I visited this vets yesterday with my new kitten Rodger, the reception team were very lovely and friendly which made us feel super welcome. The interior of the vets was clean and fresh. Also the vet we saw was so lovely with him and gave him lots of love! 100% recommend this vets and so glad we chose this practice

A great experience for my first time at the vets with my kitten. The reception staff were warm and welcoming and the vet was super nice and friendly she handled my kitten very well who was very sassy and naughty. All in all a great place and super easy and convenient.

Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

Sad occasion. Our 15 year old cat had to go to sleep. The practice staff were very sympathetic and understanding as they have always been over the years we have been coming here. Would recommend 100 per cent!

There are no words to express how good this clinic is and the service they offer. They saved my girl's life. The vet spent so much time on the phone with me over several weeks, I never felt like he was rushing me, we discussed every tiny thing in detail and he was always friendly, professional and made me feel like I was his only client. The staff during check in and throughout the treatment were exceptional, phoning with very detailed updates every day. I was in hotel for 3 nights then slept in my car for 7 nights, I couldn't bring myself to be too far away in case anything happened (Squiggle was a complex case). Finally, although cost was the least of my worries, for the service provided, the time spent talking to me, their care of my little girl, their fees are extremely good value - I would have paid double. I am just so relieved this service exists. Treatment was in September 2023, it was a long journey but so worth it. Squiggle is still doing fine and will be 17 on 21st Jan!

Treated our Cat, Ness during Christmas she is back to herself and rolling around. It's amazing what a difference has been made

I couldn't reccomend the Hyperthyroid cat centre enough! my cat Fifi was diagnosed as hyperthyroid and after the medication didn't agree with her and made her very poorly I took the decision to request referral to the HCC. Everyone I spoken to there was lovely and so understanding! I was so worried about sending Fi away but I needn't of worried as they looked after Fi and treated her like royalty 🥰. Fifi is now officially cured of her hyperthyroidism thanks to HCC and I wouldn't even think twice of reccomending them to others or using them again as the whole process was fantastic! plenty of contact with daily calls to let me know how Fi was doing with happy lovely cat people. 100% reccomend.

My Norwegian Forest Cat recently had treatment here, staff were so friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable, she was already looking better in less than one week after her treatment Keep up the good work

Very friendly staff who take a genuine interest in your pets and want to make you as comfortable as possible. Both vets and reception staff are efficient and kind!

Got us an appointment the next day after sending a problem of the issue. Reasonably priced and were fab with our little terrors (kittens)

Phil, Mel and the team are just great! Very friendly and informative, they take the time to get to know you and your pet(s). They have been super accomodating when I was worried about my pup just before a weekend, got her in to get checked over and made more comfortable really quickly. And my elderly cat got lots of love and cuddles while he was in getting blood work done. Highly recommended!

Had my first appointment with my dog Tess at Your Family Vet today. The whole team were really friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to see some familiar faces back at this practice!! Philip was super and really thorough during the appointment. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

I had to take my cat in for his annual check up and booster. Calling few days before to book him in was an easy process. On the day, the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The vet was efficient, friendly and settled my cat during his inspection.

A very professionally run practice that has looked after my dog very well for many years

Always look after our two dogs with such care. We have a German Shepherd that is very anxious around other dogs, they always let us use the back door so he doesn't come into contact with any other dogs when entering the premises. And give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable, when he needed surgery- they let us stay with him in a nurse room whilst the pre op meds kicked in so he wasn't in kennels near other dogs. They really go above and beyond making sure our dogs and us as their parents feel comfortable and listened to. The only criticism I could have is we rarely see the same vet, and they don't really introduce themselves. But we are always so grateful for the care that is provided it's never caused an issue.

Milo, my black Labrador has been going to Parkhill Vets for over 4 years since we moved to the area. He is almost 12 years old and has arthritis. It was recommended he started monthly Librella infections a few years ago which have transformed his quality of life….and put a spring back in his step! Every month I visit the surgery for his injection. I am always welcomed by the reception staff on first name terms and they always interact with Milo and make us feel extremely welcome. They know that he needs the mat putting out on the floor in the consulting room before we go in so he doesn’t slide all over and risk hurting his joints and will be more comfortable when lying down for his injection. All the vets and nurses are amazing- they really listen and make you feel extremely reassured that they have your pets best interest at heart. They have even given his injection outside the surgery on the grass area to minimise his stress. This week due to health reasons I was unable to drive and was concerned as to how I could get him to the surgery for his injection. I spoke to Julia, receptionist, who was extremely understanding. She organised his injection and dropped it at my house on her way home from work so I could administer it myself. What a first class service. Thank you Julia and the whole team for your understanding, care and compassion at what is a very difficult time for me. Christine

