Richard ticked every box. He listened to me and was really interested in my dog He used a holistic approach which meant my dog was relaxed and happy. He showed us what we needed to know for at home grooming. I have no doubt that my dog will become eager to return. What more could I ask.

My Border Terrier Bertie looks the bee's knees after his hand strip and full groom today. Richard has a calm disposition which put Bertie at ease straight away. We highly recommend Top Dogs! Especially for terriers needing hand stripping.

This place!! I dont have enough praise for these guys. My dog Frank was in there more then he was out. He loved going here, me not so much. But the love, attention and care he got from every vet he saw there was amazing. It was hard to see him go but knowing he'd been cared for so much by this vets helped heal a little. The receptionist we're also as amazing. Getting him in as soon as possible. I'll always be thankful.

Fabulous practice and staff, very approachable and personable. Make you feel very welcome and obviously love animals, can leave your pet knowing they are in safe hands. Alerted me when my dog was rehomed 3 months ago in a difference area turned up at thr vets 3 months later been dumped they were amazing looked after her til I got to collect her

Our dog suddenly fell ill, and without going into detail, was massively let down by our regular vet. Desperate for help, I rang Hird & Partners who gave me some advice and then after several back-and-forth phone calls with his usual vet (to no avail), saw him the same night, treated him, and saw him several times within a couple of months before eventually being put to sleep. They were compassionate and helpful throughout and the vets and reception staff really seemed to genuinely care. The only regret I have is not bringing our dog here from the beginning. I cannot thank Hird & Partners enough for buying us the extra time with our beloved family pet - thank you all! Update: today we received a sympathy card from the vets - a very nice, and appreciated, touch!

Great practice, easy to get appointments and always seen in a timely manner. Vets and staff are kind and caring and make a fuss over my elderly cat, so she likes them very much.

Hird’s are second to none. They looked after my beautiful boy, Barclay throughout his life including a major operation. And they were there at the very end at our home. I can not recommend them highly enough. Every single member of staff I’ve had the privilege of dealing with has been highly professional, sensitive and with a genuine love of animals!

I accidentally gave a 2 star review the other day. This was a mistake. Hirds are excellent veterinarians, I was assisting my sister and her 4 cats for their annual weigh in before flea/worming at Hirds in Walsden. To say we had to deal with 4 nervous cats between 3 of us the vet was excellent. She was quick, professional and put my sister at ease, treated the cats exceptionally well and explained everything perfectly. Excellent job.

My dog went for a spay on the 15th April. The care before after and during was fantastic my dog was a little nervous and they recognised this and let her feel comfortable first before examining her. Her recovery was amazing she was back to herself in a couple of days. She's here on the evening of when she was spayed. 🐾

We brought our chow chow puppy to Cat when he was 9 weeks for a 1-1, then signed up to the puppy class (6 week course) and a loose lead walking class. Everyone who knows about the chow chow breed knows they’re stubborn (but beautiful) things and Cat worked her magic on our little Chai. Chai is now such a chilled out puppy who doesn’t pull on his lead 80% of the time (he is a puppy after all) and is improving everyday. Very good at basic but essential commands and sits in a pub no problem for a few hours! Could not have asked for any more! He now also sits in front of the training centre during his walks as he loved class so much…

I've attended three of Cat's courses with my little cocker spaniel Hector. Not only have we both learnt loads, and his behaviour is better, but my bond with him has improved, and we've both had lots of fun. Highly recommend Cat's positive methods

Highly recommend Cat! We booked our 1 year old puppy in for a 121 recall session as we had explored all options and nothing seemed to have worked. After 1 session with Cat, it was like we had a new dog. We didn't know what to expect and more importantly if it would work but I can honestly say, Cat is worth every penny. Cat took time to understand our dog to see what would and wouldn't work for him and it has made a huge impact on his behaviour outside. We can't thank Cat enough. Cat is so friendly and easy to talk to which made the training session not only relaxing for us but more enjoyable for our dog. 10/10 service.

