Watched this takeaway on a YouTube review, and couldn't wait to see how good it was. I've family and friends in this town, but I'd never heard of them before, so I didn't quite know what to expect. It's not your usual takeaway or mobile kitchen, so I was a bit apprehensive, with just a wooden paneled serving window and an exit door. However, please don't let that put you off. Once you engage with the staff, you feel appreciated and a welcomed customer. Whilst placing your order you are supported through your choices and guided towards making the right choices. They don't just ask what you want, they appear to actually care about giving you what they believe you'll enjoy (after all, they know what it actually tastes like). After ordering, we waited approximately 5 minutes for the order to be brought to our car, and I knew from the weight of the bag, we were in for a treat. 2 cans of lemon Fanta for only £2 tells you everything you need to know about this operation. Too many places would have charged you £1.50 a can, so hats off before I've even sunk my teeth into my meal. You are given an opportunity of eating on the outside seating, or within your vehicle, but we chose to drive into the beautiful countryside close by and stop at the side of the road looking over the Hooten Pagnall valley. Wow, what a taste sensation that was. I started on a Brunch Burger and was not disappointed. Smashed Sausage pattie Smashed Beef pattie Fried egg Mini hash browns Streaky smoked baco Their sauces. OMG WOW, Without doubt, I've never had a burger with as much taste in my life And the pretzel bread buns are fantastic. This was supported with the loaded fries, which appeared to be normal french fries, drowned in cheese, sauce, (we chose chicken), slaw and crusty bits, which again were to die for. We finished it all off with halloumi cheese salad, which was full of sauce, salad (lettuce, onion, cucumber, pickles, jalapeno chillies, secret slaw), and blew our minds. This was my birthday treat from my Fiancé, and she can be happy that mission was accomplished. We will be back. The 40 mile return journey is worth it. Thank you Moonshine Shack 😁

Had a few meals here. Food cooked perfectly to order. Delicious. Would recommend. Really enjoyed the milkshakes too. I mixed two flavours (salted caramel & white chocolate) and absolutely will again! Well worth the asking price.

I visited these guys at their previous location and was blown away, I was pleased to see their hard work was paying off through Instagram having moved to this location, the move hasn’t affected the quality of everything from the box the burgers are served in to the most important thing, the food 😋 These guys know how it’s done 😍 The food is absolutely incredible and I’ve just finished this week’s special, it’s all special but not at expensive prices👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Never seen onion rings that big before, the meat is perfect, just the right amount of sauce, bacon crispy, just can’t praise the whole experience more. Make a date and get here, just drop in for a homemade burger on the way home, get ya friends and family here for a party, treat your partner to a intimate dinner 😍 you won’t regret it 😋

The Moonshine Shack is a refreshing new addition to the South Elmsall food scene. It feels like they put a lot of thought and care into their food! Nacho Libre came with standard nacho crisps with a tangy, rich cheese sauce that tastes like real cheese. Picked jalapeños give a satisfying sharp contrast to the cheese sauce. There was a delicious grilled flavour on the beef, which was tender and proper meat. The burger had flavourful salsa, guacamole, and a mild and refreshing sour cream, so the burger was saucy with a lot of mexican flavour. It was a little bit too salty for my taste. The Mexican cheese added a nice mouth-warming spice, and was caramelised around the edges which is a great touch, something you'd want from a proper burger but is often overlooked. £10 for the burger, nachos, and a drink, which I think is a great price for a good quality meal! The choice of a pretzel bun is unique, and adds a depth of flavour. Soft and slightly chewy texture which was good at holding the burger together. Nothing was wet, even in the Nacho Libre which had the sauces. Sweet and soft sweet potato fries. Skin on fries were nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The fried food has a nice flavour remeniscent of the seaside, but wasnt greasy or burnt tasting oil. The garlic mayo is garlicky, thick, and a little tangy. The chicken in the chips had a moreish seasoned flavour with tasty spices, and was well cooked, soft and tender. The red cabbage on top was crispy and not wet. The blue cheese sauce was not overwhelming. The batter on the chicken burger was very crispy and flavourful even inside a burger. All of the chicken felt good quality, well cooked, and not fatty. The grilled chicken was tasty and well cooked, not dry like grilled chicken breast can be sometimes. The raw onions were a fresh bite, but not overwhelming like raw onions can be. Thank You!

Ali's pizza palace recently catered for a birthday party for us. This was planned in advance with such ease, the communication and customer service was great. For such a huge order everything arrived on time and piping hot. All the guests were amazed at the selection and to say everything went down treat is an understatement. I had so many good comments but the compliments go to the staff for outstanding service and quality food. They even sorted me out a cake! Keep doing what your doing pizza palace 👌

I've tried a few different things from here now and it's all top quality! Not only that Ali actually cares what he's serving. There's no other takeaway in the area (that I know of) smashing there own burgers with fresh mince. Making their own tenders with fresh chicken. Everyone else is buying ready made frozen. Most other "pizza shops" round here are even buying in ready made pizza bases. Here he is using quality ingredients made from scratch and even still the box meals are the best value in the area. Top guy doing it right.

