A great experience for my first time at the vets with my kitten. The reception staff were warm and welcoming and the vet was super nice and friendly she handled my kitten very well who was very sassy and naughty. All in all a great place and super easy and convenient.

Sad occasion. Our 15 year old cat had to go to sleep. The practice staff were very sympathetic and understanding as they have always been over the years we have been coming here. Would recommend 100 per cent!

Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

Excellent vets with great service from both the vet and admin team. Have been my vet of choice for 3 dogs now stretching back over nearly 20 years. Building is easy to reach, sharing an access road with the car wash, but with dedicated parking and a small grass area at the front. Ramp access to the front door is easy to manage for the mobility impared. Inside is clean, bright and airy, with toilets available and a small waiting area, including an area especially for those with smaller pets that is marked as a dog-free zone. Reception / admin staff are polite and helpful, greeting customers warmly and happy to say hello to pets and try to put them at ease. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two before being called into the examination rooms. All of the vets I've seen are equally nice, friendly and cheerful, and empathic towards the animals they're treating. The examination rooms are 'compact', but big enough for the job at hand, clean and tidy. Whenever I've taken my dogs in, the vet has always taken the time to try and treat them as kindly as possible, making sure there's a little treat to be had for each injection taken or for being poked and prodded - but it's little things like letting the dog take a moment to sniff the stethescope before they're checked over that I think makes going to the vet a non-traumatic experience for them. Vets have always been happy to discuss treatment options with me and make recommendations for their care, and the prices seem fair and reasonable in my experience. Strongly recommend.

Called ahead as I wanted to register my shynx'. The receptionist was really knowledgeable, and registration was easy. Cats were really calm with the male vet, who was great and allayed any concerns I had about spay/neuter for this breed.

Compassionate, caring, understanding & honest. Can't praise the staff at Mirfield & Huddersfield enough for how we and our fur babies were treated recently, would highly recommend.

My dog need his annual boosters, and due to my disability I’m unable to drive. This service was so less stressful than trying to get him in a taxi to the local vets, for his injections. Two lovely ladies came and did them, and he was so chilled out and happy. They were very respectful and friendly. Would strongly recommend them, and would always be my go to vet for him now. Great service and glad I came across them.

Following the heartbreaking decision we had to make to help our beautiful (almost) 14 year old boy Axel go to permanent sleep, I can’t thank Sarah and Danielle enough for their lovely, caring nature, on what was a truly sad and devastating day... Their calmness and explanation of the whole process and what to expect, helped prepare us for Axel’s final journey. He hated going to the vets, so we wanted him to be at home, in calm and familiar, stress-free surroundings. He passed away peacefully and with dignity, laying in his favourite spot in the garden in the sunshine, getting the head and ear tickles he loved so much and surrounded by the people who loved him most. We really couldn’t have asked for a better send off for Axel 🌈🐶💙 Thank you for making such an emotionally difficult time that bit easier to bear 🙏🏼

Highly recommend My Home Vet. They came to my house to put my elderly cat to sleep. I was absolutely dreading it but they were so lovely and really put my mind at ease. They explained everything that would happen and reassured my my cat would feel no pain. The whole procedure was over quickly and I take great comfort in knowing that my darling cat went to sleep on his favourite rug in the living room, surrounded by his family. I honestly couldn't recommend them more, thank you so much for making such an upsetting time as peaceful and lovely as it could have been.

UPDATE: 01 Oct 2024. This is a very difficult thing for me to write. But I wanted to publicly thank My Home Vets, Olivia and Maaike for showing absolute empathy with our cat Mambrú. Unfortunately, two weeks ago, Mambrú suddenly started having seizures out of nowhere. In the morning she ate her breakfast normally and 20 minutes later when she was sleeping, she had some kind of hallucinations and then a seizure. She had asked me to cover her up and I put a freshly washed blanket on her that had a strong smell of detergent so I thought that was the reason. The rest of the day went by normally, until 1:30 in the morning, when Mambrú had another seizure. I didn't know what to do because I couldn't call My Home Vets because of the time, however, I requested an appointment through the questionnaire on their website and explained the situation to them. Unfortunately, Mambrú had another seizure an hour later so we had to take her to the nearest veterinary hospital for emergency care. My Home Vet contacted me very early in the morning telling me that they could give me a priority appointment for that same day around 9:00am. I thanked them and explained that we had to take the kitten to another veterinary center. Oliva asked me to keep her updated. After that, our precious kitty got worse so we had to make the hard decision to euthanize her. I don't know how I found the strength but I contacted My Home Vet to let them know that Mambrú was not going to need them anymore. After that, something totally unexpected happened for me. I received a beautiful hand-written condolence card in the mail with some seeds. I honestly didn't expect this. THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much Olivia and Maaike. You have no idea how much that gesture of empathy meant to us. Knowing that Mambrú was not just a number to you and that you actually care about your furry patients, only shows the great quality of human beings that you are. We were users of Pets at Home veterinarians in Huddersfield and these days we call to book an appointment for the annual vaccination of our 16-year-old cat Mambrú. Pets at Home told us that there was a national shortage of vaccines and that we could only have the appointment for the month of February 2022. We worry because the vaccines expired on December the 23th of 2021 and our kitten is a foreign kitten, therefore, maintaining the vaccination on time is one of the requirements to enter and leave any country. We decided to search online for other vets and luckily we came across My Home Vet. We called yesterday (Wednesday) and they gave us the appointment for today Friday. Incredible! We are very grateful, since they came to our house (very punctual by the way), vaccinated our kitten, weighed her, checked her teeth, and her heart. The appointment was extremely fast (I think no more than 10 minutes) I would have liked to talk a little more hahaha, but considering the COVID situation and how exposed they are going house to house, it seems very sensible. Thank you very much Maaike and Olivia! We were able to pay for the service by card without using cash, they gave me the payment receipt and even sent me the invoice by email. More cannot be asked! Companion Care Vets just lost a customer.

