âNice place overlooking the river, can't comment on food as yet, friendly staff, maybe a few plants to soften the building. My only gripe shared toilets, I know it's a modern world but, having worked in a multitude of places, where most woman wouldn't like sharing with blokes, for reasons best not talked about. Apart from that great space, looking forward to sitting on the deck in summer. Update more seating and space, still needs some plants, real or otherwise. Cake is missing đ°, you need something sweet with a coffee, scone, biscuit anything, but nowhere to be found? Pardun the pun. I like the vibe in the alley lots of bars of different description.â

âUnusual place in many ways. Decor is fun. Cosy upstairs with quite a lot of seating. Food was excellent. Every course was delicious. Didnât think Iâd manage all three but I did. Had nice local beer (canned). Tricky access. Either up a cobbled steep street or steep steps and once inside more steep steps to eating area. We needed to pay ÂŁ10 a head deposit to book but thatâs kind of nice as your meal seems cheaper on the night. Staff friendly.â

âCame across this place on the way from Holmfirth, we were very pleased with the fantastic meal as well the lovely staff and good service. My partner had Liver & Onions and I wanted a vegan option, I had a pasta dish with garlic bread which was one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant. Highly recommended.â

âBusy pub with a big menu. Great range of beers including local cask options. I think they have a linked brewery that brews most of the range. Food was good and arrived quickly. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices...â

âWe arrived on Friday at a nearby Airbnb and The Pickled Pheasant was the nearby watering hole. The fire was light making the pub very welcoming, everyone was very friendly not just the bar staff but also everyone who was drinking ... dogs are welcome there is a good selection of beers and lagers. During the whole stay we frequented the pub on most evenings and every time we were welcomed even during the busy Sunday .... we will definitely be backâ

âA fab hotel in a great location. Everything was spotlessly clean and all staff were very friendly and attentive. My only concern prior to our visit was whether taxis would be available to take us into Holmfirth (wow! what a fab friendly little town) and back. But there is an abundance of local taxis and staff on reception were more than happy to arrange taxis for us. It made for a memorable and enjoyable weekend despite our heaviest loss since 1966 at Elland Road. Thanks for having us - The lads and lasses from Cardiff City FCđ PS Fantastic cooked breakfasts too!â
