Andy is a pleasure to deal with and makes the whole process so stress free. The reduced fee for repeat customers is a great touch too, you don't see a lot of loyalty incentives these days. It's very nice to see 👌

Andrew saved the day when I needed an AHC at short notice to take my dog to the Netherlands, and was even available at the weekend. He is professional, friendly, responds quickly to emails, and his prices are very reasonable compared to other vets. The website for pre-entering pet and travel details is easy to use. My dog arrived safely and efficiently in the Netherlands with all the right paperwork. Would recommend Andrew to anyone looking to take their pets to the EU. Thanks!

Fantastic service from AHC North. Cannot recommend Andrew highly enough. Quick and easy way to ensure your pet has the correct paperwork to travel. Murphy is loving his holiday touring Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way with his family in the Campervan (see attached pic-he loves a good view.) Thank you! We will be repeat customers for sure 👍

Brilliant service. We've recently returned from a trip to Poland via Netherlands and everything went swimmingly with the health certificate. The service when arranging the certificate in the first place was excellent. I did wonder about the car park meet up when first looking into this, thinking "That's a bit dodgy" but it's all completely above board. Highly recommend and we will be using these services again when we travel to France next summer.

From the reception staff to the surgeon and everyone inbetween we were made to feel cared for and welcome. Lovely Veterinary team. My English is not good, but they always repeat and slow down their speech very patiently, which makes me feel very warm and relaxed, The email communication is very clear, and the charges are transparent and reasonable. After I adopted the cat, I checked all the practices I can find in Leeds. In terms of transportation, price and service, it was the best choice for me. Highly recommend this practice.

"I take my dog, Taffy, to Beechwood Vets in Headingley for her annual vaccinations and health checks. The staff are always incredibly thorough, carefully checking everything and explaining any health concerns clearly. When Taffy needed surgery, they gave us an appointment straight away. Today, she had her surgery, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The reception staff and the entire team were so kind, helpful, and understanding. A particularly lovely lady at reception was so compassionate when I was worried and crying—she took the time to calm me down and reassure me, which meant so much. Their calm and caring attitude made Taffy feel at ease too. The surgery went smoothly, and I’m so grateful for the excellent care they provided. Thank you to everyone at Beechwood-headingley surgery – you’re truly amazing!"

Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

Excellent vets with great service from both the vet and admin team. Have been my vet of choice for 3 dogs now stretching back over nearly 20 years. Building is easy to reach, sharing an access road with the car wash, but with dedicated parking and a small grass area at the front. Ramp access to the front door is easy to manage for the mobility impared. Inside is clean, bright and airy, with toilets available and a small waiting area, including an area especially for those with smaller pets that is marked as a dog-free zone. Reception / admin staff are polite and helpful, greeting customers warmly and happy to say hello to pets and try to put them at ease. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two before being called into the examination rooms. All of the vets I've seen are equally nice, friendly and cheerful, and empathic towards the animals they're treating. The examination rooms are 'compact', but big enough for the job at hand, clean and tidy. Whenever I've taken my dogs in, the vet has always taken the time to try and treat them as kindly as possible, making sure there's a little treat to be had for each injection taken or for being poked and prodded - but it's little things like letting the dog take a moment to sniff the stethescope before they're checked over that I think makes going to the vet a non-traumatic experience for them. Vets have always been happy to discuss treatment options with me and make recommendations for their care, and the prices seem fair and reasonable in my experience. Strongly recommend.

Our cats received expert care for many years and we cannot thank them enough for the compassion shown when our eldest cat passed away earlier this year. I have recommended Oakwood Vets to others and will continue to do so.

Been dealing with Oakwood Veterinary since 2001, never been disappointed. Dr. Kothari is very professional and very straightforward. He did a major surgery on my Husky in 2016 with which I was very satisfied. Very kind and very reasonably priced. I would recommend them to everyone if they're looking for a professional and reasonable veterinary help.

We always have a wonderful experience when visiting the vet and we have to come once a month for our cat's injections. You can tell that the vet really cares about animals and the well being of them. He is highly knowledgeable and only prescribes what is really necessary. I wouldn't go to any other vet after bringing our cat to him.

I have got to know this wonderful vets over the last few months as the charity I foster cats with use them. I absolutely cannot fault them, whether an injection, check over, microchip or major operation every single member of staff is polite and friendly. They clearly care a lot about animals and treat each pet with compassion and love. No question or query is ever too much trouble for them and they have helped put my mind at rest as a new cat fosterer. When my plan ends with the vet I use for my own cats comes to an end later in the year, I want to move them to LVC as I know they will be in excellent hands.