Took in an injured owl we had found and nursed him to health. Have just been messaged to tell me it has recovered and has been released back to the wild.

Messaged these on Tuesday evening about a pigeon I had found.. I actually then found somewhere closer to where I live but these rang me about 30 mins later- eventhough I ended up sending the pigeon to somewhere more local I really appreciated the quick call back on a Tues evening and think this shows that they care

Great place for any wildlife we took a collared dove but unfortunately it died on the way there ..... The lady there was there to meet us and she said it had died of canker. It grows in their throat and they can't eat or drink. So sad but at least we tried. Highly recommend them

Came for the first time with my African Grey Ruby, Matt was amazing with handling and with giving me useful information. I was nervous of how it would go but it couldn't have gone any better! Back home now whistling as usual!

Outstanding vets. Have all my animals with them and can honestly say they are the best around. My dog actually likes visiting them and he’s had at least two operations. Just shows you how much they look after and care for them when they have to stay overnight. 10/10. I would give them more if I could. My dog Blu gives them a solid paws up :)

My girl had her annual Booster done, the vets here are amazing with my pets, exceptionally skilled, highly recommended, the nurses are fantastic, not forgetting the receptionist they company wouldn't function without a dedicated team.

Donaldsons are fantastic! They are caring, knowledgable professional, people who have always been there when my many rescues have needed them.

Used this vets for years having dogs . Now having lost my last dogs due to old age, now have a cat 17 years old and becoming concerning. The lady vet we saw was absolutely spot on . Listened and discussed the problem which was heartwarming. The lady in question was called iris and was one of the best we have ever seen. Could have gone down the road of blood tests and xrays but at 17 years old is too much. Cats have 9 lives, maybe he's on his ninth.

A very friendly and helpful vets. They took us on when our vet in Dewsbury said they didn’t have enough vets to help us. We rang every vet in the Wakefield area to get Milly her booster and her nails cut under sedation (she won’t let anyone near her paws) and they were all full. Yorkshire Vets said they could help. Really happy with them.

Another visit for Cooper and Wilson’s annual booster. Cooper and Wilson again always so excited when we go. The team are so friendly and professional. Would highly recommend.

Excellent as always. Nice to see a vet that is there for your much loved pets. My daughters cats are always at ease and usually purring away when Michael is examining them. Been with Calder vets for years and wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

They were very accommodating when we couldn't make it to our eldest cat's appointment; if we wanted to try again, they offered us a second appointment for later that day, and there was no pressure if we couldn't make it. When my kitten was examined by the vet for the first time, she was exceptionally kind and meticulous. They explained to me the differences between the two types of insurance available and advised me to double check the one I have taken out, just in case dental needs aren't covered. They additionally informed me regarding the health plan they offer that would save me money. I'm overjoyed that I switched my older cat to Caler Vets and chose them for my new kitten.

Could not say a bad word about the staff from first visit and through a long healing process after her operation (due to her not leaving it alone to heal )everyone was amazing Skye just loved visiting the vets couldn't wait to get in and see them all would definitely highly recommend thankyou for putting up with her 😊

I’ve been using this vet practice for years. I’ve always found all the staff to be helpful, knowledgeable and very professional. This morning my cat had an appointment with Tavi. Not only did Tavi look at the issue my cat had gone in for but looked at two other little issues as well. Not only is Tavi a great vet he is also a nice person. Very friendly, approachable and caring.

Bring 9 out of 10 pets to companian care ( the other goes to a local vet as he hates the car). Never had an issue at all, all staff very friendly, and the vets take their time to allow the pets to relax, only thing is their prices have jumped up since lockdown.

The receptionist Tracey was friendly, polite and explained and helped me to sign up to the pet plan immediately. She explained what was included, the price breakdown and gave me leaflets to explain. The vet Tavi was amazing. So knowledgeable and understanding of my dog and his temperament. Knew exactly what to do and how to handle him. It was the first time I came to this practice having recently moved the area and I'm so relieved I've found such a friendly, caring practice with a vet who can help my dog Noodle. Thank you so much. Next time I won't feel so nervous to come along with my pup! :)
