We stopped here on the way further north for a pit stop and very pleasantly surprised. Very welcoming pub. Spotlessly clean, friendly service and we both had an excellent burger. Also made our dog feel welcome with treats and pooh bags available at the entrance.

Wow! Just been took over and the new landlady and her team are off to a great start! Staff are super efficient and friendly too. The place is wonderful and so welcoming. Cosy corner, comfy settees and plenty of tables to dine at. A great experienced chef in the kitchen bringing out some great food with more to come when the kitchen opens fully very soon! Super dog friendly but areas to sit without dogs too. Loads planned by the sounds of it too from theme nights, food tasting, music etc. Great range of beers and wines to suit all tastes, cannot believe what has been done in just 1 week! Looks like we have found our new venue!
Rating: 5 / 5
Spur of the moment, as we drove past, we thought we would pop in for some pub lunch. Inside was spacious, clean, and plenty of spaces to sit at. Despite the kitchen being refurbished and the venue having a limited menu, the food choice was decent. We went for the meat feast pizza and chicken strips with Mayo dip. (See pictures attached) The service was quick, and the food was great. Pizza wasn't greasy. Chicken strips were cooked just right. The price was reasonable. The only thing I could mark it down for is the atmosphere, but with it being quiet here if you like quiet, then here would be perfect for you. Would recommend visiting for a quick bite to eat if you were ever passing by.

This place is easily the best takeaway in the entire area! Proper smash burgers, with fresh (not frozen) smash patties. Kebab meat is quality meat that tastes freshly cooked, rather than frozen and reheated. The pizzas are amazing too, fresh dough with a crispy crust without being over done. People may say it's a bit more expensive than other places, but you get what you pay for and for me this is still great value for money. This is the only place we will order a takeaway treat from now. I mean just look at that thing of beauty!

Proper friendly group. Really nice food. The chicken tenders aren't dry and have flavour. The pizza is dripping with cheese and they don't shirk on the toppings. And the smash burgers are brilliant.

Very Nice food compared to other local Chinese takeaways, portion sizes are decent enough would like to see large fried rice available? Had a hickup last time we ordered missed out 2 curry sauce pots so had to drive up to get them as it was a pretty long wait for the food in the first place around an hour and 20mins. I would recommend people to try it

I was starving and needed a kebab to fill my hungry tummy, large portion size was perfect and the kebab was spectacularly tasty with nice crispy chips. Fresh crunchy salad although it would of been nice to have more salad. Defo best kebab in the area and all for a good price, very happy customer 🙂

Had a beautiful meal here tonight, mixed grill was brilliant, Hunter chicken for the son in law, steak for the daughter and roast dinner for the wife. Everything was well cooked & plenty my of it, the highlight though is the staff they were all friendly, attentive and very pleasant. We will call again. Used to live in south Elmsal 35 years ago and there’s been different ones here but it definitely has to be the best it’s ever been. Well done guys. You well deserved the five stars, and the tip 😉

Had the carvery Fantastic value for very generous portion. Ordered a cake away Ordered 2 portions but 1 portion would have been plenty enough for 2. Was served by a server called Ian who was very helpful, friendly and a very funny guy will definitely come again and would highly recommend

We came out for tea with the kids and was served at the bar by Ian. Lovely friendly bloke. The food was great. We ordered cake away for afters and wow the portion sizes were more than generous. Ian told us to sit back at our table and he would bring the cake out to us which he did along with bags to take it away. Can't fault the service it was amazing from start to finish.

We called in for the first time on Sunday for breakfast after our usual carvery was basically queueing out of the door. The atmosphere was really calm and relaxing, music in the background not too loud. Staff all pleasant and smiling. Lots of space, lots of free tables. We went for the buffer breakfast, choice was fine, and everything tasted great, food not greasy and piping hot. Tea and coffee station fully stocked. The bacon was very crisp which was perfect for me, maybe not for some. Overall a really lovely relaxing Sunday morning breakfast, we will return.

We went after 2 on Saturday when the mad rush of lunch time had ended. As we had my grandson, we had to sit in the children's area. There were a lot of tables which needed cleaning and had food all over the floor from previous visiting children. We had to ask for a table to be wiped over, the bar assistant did this for us as the servers appeared a bit overwhelmed (and grumpy, one older lady said its not her area to the guy behind the bar) The food was nice as it usually is, just a little dry on some of the carvery options as it had been under the heat lamps for a little while. I chatted to the lovely lady who carved the meat. She had only been there a few weeks. She was very friendly and lotto talk to which was OK as it was quiet and no one waiting behind me. My grandson loves the play area, which entertains him whilst we wait for food to arrive. We used the app to place the order, and the carvery tickets arrived with the drinks. The guy behind the bar is always really lovely and helpful every time we visit. He can't do enough for you and always has a smile. (He has a large red beard, nice chap) There are plenty of parking spaces in the free car park. I had the small carvery, which is very filling, especially if you're like me and can make shutters on the edge of the plate and pile it well 😉. There are two gravy options, I like the plain meat gravy, which is lovely and thick. My grandson also had a carvery, and my daughter had hunters chicken. She's quite a fussy eater but this is one of her go to meals when we visit.

Me and my partner like to come for Sunday dinner most weekends but after falling pregnant we’ve recently struggled to find the time to travel up as it a 45 minute drive from where we live. However we really fancied a carvery and have been up the last two weekends and also made the journey in the week for our tea and dessert. Never had a bad meal and the staff are all so lovely and accommodating the food is worth the travel!

Gem of a place situated off the beaten track. Friendly staff, lovely well presented pub/restaurant with lots of seating to cater for all group sizes. The food was delicious and is quite reasonable in price considering the quality and portion sizes. The Rustic Arms also has a great outdoor area with a wooden playground for kids. Would definitely recommend but hope it doesnt get too busy😁😉
