Honestly I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this, the food is amazing beyond expectations, the service is lovely, will definitely be back ! It’s amazing 10/10 recommendation

Really great place! Can't believe it was the discount store before... They have turned it into a beautiful little restaurant with an open kitchen. Lovely atmosphere & delicious food. The staff had a nice vibe going on with eachother which was good to see too! Thanks for a super time XXX ❤️

Visited La Rokka for the first time tonight. A warm greeting, cosy atmosphere, and delicious food (the steak was excellent!). Thank you for a lovely time! (The pictures show the garlic mushrooms, garlic bread with mozzarella, mix fish, and steak.)

Held my grandaughter's baby shower here. It was self catered but the staff were very helpful and the room was lovely.

Beautiful food, lovely outdoor area as well as inside. Extremely reasonably priced on food, but can be difficult to get a table inside due to popularity, so you may have to wait a little while before getting a seat.

Great pizzas and Sunday lunch! We’ve been here a few times for family meals as well as date nights. Good beer options, loads of space outside and wonderful staff

Very warm welcome, big pizzas at fair prices, drink fairly priced also. The whole pub and grounds has been renovated to a very nice old/modern look standard. Definitely will return

Amazing place for food. We love it. Cannot beat the pizzas. Shame it gets so busy but tables turn over quick enough. Some staff are a bit Whingy and get emotional about extra garlic mayonnaise but apart form that… all good.

Haven't been for a long time but been tonight for my birthday had a great night food a plenty highly recommend

We went out impromptu tonight (we had an offer of childcare and took advantage for our first date night in over a year!) We landed, by chance, at Ash’s Balti after another place was closed and I am so glad we did. The food was amazing (masala fish was the highlight, and the hydrabadi balti was just fabulous) but what made the evening was the hosting of the staff. I felt like I was in someone’s home- there was such a sense of care for the food and for the customer. I think this is now officially my favourite restaurant.

Delicious food! Great menu but also great food on specials board to try! I had wild boar burger and it was delicious! Staff are lovely and friendly and very accommodating for babies & prams, will help you warm bottles and baby changing available! Can't wait to return!

Came here for brunch with a friend. Quaint little spot located in Wakefield. We ordered goat cheese starters with homemade sandwiches and chunky chips. Food was deliciously and good size portions. Sandwiches could be served on a selection of breads. We sat in the outside annex which was super lovely. What topped the experience for me was the incredible service from a lovely lady called Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble. She definitely made our experience - she is a credit to the team.

I had organised a meal for 17 people aged from 3 years to 80 years. The communication from the staff was brilliant from the beginning. On the evening nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the menu options are fab. Need to note that the gluten free menu has so many options which you don't often see. I would certainly hold a celebration meal here again. Thank you!

What a wonderful hidden gem. The food is out of this world. Reasonable priced, too, which is an added bonus. We had our gender reveal here today they catered for 20 guests. All the food orders were correct. They did separate bills to save time at the end. The staff was brilliant and helped us dress the tables ready for our guests. To which every guest commented how wonderful the place and food were. The only downfall is that the car park is really small, but cars can be parked close by . Highly recommend.

We have been to the cobbler a couple of times and it's always a hit. Huge portions, great value for money and tasty food!

We haven't been in for a long time and don't know why !! Very quick service and friendly staff along with a massive menu to choose from also a fully carvery. We had planned to get desserts too but honestly the starter and mains were so big we just had no room left !

The food was really good with a great selection on the menu and a carvery. We opted for a large and a regular carvery and spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. The portion sizes are very generous, and they offer a takeaway container if you don't eat it all. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the pub itself is warm and welcoming. This will now be a regular for us for food. We were definitely impressed.

Great service and great food. A warm welcome on arrival, we were quickly seated and our order taken. Food came out fast and was delicious, and portions were generous. We stopped here while travelling further north, and we were very pleased we did.

A very nice place to eat, the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. Unfortunately this is another establishment that does not stock zero alcohol wine, they stock a couple of lagers but no wine. More people are turning to non alcoholic drinks especially if you are the nominated driver.

