Nice little pub on the bridge in ripponden nice area outside to sit or eat inside in the beautifully old walls. Good selection of AF drinks always a winner 🏆 The food was nice and well presented. Service was good although a bit slow but didn't take away from a great experience. I had the pepper and spinach chilli and my partner had the Cajun chicken loaded fries 🍟

Wonderful little pub/eatery. Established in 1307. It's like taking a stope back in time eating here. The food was exceptional 👌 The service was brilliant, they have lovely friendly staff. Beautiful location next to the river. Would highly recommend if you want lovely food in a lovely place.

We come back here, year after year. The service is very warming & made welcome. The Sunday Lunch of Roast Beef is absolutely Devine, faultless in fact. Dessert was Biscoff & Mars Bar cheese cake with ice-cream & Cherry Bakewell with Custard.

One of our favourite local places to walk to! The staff are really wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable - couldn't be better! The food is great and the menu has definitely improved over the last few months with plenty of options to choose from. The pie and peas were so good! The bar bakes are a must - absolutely delicious with a special offer if you buy a hot drink! A fabulous pub with great staff and tasty food in the delightful village of Ripponden!

We are local to Hollins Mill so pop in regularly for drinks. Lovely chilled and welcoming atmosphere. Recently had our wedding reception upstairs in the function room. Absolutely fantastic night, Rowena really goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, all staff are brilliant. Very special place to us.

Nice bar this, serving a great selection of cask and keg ales, pies from the maestro that is Gordon at Le Gourmet in Brighouse, always a good pint and really friendly staff with a warm welcome, dog friendly pub, great prices and loads of seating, whats not to love? A must if in the area, highly recommend.

Nice pub in an old mill. Was known as The Works a few years ago. Good place has nice selection of beers. Can also sit outside. There is also a tank in the carpark (must be expecting an attack !). Nice chandeliers made from old wine bottles. Never very busy so easy to get served. Dogs welcome too.

Very pleasant culinary experience. Friendly and well organized staff The restaurant is clean and modernly furnished The only downside is that they don't accept cards and music was a bit loud.

Second time I've been here. Last visit was on 02/04/2024. The food on both occasions was nice from starters to mains. The service was slacking abit on the 2nd visit, had to ask for drinks multiple times. I do feel they have cramped in extra tables which makes the walk ways abit of a hazard.

We ordered the vegetable biryani and it was absolutely amazing the best that my wife has ever had she said. The starters were very nice too. The chicken karahi and fish karahi were really good too absolutely perfect. The service by the waiters was really good aswell. They came over a few times to ask if everything was good and it was . Absolutely recommend for anyone who hasn’t been yet . Amazing food Amazing service Overall amazing

Brilliant venue with down to earth staff and owners. Such a brilliant alternative venue. Great beer and plenty of local cheap parking. Sowerby us alsi takeaway central so you shoukd never go hungry. Best p. A sound Ive had.

Brilliant night for the clash tribute been to a few bands here bars on both floors free entry to all events sound technician did a brilliant job can't wait to see a few more events here one of the best local venues around the owner certainly likes to look after bands and customers

Stayed here for the 2nd time and it was just as good as the first. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and spacious with a lovely king size bed. The chef Chris was amazing with nothing to much trouble and is open to making things that are not on the menu. Breakfast again the quality of the ingredients was top rate. Would recommend to everyone and we will be back again. Thank you John and Sally for a wonderful stay

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night recently. It was a lovely stay. Staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. The room was gorgeous and absolutely spotless. We had breakfast which was really fresh and good value for money. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back again!

Popped in yesterday with friends and I have to say the food was beautiful. We had a very enjoyable day. The staff was so helpful, even the chef came out to ask if the food was nice. We've visited before for dinner, but had our first overnight stay here this weekend. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Food was incredible as always. Special shout out to Emma for the best full English we've ever had! Rooms were immaculate and little touches made us feel incredibly welcome, while also feeling in luxury! Lily also made us feel so well taken care of during our breakfast, what a perfect start to our Sunday! Thank you all for the best stay!

It really is as good as it gets. Extremely well appointed and stylish rooms, Award winning restaurant with cosy bar and comfortable lounges. The staff bring the whole wonderful experience to life. I would love to keep it a secret but we all should experience the Shibden Mill Inn at least once, we hope to make a habit of it. It's worth travelling the length of the country just to enjoy it. This has always and will always be my favourite uk country pub. We are regulars here as it’s on our door step - whether I eat inside or out, upstairs or down, have coffee or just drinks - with or without the children EVERY time it’s perfect! The staff are extremely professional and all the ingredients they use are divine. Plus some of the best walks you could wish for but you can’t avoid a steep ascent 😜

If I had a criticism it was that there was too much salt in the gravy, but that's it, this place is stunning, the staff bloody fantastic and the food absolutely top notch. We came for boxing day and it was worth every penny. We'll be back.

First time visiting and well worth it. The location is beautiful, looking out onto the canal and the town. The chefs were brilliant, the food choice was great and the food was amazing. I'd highly recommend the starters too, huge portions and very tasty. If you're in Sowerby Bridge, it shouldn't be missed.

Great food and atmosphere. Glad we tried it. Price is borderline acceptable. Because it's all you can eat it's tough to really judge the price. But an average person eating a reasonable amount of food is going to be slightly on the expensive side for the area in my opinion.

An absolute gem of an establishment. Offering amazing views of the canal. We arrived at opening time on a Sunday and had the whole place to ourselves for most of our meal (which was perfect for us). We partook in the unlimited stir fry for £23.50 p/p and it was worth the money, but there is also a main menu available. Getting to create your own combinations of oils, sauces and garnishes was fun (recommendations also provided), the ingredients were fresh and offered a fantastic selection of vegetables, meat and fish. The staff members were friendly and very accommodating. It was a great Sunday lunch and I will be returning many, many more times.

Superbly designed, newish pub, with it's own brewery, excellent outdoor drinking area. The best pert of course being Eight cask ales, 6 of their own & two guests it also serves craft beers

Can I just say wow! We have just stayed at the Alma Inn for two nights and it was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and we sampled a wide variety of the menu. The staff were all very well trained and attentive. They made our stay! The rooms were lovely and dog friendly too. We had room 4, 6 and 7. Room 7 has a roll top bath! The showers in the other rooms were very powerful. Everything was just perfect! If you walk down the hill from the pub there is a nature walk and stream. Brilliant location. We will be back again next year. Thankyou 😀

First time here and very impressed with service and food. Freshly made to order, the tofu green curry and veg spring rolls were very tasty. Lots of choice. Will return 😃
