Paragon Veterinary Referrals
Paragon Veterinary Referrals, Paragon Point, Red Hall Cres, Wakefield WF1 2DF, UK | Veterinary Care P: 01924 908333
Rating: 4.8 (731) Price Level:
We wre referred to Paragon when our diabetic dog Jasper developed cataracts. Jasper is 14 years old but wasn't enjoying life being unable to see. We were given a consultation with James Rushton. He examined Jasper very thoroughly. He explained all the risks and costs of the surgery. We were kept informed at every stage of the process. We can't speak highly enough of Paragon and would highly recommend them.

Paragon Vets especially Chris Linney has done an amazing job doing their magic on my pooch, she had big surgery to help her heart and although it’s a ongoing progress, I wouldn’t have her here today, if it wasn’t for Chris and his team. He has reassured me that she is doing well and what the next steps are and that they are happy with her progress. It’s a long journey.

They took in our exceedingly poorly 4 year old dog. They were so caring, and understanding. Every day we had 2 updates, they were clear and understandable, and really did set our mind at ease. They were easy to contact when needed, and coming from Bolton, we were able to visit quite a way outside of their open hours. Very very happy with them... Our dog? 6 days in ICU, and now back home and recovering...!

My little dog is being looked after at Paragon Referrals with the Cardiology team. They have been absolutely amazing every time. I have tried several places before but this place is exceptional. I never feel alone during my little girls difficult journey as I know that she is in the best hands. I don't think that my little Tiffany would have made it this far without their input, continuous help and expertise. Thank you. I am very grateful to have found Paragon Referrals.

We travelled almost 60 miles to be greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. The vet was very knowledgeable and treat our dog with care. We left with the answers that we were looking for with regards to her illness. Would highly recommended this practice.

Amazing veterinary practice. Lovely vets and staff, and nothing is too much trouble. Would not consider taking my dog to any other vets
Rating: 5 / 5
I have been using Sandbeck vets for a few years now. They are genuinely the nicest practice I’ve ever had the privilege of using. All the vets are very knowledgeable but super friendly too and the relationship is that of a personal touch. I have dogs with complicated conditions but they strive to always do their absolute best and nothing is ever too much trouble. They go way and beyond and I cannot be more grateful. As a dog owner for a very very long time, I never come away from there feeling that I have been fobbed off. I genuinely and honestly cannot recommend these guys enough!

After transferring my dog from a money driven vets, which I'd lost all faith in, an rushing my girl to sandbeck, which is around an hours drive from me, for an emergancy appointment, each and every member of staff I have interacted with since have gone above and beyond. They are simply earth angels. I honestly can't thank all the staff, for everything they have done, and still yet to do for my girl. They only had her for around 4 hours on the first day, and the improvement in her was unbelievable. Dinner time I walked in there crying, by 6pm I was filled with hope, relief and confidence that she was in the best hands. I have also pestered the reception staff countless times with my worries and again, they so kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. This practise is a perfect example of how every practise should be run.

What a wonderful caring vet Ed is. My first visit and was recommended and justly so. The most thorough examination no other vet has done, did not rush, made my dog and myself very comfortable with a person who you can tell really cares about what he does.Well done Ed

From the receptionist staff, to the nurses and the vets, this is an amazingly caring small practice. I have an elderly cat with complex needs and the care she has received has been outstanding with huge dollops of empathy from the whole team. Lucy cat and I are eternally grateful.

Palmer & Duncan Veterinary Surgeons
2 Wakefield Rd, Ossett WF5 9JB, UK | Veterinary Care P: 01924 786688
Rating: 4.8 (181) Price Level:
Palmer and Duncan vets have always been very efficient and informative in dealing with our dog Willow a working stock retriever and Sooty and Mittens the young cats. Mittens they saved when she had emergency major surgery after she swallowed a length of sewing cotton that got stuck in her gut. All the staff are very friendly and bubbly. When your pet needs extra care they were good to refer to another practitioner. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
My beloved dog, Max, was only registered at Palmer and Duncan a short time before we had to say goodbye to him on Friday evening, but the patience, care and compassion shown by all staff we met during that time was outstanding. Thank you so much for making such a difficult time that little bit easier for us. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone in Ossett with a pet.
Rating: 5 / 5
The staff at this veterinary practice have been fantastic, not in only caring for my dogs, but ensuing a dignified and peaceful end to one of my dogs life. The showed compassion, empathy and love for both myself and my dog in her last moments. I will be forever grateful to them, thank you does not cut it.