Lovely place for food, in particular! Theres loads of parking and street parking. The staff are welcoming and plentiful; we didn’t have to wait long, even at lunch, Sunday 12:30 The atmosphere was good. I didn’t notice any music on reflection; just the business of the place. That said, everyone is spaced well and it doesn’t feel stuffy. The menu is classically British and full of lovely choices, all of which look stunning when they come out. I had rosemary roasted chicken with red wine jus which was tender, and a very nicely-sized portion. The food was hot throughout and hasn’t been left standing. Desert was a crumble, apple and raspberry. It was tart, sweet and had crunch to the crumble. The custard was lovely. Very nice indeed. Those plus a pot of tea were less than £30 with a tip; not bad for good quality food! Upstairs they have a pizza oven and my friend says they are delicious stone baked pizzas. Outside there’s about 10 double-sided benches with large brollies; it was drizzling but we were dry and it was scenic!

Excellent food, we had breakfast, best I’ve had in a long time, and dinner which was equally good. I’m often disappointed with hotel food but not at Wentbridge House. The staff were all friendly and efficient, our room was clean and appeared to have been decorated recently.

Our wedding day at Wentbridge House was absolutely perfect! The venue itself was stunning both inside and out, creating a beautiful backdrop for our special day. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was truly outstanding; our guests are still raving about how wonderful it was! A special thank you goes to Chloe for her meticulous arrangements leading up to the big day, and to Karen, who made our wedding day so personal and memorable. Her attention to detail and genuine care helped create an unforgettable experience for us both. All the staff were brilliant, proactive in everything, and incredibly supportive. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our love! During the planning of our wedding, we visited many of the different rooms in both the original and new parts of the hotel, and they were all immaculate. Our bridal suite on the day was perfect. To all the staff at Wentbridge House, thank you so much for making our day so special! X

Always loved this place. I know hospitality isn’t easy. Just a point, the prawn cocktail which is usually awesome, was slightly cheated last time. Piece of lemon buried out of slight, packing out the surface look, and the prawns supplemented with tiny cray. Still a smashing venue either for weddings, or intimate dining.

Had afternoon tea with 4 of my siblings and their partners. Lovely tea plenty to eat and drink. Had a large table in a room of our own

Lovely restaurant, food looked absolutely amazing and everyone had a smile. 1st time trying here and came on a friends recommendation. We were booked in for 7pm and it was very busy so had to wait a little for our table but our orders were taken while waiting and once we were seated our food wasn’t long before it was served. We all had something different and we all enjoyed. The decor made you feel you were sat in a taverna. However I did think it could have done with having a little spruce up. The staff were pleasant and friendly and I believe we spoke to the owner who gave us a limoncello with our bill. All in all a lovely evening out.

Had my 60th birthday here. Brought 40 family and friends during Christmas week! The team weren’t fazed at all and we had seamless slick service. Gino and the team couldn’t be more accommodating to make sure I had a night to remember. A brilliant family run restaurant I would highly recommend. Thanks guys!!

Went along today with my old Dad, where we met two friends. The staff are very welcoming, and wonderfully efficient. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I had the Turkey dinner, and it was superb. Loads of meat, and nicely cooked veg along with roast and mash potato. All of it nice and hot. Absolutely wonderful meal. A lovely place to go for a meal, whatever the occasion. The staff are an absolute credit. It's nice to find such a friendly, welcoming place. I'll definitely go again.🍽️👍.

Came here for a meal with my dad and had a lovely time. There was a wide variety of dishes on the menu, definitly something for everyone. We opted of the homemade steak and ale pie and the fish. Both dishes were lovely. You can tell that the food is made with care and everything is homemade. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxing and the staff were also very nice and friendly. There was a large selection of drinks available too. A great spot to eat and drink in Ackworth 👌 Thank you to the angel team for having us 😊

Had a birthday celebration at lunchtime the food, service and atmosphere couldn't have been better. Excellent value and great tasting home cooked food. Can tell it's all freshly made. Thank you. Recommend without a doubt.

Went for dinner (booked) last night (Saturday) we are not regulars but do go about every 6 weeks. From start to finish it was a lovely experience, drinks ordered and served to the table, fantastic menu and food was amazing - perfect portion sizes (large!) Our waitress was a lady called Cass and was absolutely what made our evening so nice, attentive without being in your face, knowledgeable and polite. The other waitresses seemed to be providing a similar service to other tables. Clearly a good management team. Well done 👍
