2RD, UK | Cafe P: 01484 680300
Rating: 4.5 (2063) Price Level:
Car nostalgia and great food! A must for motorcar enthusiasts with a car display spanning from a Porsche 964, BMW 2002 TI I, a TV7 through to a mark one Transit. There is also a restoration service with their exquisite craft on display. The food and service was excellent. We opted for a breakfast muffin and a hanging chicken kebab alongside a perfect coffee. There is plenty of onsite parking and rest room facilities. I recommend visiting and look forward to returning.

First time visiting the new venue. Not disappointed at all. Had some very tasty food, and stroll round the vintage cars and bikes.
Rating: 5 / 5
Absolutely lovely cafe and the fact that it is car themed makes it even more unique! You get to have lovely food with a classic car showroom before or after your meal. The service was great, the food tasty and portion size reasonable. I had the stacked breakfast and this was to die for with the crispiest hash browns ever tasted. I loved it and will be back again. P.S. if you have a sweet tooth try their milkshakes. I highly recommend

We were out on our regular Sunday drive and decided to go here. We like to go to places never been to before and what a very pleasant surprise! So much nostalgia and memories of days gone by in the motoring world. Lots and lots of items and cars on display. Great, prompt and friendly service. Great selection of cakes - delicious! The menu looks great too. Not just the ordinary old menu. Something different and interesting. If we're passing this way again we will definitely visit again.

DEVOUR
Luke Ln, Thongsbridge, Holmfirth HD9 7TB, UK | Restaurant P: 01484 684793
Rating: 4.5 (700) Price Level:
Visited for the first time yesterday for my birthday and was not disappointed. The roast was amazing and all my favourite vegetables beautifully cooked. What a lovely bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Will definitely be back as there are some interesting things on the menu I'd love to try. Thoroughly recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
Very enjoyable meal and reasonable value. One of our new favourites around the Holmfirth area.
Rating: 5 / 5
Not the cheapest place around here but the quality, ambience and experience is worth the premium. Staff made an effort for my birthday and we had a great time. We all could have had anything on the menu which always makes it a tough choice. All in all, a lovely evening and will be back.
Rating: 5 / 5
Came in for a quick coffee and was surprised by the ambience and the staff. Absolutely gorgeous little place. Honestly considering to use this as my wedding venue.
Rating: 5 / 5
Our first experience here, won't be the last. First impression is the wonderful building, an ex dyehouse - looks great, well set out, visibly beautiful from the outside, exceptional outdoor space (didn't use as it's -2⁰) Warm welcome on entry, and great seated area to review the menu, take a drink. Restaurant is bustling and has a great atmosphere, good music. Service was attentive and pleasant. Menu was a decent choice, not too many you can't decide. All choices were piping hot and really enjoyable. Sweets looked incredible, however ate far too much so gave them a miss.

Ten Fourteen
10 - 14 Dunford Rd, Holmfirth HD9 2DP, UK | Steak House P: 01484 681884
Rating: 4.6 (255) Price Level:
Visited mid-afternoon so it was quiet and wasn’t expecting chef to be ready for action but service was good and food excellent. I had a nice pint of Camden Brewery pale ale and a burger. Hand cut chips were really nice. First visit but would come again and try one of steaks which looked top notch.
Rating: 5 / 5
The food, service, atmosphere were all AMAZING. Absolutely enjoyed the burger. The staff is very friendly. I have a lactose allergy and they checked with the chef to see what I could and couldn't have. They even made changes to the burger, i got vegan cheese instead of normal cheese with no problem. Absolutely recommend the place!
Rating: 5 / 5
Came here for the first time for a meal with my grandma. The food and the service is absolutely superb. We ordered the rings for a starter and omg absolutely incredible, the coleslaw was THE best thing, and I don't even like coleslaw. The Sunday roast was definitely worth the money, such big portions, and the Yorkshire pudding was almost as big as my head. 10/10 would reccomend.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great steak excellent service. 2 of us had rump steak on a meal deal with a bottle of wine £25 each good value🍷🥩😀👍
Rating: 4 / 5
Our first time at 1014. A little quiet and not much atmosphere but, most places are quieter than normal in January. Staff were very friendly. Starters were both beautiful, for mains my fillet was slightly over cooked and slightly dry which should never really happen. The chicken chorizo skewers were excellent value. Despite the over cooked steak we would still give it another go in the future.