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Pizza Palace, and I must say, their pizzas are the best I’ve ever had! They are in a complete league above other takeaways. The dough they use is simply amazing – perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully soft on the inside. Each bite was a burst of flavour , and the toppings were fresh and generously applied. If you’re looking for a top-notch pizza experience, Pizza Palace is the place to go!

Food is always 11/10 everything is I’ve had lots of different things off the menu. This is my favourite takeaway and always the best out of all the takeaways I’ve ever had. Amazing customer service always polite and welcoming looks after his customer too. He buys the best quality in all his foods to ensure he makes the best and most tasty food going. 100% would recommend and if you’ve not tried Ali’s make sure you do and don’t miss out picture of the last order I got for the family and they all loved it. Thanks Ali for amazing food as always 😊

I came here for a friend's birthday and bought some Thai noodles and a hot chocolate, the service was excellent and the food was delicious, we also got a free plate of chips on the house. When we were doing the cake one of the waiters gave us a lighter to light the candles and sparklers on the cake, and all the people there joined in when we sung happy birthday.

Wentbridge House Hotel

Rating: 4.6 (1076) Price Level:

Always loved this place. I know hospitality isn’t easy. Just a point, the prawn cocktail which is usually awesome, was slightly cheated last time. Piece of lemon buried out of slight, packing out the surface look, and the prawns supplemented with tiny cray. Still a smashing venue either for weddings, or intimate dining.

The Sunday lunch here is exceptional—one of the best I've had! While it's on the pricier side, the quality makes it worth it. The restaurant itself is beautifully renovated after the recent refurbishment. However, the experience with the reception staff was disappointing. When I called to book a table for five, I was told it wasn’t possible, and the person on the phone was quite unhelpful. Given that the restaurant was nearly empty, I didn't understand the issue, so I ended up booking two separate tables and had them combined when we arrived, which wasn’t a problem. Other than that, the overall experience was fantastic!

Our wedding day at Wentbridge House was absolutely perfect! The venue itself was stunning both inside and out, creating a beautiful backdrop for our special day. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was truly outstanding; our guests are still raving about how wonderful it was! A special thank you goes to Chloe for her meticulous arrangements leading up to the big day, and to Karen, who made our wedding day so personal and memorable. Her attention to detail and genuine care helped create an unforgettable experience for us both. All the staff were brilliant, proactive in everything, and incredibly supportive. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our love! During the planning of our wedding, we visited many of the different rooms in both the original and new parts of the hotel, and they were all immaculate. Our bridal suite on the day was perfect. To all the staff at Wentbridge House, thank you so much for making our day so special! X

Been to Subz a number of times and it’s been amazing to see this business grow! It’s recently had a revamp and the front of house is so inviting. We've always mainly had breakfast, our orders have varied from a full English to a BEST sub roll to a breakfast wrap. Nothing is too much trouble for this team and the food is always hot, fresh and tasty. The new coffee machine they’ve had installed is a great edition, highly recommend a cappuccino. You’ll be blown away with the value for money you get and in my opinion, the pictures of my food speak for themselves.

The Blue Bell Inn

P: 01977 620697

Rating: 4.5 (990) Price Level:

Lovely place for food, in particular! Theres loads of parking and street parking. The staff are welcoming and plentiful; we didn’t have to wait long, even at lunch, Sunday 12:30 The atmosphere was good. I didn’t notice any music on reflection; just the business of the place. That said, everyone is spaced well and it doesn’t feel stuffy. The menu is classically British and full of lovely choices, all of which look stunning when they come out. I had rosemary roasted chicken with red wine jus which was tender, and a very nicely-sized portion. The food was hot throughout and hasn’t been left standing. Desert was a crumble, apple and raspberry. It was tart, sweet and had crunch to the crumble. The custard was lovely. Very nice indeed. Those plus a pot of tea were less than £30 with a tip; not bad for good quality food! Upstairs they have a pizza oven and my friend says they are delicious stone baked pizzas. Outside there’s about 10 double-sided benches with large brollies; it was drizzling but we were dry and it was scenic!

We were a bit late getting onto our table but I think this was due to the previous diners taking their (very sweet) time in finishing up! Great choice of dishes, something for everyone & a good choice of specials too. The food was delicious, everyone in our party of 10 enjoyed what they had. Beautiful building with traditional interior & friendly & helpful staff. Thanks for my birthday meal X ♥️

Managed to hit on very lucky - Got deal on Groupon for 1 night in a luxury suite including 2 course evening meal and breakfast for 2 for £160. It was money well spent. The room was absolutely beautiful and so clean. It was even decorated for Christmas and we had our own Christmas tree. The room was 2 floors - king size bed (most comfortable mattress and pillows and bedding) with a little longer area upstairs and a huge bathroom! The food was to die for. Best salmon I have ever had! The staff were lovely, so chatty and friendly. I 100% reccomend this place!

First time in for the carvery and thoroughly enjoyed it and the food was great my only criticism/comment ( and it's the same at every carvery I've been to ) the selection of meat was beef, turkey, pork and gammon 1 dark meat and 3 light meats but only one beef gravy. Could do with a gravy to complement the light meats as I chose pork and gammon so why would I want a beef gravy. Still a really nice Sunday dinner keep it up
