The Best Restaurants in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

Second time I've been here. Last visit was on 02/04/2024. The food on both occasions was nice from starters to mains. The service was slacking abit on the 2nd visit, had to ask for drinks multiple times. I do feel they have cramped in extra tables which makes the walk ways abit of a hazard.

Came here tonight and had a lovely curry. The flavours were amazing and I really enjoyed it! The only letdown of the evening was like what many have said, we felt very rushed. Me and my friends are quite slow eaters and we were taking our time to enjoy it, and we felt like we were being watched quite a lot. I’d understand if the restaurant was incredibly busy but it wasn’t so I didn’t see the need for this. That being said, we all really enjoyed our food and overall this was a very positive experience.

Very pleasant culinary experience. Friendly and well organized staff The restaurant is clean and modernly furnished The only downside is that they don't accept cards and music was a bit loud.

We are local to Hollins Mill so pop in regularly for drinks. Lovely chilled and welcoming atmosphere. Recently had our wedding reception upstairs in the function room. Absolutely fantastic night, Rowena really goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, all staff are brilliant. Very special place to us.

Nice pub in an old mill. Was known as The Works a few years ago. Good place has nice selection of beers. Can also sit outside. There is also a tank in the carpark (must be expecting an attack !). Nice chandeliers made from old wine bottles. Never very busy so easy to get served. Dogs welcome too.

Went to see a great band, Owter Zeds, during the festival weekend. Big place with a great atmosphere and a good choice of cask ales.

Stayed here for the 2nd time and it was just as good as the first. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and spacious with a lovely king size bed. The chef Chris was amazing with nothing to much trouble and is open to making things that are not on the menu. Breakfast again the quality of the ingredients was top rate. Would recommend to everyone and we will be back again. Thank you John and Sally for a wonderful stay

Friendly and pleasant staff. Big tvs, cheap drinks and friendly customers to talk to. What more can you want. Cosy atmosphere and large smoking shelter

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night recently. It was a lovely stay. Staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. The room was gorgeous and absolutely spotless. We had breakfast which was really fresh and good value for money. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back again!

Popped in yesterday with friends and I have to say the food was beautiful. We had a very enjoyable day. The staff was so helpful, even the chef came out to ask if the food was nice. Definitely will be back. We should support out little country pubs so if you are.ever passing pop in. Dog friendly too. Thank you guys We will be back x

Awesome atmosphere. Excellent friendly staff. The perfect place for an afternoon drink. Gets better every time you visit. Absolutely superb. Cannot recommend this place enough. Always the best.

Superbly designed, newish pub, with it's own brewery, excellent outdoor drinking area. The best pert of course being Eight cask ales, 6 of their own & two guests it also serves craft beers

Very expensive pints but very yummy can be very busy but upstairs is brilliant for larger groups. I would not suggest coming here if you are easily attracted to men with big muscles and long black hair, he’s taken ladies and gentlemen!

Great food and atmosphere. Glad we tried it. Price is borderline acceptable. Because it's all you can eat it's tough to really judge the price. But an average person eating a reasonable amount of food is going to be slightly on the expensive side for the area in my opinion.

Have visited temujin various times over the years has been a while since we last visited. Sunday afternoon tea/dinner 4pm. quiet inside only 1 other table eating so quick to be seated. 5 mins or so to get drinks ordered. As we went for the endless stir fry rice was delivered with the drinks and off we went. large range of options on oils sauce spice etc for cooking the raw ingredients you pick. good range of protein and veg with the odd choice (kangaroo) for today. large variety of desserts to choose from. Will be visiting again.

First time visiting and well worth it. The location is beautiful, looking out onto the canal and the town. The chefs were brilliant, the food choice was great and the food was amazing. I'd highly recommend the starters too, huge portions and very tasty. If you're in Sowerby Bridge, it shouldn't be missed.