This is a great little pub. The staff and customers are friendly and beer is great. They have a weekly pub quiz and serve food at lunchtime on the weekends
Rating: 5 / 5
Great welcome and well kept pints. The very definition of what you want from an English pub.
Rating: 5 / 5
Cracking little pub & cafe just outside Holmfirth centre. Well positioned for walkers and locals. There’s a phone box outside full of books so well worth a visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
We stopped for a quick couple of beers on the way home from a day out in Derbyshire. It was quiet in ambience on a hot Saturday, with a good selection of ales and a lovely beer garden with a great view over the Holme Valley. The landlord was very friendly and welcoming.

Rating: 4.5 (861) Price Level:
An absolutely fantastic stay. Good location with ample parking. Just a short taxi ride from town. Beautiful rooms, well appointed with quality bedding and furniture. The food is excellent and plentiful and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub section is cosy with a log burner. Totally faultless and we'll definitely be back. Thank you all.
Rating: 5 / 5
Really enjoyed our stay in Grouse. It was spacious, warm and spotlessly clean. A comfy bed, roll top bath, brownies and a log burner - what more could you need? Oh and a little dedicated dog space under the stairs with a bed and bowls! Excellent and genuinely friendly customer service from everyone. We will be back.
Rating: 5 / 5
We enjoyed a lovely meal here, from start to finish the service was amazing and the food was very tasty! Started with a friendly welcome as soon as we walked in, followed by a prompt drink order which is always welcomed, and very friendly service for Max, who truly is an asset to the venue, we mentioned it was the night before the wedding and he had lovely advice for the bride and overall provided great service to the whole table. We'll definitely be back and would definitely recommend a visit to everyone. 😊
Rating: 5 / 5
We arrived on Friday at a nearby Airbnb and The Pickled Pheasant was the nearby watering hole. The fire was light making the pub very welcoming, everyone was very friendly not just the bar staff but also everyone who was drinking ... dogs are welcome there is a good selection of beers and lagers. During the whole stay we frequented the pub on most evenings and every time we were welcomed even during the busy Sunday .... we will definitely be back

Koben Smokehouse
Coopers Yard, Cooper Ln, Holmfirth HD9 3BP, UK | American Restaurant P: Not available
Rating: 4.7 (74) Price Level:
Visited Koben a few month's back for my birthday as I had been dying to try this place. Got the big tray with some extras at 4pm to feed three, pricey but worth the money. Meat all on point, really good ribs and pulled pork! Great sides with it and the two burgers were worth the visit themselves - wasn't sure what to expect from the chicken burger in a cinnamon bun but this might have been one of my favourite bits. Only thing I can fault it on is distance from Leeds, needs another branch!
Rating: 5 / 5
Sensational meat! I had the Texas BBQ Pulled Pork Double Smashburger and enjoyed every morsel of it. Incredible flavour in the smoked patties and juicy sweet pulled pork. Lovely crunch from the coleslaw and all housed in a sweet light (but firm) brioche bun. I requested pickles to be added but had to pay 50p for the "privelege" which bugs me a little when (some) places do that. I got 4 slices by the way... Certainly not aggrieved enough to not put this burger right up in the top tier. I also had some plain chicken tenders and they were also delicious. Perfectly crisp coating with perfect chicken inside. They went down a treat with the ranch dip and ironically came with a large helping of pickles! The venue is cosy and pleasant to eat at for a food court. Definitely recommend Koben's meat delights!
Rating: 5 / 5
Absolutely fantastic food! I would 100% return for the Dino ribs they had such an amazing flavour and beautiful bark It was definitely worth the trip to visit Koben Smokehouse arrived half an hour or so before they opened and it was so worth the wait (I will say the photos I took dont do the food justice I was just to impatient and wanted to eat 😅)

Bengal Spice
9 Dunford Rd, Holmfirth HD9 2DP, UK | Indian Restaurant P: 01484 683882
Rating: 4.7 (361) Price Level:
Absolutely lovely evening! Me and my husband visited for our first date out in years after having our baby. We’ve eaten curries all over the world and these were definitely some of the best we’ve ever eaten. The staff are SO lovely, especially the young lady that served us, she almost makes the place so I hope they are looking after her! Brilliant food really can’t fault! I think my only suggestion would be to have their bathrooms redecorated as this kind of killed the feel and vibe of the restaurant.