Been using this surgery from the day it opened. The staff in the reception are brilliant, always pleasant and helpful, nothing is a problem for them. Also the Vets are very good, they are kind and care about your pets, they explain everything to you about your pets illness and do everything they can to help. I can recommend them to anyone needing treatment for there pets

After a bad experience with a large veterinary practice we decided our next pet would be cared for by a smaller more personal team. So far we feel more at home with Palmer and Duncan. Angus isn't as impressed as us!

A great experience for my first time at the vets with my kitten. The reception staff were warm and welcoming and the vet was super nice and friendly she handled my kitten very well who was very sassy and naughty. All in all a great place and super easy and convenient.
Rating: 5 / 5
Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

Sad occasion. Our 15 year old cat had to go to sleep. The practice staff were very sympathetic and understanding as they have always been over the years we have been coming here. Would recommend 100 per cent!

I visited this vets yesterday with my new kitten Rodger, the reception team were very lovely and friendly which made us feel super welcome. The interior of the vets was clean and fresh. Also the vet we saw was so lovely with him and gave him lots of love! 100% recommend this vets and so glad we chose this practice

Excellent vets with great service from both the vet and admin team. Have been my vet of choice for 3 dogs now stretching back over nearly 20 years. Building is easy to reach, sharing an access road with the car wash, but with dedicated parking and a small grass area at the front. Ramp access to the front door is easy to manage for the mobility impared. Inside is clean, bright and airy, with toilets available and a small waiting area, including an area especially for those with smaller pets that is marked as a dog-free zone. Reception / admin staff are polite and helpful, greeting customers warmly and happy to say hello to pets and try to put them at ease. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two before being called into the examination rooms. All of the vets I've seen are equally nice, friendly and cheerful, and empathic towards the animals they're treating. The examination rooms are 'compact', but big enough for the job at hand, clean and tidy. Whenever I've taken my dogs in, the vet has always taken the time to try and treat them as kindly as possible, making sure there's a little treat to be had for each injection taken or for being poked and prodded - but it's little things like letting the dog take a moment to sniff the stethescope before they're checked over that I think makes going to the vet a non-traumatic experience for them. Vets have always been happy to discuss treatment options with me and make recommendations for their care, and the prices seem fair and reasonable in my experience. Strongly recommend.

Rating: 4.8 (233) Price Level:
Called ahead as I wanted to register my shynx'. The receptionist was really knowledgeable, and registration was easy. Cats were really calm with the male vet, who was great and allayed any concerns I had about spay/neuter for this breed.

Andy has cared for my own and rescued animals for over 10 years. From birth to death, I can say they have had kind and compassionate treatment. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Thank you so much to Zack for picking up on Baby’s heart murmur after two vets missed it!! (Not Donaldson’s). Somerset Road were also brilliant and my little boy is home and fine. ❤️ Donaldson’s may not be the cheapest but the vets are brilliant and I completely trust them with all 3 of my babies. Thank you.

Rating: 4.5 (468) Price Level:
Since moving vets this is the first time I have had to bring one of dogs. He is usually a very nervous dog but right away, we were met by friendly staff who put ourselves and Archie at ease. This was continued when we met the vet who made archie feel comfortable, didn't try to push products on us, explained possible treatments and costs, and was knowledgeable and friendly throughout. We ledt feeling like even the vet had Archies best interests in mind opposed to trying to rack up the highest bill. Best vets visit since he was a pup, now he's 8! Would definitely recommend.

Chantry Vets, Brindley Way Veterinary Hospital
Unit 3 Brindley Way, Wakefield WF2 0XQ, UK | Veterinary Care P: 01924 362464
Rating: 4.5 (207) Price Level:
My dog was so unwell that she was shivering/physically shaking, she had diarrhea, she was whining, and clearly very uncomfortable. The veterinarian very kindly interrupted her lunch break to see my dog more immediately on a Sunday when I rushed her to the hospital. She had high sodium levels, her gut was inflamed and full of gas, she was nauseous, not eating properly and dehydrated. The anti sickness injection, new probiotic, and diet plan have done wonders for her and she’s now out and about again - no whining on the bus because she isn’t nauseous anymore/getting any travel sickness because her gut health is generally better (no more diarrhea or sickness), and she is more focused and has more energy for games and agility. Please avoid communal water bowls folks, as gastroenteritis is going around. Thank you Chantry Vets! ❤️