There was a special training session done for senior dogs and we joined it with our two 13 and 14 year old rescues. It was an amazing teaching moment for us as much as it was for the dogs. Cat is one amazing trainer with loads of patience.

This is so much more than just a field with a fence around it, it's a huge adventure playground for dogs! It's got a wooded area, obstacles, a bathtub filled with sand, wide open grassy areas that have been allowed to grow wild, and of course totally secure so you can rest easy knowing your dog is safe to run around and explore. And as a bonus the location is up and above Hebden Bridge so you get those stunning views from the hillside too. Because it's not primped and preened field, it's the perfect place to work on your dog's training in a more realistic outdoor environment akin to where they might one day be off-lead "in the real world". I was able to work on my dog's recall in an exciting, distraction location, even being able to hide out of sight and let him come and find me (something that would be much riskier to practice in a non-secure environment). It is on a hillside so a sturdy pair of shoes is a must, especially in wetter weather. I did wander round the perimeter myself to check it was all secure, it's clear they've put a lot of thought and effort into setting it up and making sure it's safe, with sturdy high fences and double gates at the entrance. We could easily have stayed another hour, my dog certainly would have loved to. Depending how demand grows it would be nice to have lower prices for off-peak times and also some discounted 2hr sessions. I went at 11am on a weekday and there was noone there in the hour before or after us. £10 for the hour is good value in itself, but when it's that quiet it seems a good opportunity to offer some more enticing deals for longer sessions. Thank you for opening this fantastic facility, we'll be back for more soon!

Amazing dog park. First time attending and i will 100% book again to practice recall. Its secure and ive got an escape artist pup and it kept him securely in. Great views and natural beauty. Best place for your pooches 🐶🐾

The best dog park in West Yorkshire. This is by far the best one, huge area with lots of changing areas to keep dogs entertained. There are large open areas, “furniture” for them to jump/dig/climb etc, wooded and long grass areas. We travel past several others to come here because it’s so much better and our dog enjoys it so much more

Had my dogs registered here for over 2 years now, and i have to say i not disappointed at all so far. Both my American xl bullies and my french bulldog are in the pet health club, so all the fleaing and wormimg medication is included. Recently, I had my xl bullies neutered and spayed. The procedures were done with precision and minimal scarring, and they both received 25% off the total amounts due to the pet health club. The majority of staff are lovely and took a shine to my babies straight away. They received 5* service hands down,i only wish it was closer to me, lol.

Receptionists are so lovely and friendly, Jennifer is a really lovely vet, always listens to the owner and takes her time to help you. Her experience and professionalism shines through. In my years I have seen many vets owning Dogs and horses. It's lovely to have a vet that's friendly, has an amazing way with the dog and is very experianced. All the vets are lovely and caring I have seen at Yorkshire vets but Jennifer is the one I will see if I can win my two dogs. Good experience throughout

Vet grace came out to my pony yesterday after he had a fall in the field, she gave my pony a very in depth examination the decided to X-ray,finding a fracture to my pony’s pedal bone. Grace spoke through all next steps with my pony we didnt feel rushed. Will certainly be using Grace again. I couldn’t Thankyou enough for the care given to my boy x

For over 30 years I’ve been a client and had numerous of horses cared for along the way by Hirds . Peter is an amazing vet, finding most issues straight away. Tim is amazing and we thank him again for all that time done for our horses. We have our riding school horses cared for the past 17 years and Hirds are professional and caring. We also use Hirds small animal in Halifax town for our other animals. Thank you to every team member as there are so many team members taking part in our horses care. Since moving vets this is the first time I have had to bring one of dogs. He is usually a very nervous dog but right away, we were met by friendly staff who put ourselves and Archie at ease. This was continued when we met the vet who made archie feel comfortable, didn't try to push products on us, explained possible treatments and costs, and was knowledgeable and friendly throughout. We ledt feeling like even the vet had Archies best interests in mind opposed to trying to rack up the highest bill. Best vets visit since he was a pup, now he's 8! Would definitely recommend.