I have come to this vets multiple times for my three hamsters over the last year and we have been seen by Harriet (and the occasionally lovely veterinary student) for all our appointments and she has been amazing despite it being bad news most of the time, incredibly compassionate while also delivering the diagnosis effectively and talking through all our options with us. Harriet is a credit to the team, and every time we've visited we've felt completely welcome by the receptionist team and always felt comfortable that our hamsters were in the best hands possible

Thank you Kim, Sarah, and the reception team for supporting my bunny Dasher (right) and diagnosing his teeth issues. They were amazing at explaining what the possible issues could be and asking about his care in a non-judgemental way. I was very impressed that they gave me an estimate up front of costs and asked whether I'd be comfortable paying for x-rays if required. They answered all my questions in detail and I know I can contact them for advice if he continues to have issues. There was also no admin fee for insurance claims if I paid myself! I'd put off using this vet due to distance but it's well worth it even for my car-hating boys.

I’ve had 3 pets (a dwarf hamster, a gerbil and a rabbit) receive treatment at HHE and every time the care has been absolutely exceptional. It’s clear that everyone from FOH to the student nurses to the vets themselves really, truly care about the critters that come into the practice, and their knowledge and expertise is even clearer. Harriet even managed to perform surgery on my dwarf hamster last year, which must take delicacy and precision that I can only imagine. The whole team is beyond loving and skilled. HHE is the best practice I’ve ever been to and I’ll be bringing my pets here for years to come.

Have taken a couple of kittens here to be neutered and unfortunately our eldest cat go to sleep. The receptionists and vets are absolutely fantastic. They make sure your checked in and seated in the right area and the vets are told your there. The waiting are is always spotlessly clean and if any pets have an accident it's instantly cleaned up and disinfected. The vets are caring and not just there to make money like I have experienced at other vets where they want you to throw money at them to keep a animal going. When our elderly cat had had a diagnosis they were honest and up front and explained everything perfectly which was great for my elderly mother (no wasn't getting her euthanized yet) so I didn't have to explain it to her. The receptionist made sure we were looked after and we were shown to a low lit room with a nice fluffy blanket for our cat. After it was complete we were given a card with a collection of paw prints. This made a sad time easier. Other vets can charge £15 and over for print. If you want a place to take your loved fur / non fur babies to be cured , fixed etc then go here as the service is second to none.

I have my own doggy daycare and boarding business and every time I have had to use this practice I have been impressed with all of the staff. My own dog has had to come a lot recently and the nurses are lovely with him. They are always so friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in person. The vet David is excellent! He always goes out of his way to explain everything clearly, and I have complete faith in him, which is not something I have ever been able to say about any other vet. He is the right combination of friendly and professional, and I think that is so important when you are an owner, and trusting your pet into the care of someone. When he operated on my dog Bruno recently, the wound healed really well, so clearly he's a good surgeon as well! Bruno and I actually look forward to our visits to the vets now, which is amazing. A vets practice is only ever as good as it's staff, and they are fantastic here.

Rating: 4.5 (1102) Price Level:

PDSA was clean and tidy. No nasty smalls either. I used to find it was a bit smelly in there years ago, but it definitely doesn't now. The vet I saw with my kitten was lovely. She explained what the lump on her back was and that it would fade over next few weeks, which it did. She also also asked if I was planning on getting her spayed which I said yes I was. She then proceeded to tell me about an offer they had on atm with CPL. So if I booked and paid for ut there and then it would only cost me £10. I booked it and I paid £30 which to me is still a massive saving, as my local vets had quoted me £157. I'd already started saving towards it and had £30 saved so I just gave them all of it. They've always been nice at the Leeds PDSA. I've been going to them for well over 20 years now and have never had a problem with them. They even now offer low cost treatment for 2nd pets or low wage families. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is eligible.

I did not know about the existence of this hospital. I arrived desperate and crying with my 7-year-old pet Chihuahua. I did not speak the language. They were super kind and very patient. Angie underwent surgery and was sterilized. The entire staff was kind. This hospital really saves pets' lives. You could see the dedication and love in their work. We are and will be very grateful for the good care. I apologize for any mistakes. I wrote through a translator.

They're a good place, but how charitable it is now compared to the past seems thin. I remember when donations were donations not demands, i remember speaking to someone who volunteer because they care about animals, and it didn't cost me £20 for a phone call. I also remember when pets and people came first not profits. Another thing is the amount of private vets that get paid by a charity. It's not very charitable to give up time in private practice to be paid for charity practice. It's not what it used to be, much like this forsaken country. But it's what the people have and we're bent over a barrel or watch or pets suffered because of theninsane private vet care industry, which to me should be railed in at the costs and fees they ask. Don't hold your breath under weird starmer and Charles though, they're all for the diversity, equity and inclusion sides of horrid Marxism. So, let's be happy pdsa hasn't gone that far.. yet.