After multiple surgeries on Ellie’s knees—one of which had failed—Vita took us under their wing for a “last chance” surgery, and so far, it’s been a success! After 18 months on three legs, she’s finally back on all four. The team at Vita is fantastic, providing expert care and genuine compassion. Their app, which allows for out-of-hours contact, was a lifesaver—especially during those nerve-wracking first few days post-surgery when the 3 AM worries set in. Just having that reassurance made all the difference. Having experienced several referral centres over the past 25 years, I can confidently say Vita is among the best. Whilst playing with my other dog my springer fractured his Elbow. After being referred by my vet Vita were on the phone within a couple of hours and we were booked in first thing the following morning. Stuart explained the whole process very cleary from what had caused the injury to what he would do in surgery and the aftercare that would be required. During his stay I was updated regularly via the Pets App which is a really good thing. The pricing is fair and the service is excellent. Whilst I don't ever want to go there again I would thoroughly recommend them, if I could award more stars I would.

The care provided at Vita is excellent. They got straight to work on our puppy who had broken his leg in 2 places and we were advised that this would be a very tricky procedure and a strict recovery. 6 weeks later, our puppy’s breaks have healed nicely and his metal screws were taken out. It feels like the vets and staff have a personal investment in your animal’s recovery. They will give regular updates on your pet and even provide pictures to reassure you that they are in safe hands. The vet is excellent at what he does and has a very quick turnaround to get your pet back to form! Overall, I would 100% recommend this vet to anyone. Could not fault the care my cat had during his treatment here. He had a perineal urethostomy, and everything was explained thoroughly, both before and after. He was kept in for 2 nights after the operation, I was kept up to date on his progress with phone calls from the vet and several PetsApps updates app with pictures from the nurses. He was clearly well cared for. During further recovery at home, I had a couple of concerns/questions which were dealt with within a day on the app, with advice directly from the vet. Obviously hope I never have to use them again for Bootsy's sake, but should the need arise I would have 100% confidence in them. They weren't the cheapest option, but also weren't the most expensive, and I think the service and aftercare was worth its weight in gold so all in all very good value for money. My poorly cat was kept in for the day and was very well looked after. I received regular updates from the vet on how he was doing and any procedures or medication he might of needed. All the staff there are friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this practice and thank you again.

Unfortunately my puppy had swallowed some batteries but Westwood Vets were extremely attentive and saw to him straight away. They kept us updated with the process including treatments and the costs. Mine is a sad story that I couldn’t give a review on immediately - my previous dog got ill suddenly on NYE 2023 - Swift are the linked emergency vet to mine in Thirsk. Obviously I didn’t know what was wrong but I took her straight down and the team there were fantastic. They were compassionate and knowledgeable and most importantly looked after my dog as much as they could - made her comfortable and did all the testing that was suitable. Sadly we had to make the decision later that day when we went to see her that she couldn’t go on. It was heart breaking and I am still cut up about it now. However the vet was really kind and sympathetic to us, giving us as much time as we needed and explained the whole process. As hard as it was, it was the right thing for Daisy. Since then I have a new puppy and actually work very close to Swift - I had been avoiding the road it was on due to the memories, but recently popped in on a lunch time dog walk to thank the staff as I didn’t at the time. They really did take care of everything - from the insurance paperwork to contacting me when Daisy was ready to be collected. The staff there were brilliant - each one was kind and compassionate and that is all you can ask when you are going through a traumatizing experience. Thanks again! Sean

SWIFT Emergency service. Well in our hour of need, these guys turned up trumps. Very kind staff. Very obliging with our personal needs. Great facility. I had no hesitation leaving my dog Murphy there for overnight meds & recuperation. Thank you so very much.

We have our precious girl Bella at Swifts, where she is being treated for cancer. The vet, Bethan, all the nurses and the front of house staff are just amazing. We know how this jounery will eventually end with Bella but the care and treatment that Bella is receiving to prolong her life is just incredible. The loving care for Bella and us as a family is the best anyone could ever wish for. Such an incredible team. ❤️

Just read the 1 star reviews and this is really sad for the owners of the pets, sorry you had these experiences. My dog was involved in a car accident - she was hit by a car and we were referred by emergency to Swift by our local Vet, the staff; from reception staff through to the expert vet’s who carried out the operation were absolutely amazing. Compassionate, caring, thorough & attentive - we were quite worried obviously and were never off the phone while Willow our dog stayed with swift, the staff sent regular updates and photos of her, it was never too much trouble. 10/10 from us. Highly recommend BIG thanks from us and Willow!