Chantry Vets, Brindley way is a lovely, caring and friendly veterinary hospital. It is scrupulously clean and very well maintained. The staff are really kind and understanding and they are so lovely with my little Jasper. The care received is second to none, they are so helpful and take the time to explain procedures or after care. I would definitely recommend to friends and family!
Rating: 5 / 5
Chantry Vets have been exceptional both with us and our dog from the minute I made my enquiry with them. We met with Lisa who performed a TPLO on our golden retriever. Our consultation was so informative, and I left feeling much less anxious than when I walked in. Leaving our dog with them overnight was not an issue as I knew she was receiving the best care. Every member of staff I’ve spoken to has been lovely and happy to help (especially Storm!), even post procedure if I’ve had any questions or concerns. I cannot recommend them enough.

We've got quite a few pets, and over time we needed to take some of our cats and dogs to get checked up or due to any other reasons. Each time the staff was helpful, professional and kind. We never needed to keep coming back what was administered was always good. If You are looking for a place where if need be your pet will get good care, this is the one!

Receptionists are so lovely and friendly, Jennifer is a really lovely vet, always listens to the owner and takes her time to help you. Her experience and professionalism shines through. In my years I have seen many vets owning Dogs and horses. It's lovely to have a vet that's friendly, has an amazing way with the dog and is very experianced. All the vets are lovely and caring I have seen at Yorkshire vets but Jennifer is the one I will see if I can win my two dogs. Good experience throughout

Had my dogs registered here for over 2 years now, and i have to say i not disappointed at all so far. Both my American xl bullies and my french bulldog are in the pet health club, so all the fleaing and wormimg medication is included. Recently, I had my xl bullies neutered and spayed. The procedures were done with precision and minimal scarring, and they both received 25% off the total amounts due to the pet health club. The majority of staff are lovely and took a shine to my babies straight away. They received 5* service hands down,i only wish it was closer to me, lol.

We recently took our dog, Cleo, to see Badr and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care and attention she received. Cleo can be quite anxious at the vet, but from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was calm, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It was clear they genuinely care about animals and understand the importance of making them feel safe. Badr went above and beyond to make Cleo feel at ease, taking time to gain her trust before starting the examination. They spoke softly to her and let her approach at her own pace. The patience and gentle approach worked wonders; Cleo relaxed in a way we hadn’t seen at previous vet visits. During the treatment, Badr explained each step, which put us at ease as well, knowing she was in skilled hands. Thanks to Badr, Cleo had a positive experience, and we now feel confident bringing her back for future visits. If you’re looking for a vet who is not only knowledgeable but also exceptionally caring and skilled at handling nervous pets, we highly recommend Badr and their team. They truly made a difference for Cleo, and for that, we’re incredibly thankful! Photo just after the appointment!

The best vets, I am so glad my dogs are registered here. They are so lovely and genuinely care for the animals, not just about money. I have been many times now for my dogs Coco and Bruno’s vaccinations and now castrations. The care and service they provide is amazing, from booking them in at reception right through to follow up appointments. The staff are the best and go above and beyond as my dogs are anxious. I never feel rushed at the appointments either. Bruno had his castration today and I explained I was anxious, they said they would call as soon as he was done and I got a call from the nurse before lunchtime. You all work hard and should be proud. Thank you so much!

Had an incredible experience today! I’m not from the local area and had travelled for specific cat dental work and everyone was understanding and lovely from start to finish. I arrived early for collection and was greeted with warm smiles and a brew and once my cat was removed from the cat carrier he was rubbing himself on the nurses legs, not mine! 😂 whilst waiting for my dad to pick us up they let my cat and I have a private room so I could let him have some freedom out of the carrier/cuddles! As an extremely health anxious pet owner, this was above and beyond! Thank you again!!!

Amazing vets! Saved our dog's life- we cannot thank them enough. They treat our pet as though she is their own. All staff are lovely and so helpful. Peter, Caroline, Will, Daniella are wonderful and so skilled in what they do. Always take the time to explain things and answer all our questions. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