Wonderful little pub/eatery. Established in 1307. It's like taking a stope back in time eating here. The food was exceptional 👌 The service was brilliant, they have lovely friendly staff. Beautiful location next to the river. Would highly recommend if you want lovely food in a lovely place.

Had a wonderful meal here with other half and 2 friends. The beef pie was beautiful, burger was great too.. the cheesecake was one of the nicest I've ever had. Lemon and ginger.. ☺️👍🏻friends had the chocolate brownie and chocolate fudge cake, both were great.. staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Will definitely be coming back.

Nice little pub on the bridge in ripponden nice area outside to sit or eat inside in the beautifully old walls. Good selection of AF drinks always a winner 🏆 The food was nice and well presented. Service was good although a bit slow but didn't take away from a great experience. I had the pepper and spinach chilli and my partner had the Cajun chicken loaded fries 🍟

One of our favourite local places to walk to! The staff are really wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable - couldn't be better! The food is great and the menu has definitely improved over the last few months with plenty of options to choose from. The pie and peas were so good! The bar bakes are a must - absolutely delicious with a special offer if you buy a hot drink! A fabulous pub with great staff and tasty food in the delightful village of Ripponden!

Absolutely phenomenal little alternative music venue, they host and support a variety of local bands both popular and just kicking off and they've always got something for everyone to get excited about lined up throughout the year.

Brilliant venue with down to earth staff and owners. Such a brilliant alternative venue. Great beer and plenty of local cheap parking. Sowerby us alsi takeaway central so you shoukd never go hungry. Best p. A sound Ive had.

Loved it! Great pub with a nice atmosphere. We went in for some food and drinks after a walk around the local countryside. Got to say the steak and smoked cheese pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long, long time! I hope I can visit again soon. The pub itself is lovely, it has a large beer garden with a view over the surrounding fields. It's dog friendly and more than enough parking. Definitely drop in if you're near by

This has always and will always be my favourite uk country pub. We are regulars here as it’s on our door step - whether I eat inside or out, upstairs or down, have coffee or just drinks - with or without the children EVERY time it’s perfect! The staff are extremely professional and all the ingredients they use are divine. Plus some of the best walks you could wish for but you can’t avoid a steep ascent 😜

If I had a criticism it was that there was too much salt in the gravy, but that's it, this place is stunning, the staff bloody fantastic and the food absolutely top notch. We came for boxing day and it was worth every penny. We'll be back.

I really enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere in the restaurant, we were a party of five, and as soon as we arrived we were treated very professionally, the table was perfect and comfortable. Although a little close to another dinners,The staff were very officiant. Good choice on the menu. I had A starter of duck liver pate, but didn't feel it had much flavour 5/10. My main was a very tasty Pork dish, with a great tasting black pudding. There was too much red cabbage but the cauliflower cheese was very nice. A good selection of drinks. Other members were disappointed with the Yorkshire Pudding which was very dry and burned. The gravy was already on the plate and would have been better in a gravy boat. I finished with the best even Sticky toffee pudding 9 /10. The price was very reasonable l had a really good experience, thank you will recommend.

It really is as good as it gets. Extremely well appointed and stylish rooms, Award winning restaurant with cosy bar and comfortable lounges. The staff bring the whole wonderful experience to life. I would love to keep it a secret but we all should experience the Shibden Mill Inn at least once, we hope to make a habit of it. It's worth travelling the length of the country just to enjoy it. I have eaten here about 5 times now and I absolutely love this place. The food is awesome, the service is spot on and if you sit out back the views are pretty nice too. I went on a Monday at about 4pm and a lot of the menu was half price so that was an extra bonus.

We got married at the Fleece in October 24, the staff were so helpful, the day ran like a well oiled machine! The food was lovely and the rooms are beautiful. Thanks again to the Fleece for such a wonderful day

Such a fantastic location looking down the valley. The room was lovely and the girlfriend was over the moon for her birthday. Super choices for dinner and a great breakfast, all cooked and presented well. All staff were welcoming, polite and chatty. Room 5 with its freestanding bath is superb.
