I called Home Comforts out, as sadly we had to put our elderly dog to sleep, and we wanted her to be at home, Emma at Home Comforts were recommend to us by our regular vet. They were helpful, kind and understanding from the start. Emma came out to and was wonderful so kind and gentle to our old girl. We were happy that she could pass peacefully at home. I would highly recommend Home Comforts, as I know friends and family would too.

Home Comforts came today to help us send our 17 year old Jack Russell over the rainbow bridge. Abbi was the consumate professional with a soft and gentle beside manner. She explained everything and what to expect. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Q

Emma & the team have done 2 dentals for my cats Dec & Navy at a fraction of the price my usual vets wanted to charge. Their care has been exceptional. When I had concerns about Navy afterwards Emma phoned me & through chatting to her I realised he just needed longer to get used to not having his canines & also took longer to get over the anaesthetic. The ladies at Home Comforts vets were wonderful with our cat when he had four teeth extracted. You can tell they really cared, they were professional, friendly and the procedure was very reasonably priced. Will definitely book with them again (although hopefully not too soon!).

I couldn't ask for a better , more thorough vet than Emily Legate. The surgery is amazing and the staff are highly knowledgeable and very reasonably priced which is an added bonus but ultimately I use this veterinary surgery because I had a years worth of unsolved issues with my prescious boys ear, in one visit we had swabs taken then discovered he had a deformed ear canal in the offending ear , then he was booked in swiftly for an ear flush under anesthetic, Emily filmed the ear canal and debris in it ,for me to better understand the situation with his ear. I can't praise these guys enough and they have my recommendation to any one who wants caring, thorough up to date and highly trained veterinary care . It's a big thumbs up from me and Roman dog. I wish I could put 10 stars !!

I absolutely love this vet. It's independent and works with the owner to care for their ill animal. It's not just about money. The vets are very nice and the receptionist always books me in very quickly. She also deals with me freaking out over email quite a few times (sorry but thank you). I really love this little vet practice. It's how all vets should be run.

I'd just had a bad experience with another vet practice (not in Otley). I was nervous about trying another after moving, but I couldn't have felt more reassured. The staff were so lovely! I wasn't rushed, the vet went out of their way to make my cat feel comfortable, and gave me lots of great advice. So grateful to have such caring, professional and reasonably priced vet practice nearby who truly put animals before all else. Can't recommend them enough.

Outstanding vet practice, unequalled anywhere. From the initial phone call, to the friendly welcome at the surgery - you really get a feeling of personal customer care. The vet himself, Mr Newbery, is the ultimate professional with an amazing wealth of knowledge over a number of decades, and such a kind demeanour with the animals. I was later speaking with someone in the waiting room, who travels some distance from another county to visit this practice and has done for years. That's the kind of recommendation which speaks volumes.

Wonderful Vet. A very personal and always pleasant caring vet, we have taken our animals to Simon for a number of years and he has always been smashing with us and our pets. The staff are well trained and always helpful and friendly as much with owners and pets. No having to see a different vet each visit. The waiting room is a little small but plenty of seating. Over the years Simon has done surgery on our pets and we fully trust him, we have no worries in recommending this 1st class practice. After waking up to find my 23 year old African Grey very weak and in respiratory distress I rang round trying to find an emergency avian vet appointment. After being advised he needed to go into hospital we made the trip to Holly House. Everybody was amazing, explaining everything, keeping us informed about his progress and the cost at all times. I was happy he was in good hands. He made a rapid recovery and I would like to thank everyone for taking care of him.

My dog Wally was very poorly and we almost lost him with a pneumonia and stomach issue. These are the best vets I've ever been to. Communication was clear/objective, and the caring is in the little things they did, like a nurse running to Tesco to get tuna to get him to eat at least something. Shout out to Francisco, Jenny, Katrina, Cathy, Tom, Dan and the ones I didn't get the name of. Everyone was outstanding.

The staff do an amazing job, I took a Woodcock in that flaw into the side of a building, sadly the bird didn't make it due to it's injury, but the staff we're amazing and do an amazing job looking after animals, thank you

I have only recently joined this vetenary practice following a very bad experience with my previous vet, I have found the whole team to be friendly and yet professional and most importantly knowledgeable, they treat my cats with the upmost attention and offer a very caring approach, all in all very good service. The vets and staff have always been amazing with all of our dogs that we have brought into the surgery for treatment or a health check, the vets have worked really hard with the two sister rescue girls that we have to help them feel at ease, which is not easy considering the anxieties they both have. And when it came to the time that we had to say goodbye, the support we had at this time was so amazing, and a huge thank you to Jenny and the team.

We recently took our dog, Cleo, to see Badr and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care and attention she received. Cleo can be quite anxious at the vet, but from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was calm, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It was clear they genuinely care about animals and understand the importance of making them feel safe. Badr went above and beyond to make Cleo feel at ease, taking time to gain her trust before starting the examination. They spoke softly to her and let her approach at her own pace. The patience and gentle approach worked wonders; Cleo relaxed in a way we hadn’t seen at previous vet visits. During the treatment, Badr explained each step, which put us at ease as well, knowing she was in skilled hands. Thanks to Badr, Cleo had a positive experience, and we now feel confident bringing her back for future visits. If you’re looking for a vet who is not only knowledgeable but also exceptionally caring and skilled at handling nervous pets, we highly recommend Badr and their team. Had an incredible experience today! I’m not from the local area and had travelled for specific cat dental work and everyone was understanding and lovely from start to finish. I arrived early for collection and was greeted with warm smiles and a brew and once my cat was removed from the cat carrier he was rubbing himself on the nurses legs, not mine! 😂 whilst waiting for my dad to pick us up they let my cat and I have a private room so I could let him have some freedom out of the carrier/cuddles! As an extremely health anxious pet owner, this was above and beyond! Thank you again!!!

Amazing vets! Saved our dog's life- we cannot thank them enough. They treat our pet as though she is their own. All staff are lovely and so helpful. Peter, Caroline, Will, Daniella are wonderful and so skilled in what they do. Always take the time to explain things and answer all our questions. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Great vets friendly staff the vet Stephen is very helpful and explains things in detail. Always happy to give free advice The receptionists Angela and Tracey are also very friendly and knowledgeable. Good prices too - ring around you will see this is true.

Bought a poorly kitten, got me straight in for an appointment same day I rang, the woman who seen me can't remember her name but she was very knowledgeable knew what was wrong right away gave me all the antibiotics and medication I needed walked me through everything I needed to do which was helpful as he is my first pet, did not try to get as much money as they could from me by sending him for random tests, now got a happy full of life fluffy little nutter

We have recently moved to the area and when our cat became ill we brought her to Abbey Vets. I give a five star review even though unfortunately our cat died. We feel that she had been helped as much as was possible by everyone at Abbey vets. It seems that she had a number of ailments that all became apparent at once and was simply too much for her to take. We had taken her initially as she was losing weight and it was found that she had some cavities and would need some teeth removing. Whilst she was in for the surgery we were called prior to the surgery by them to advise on results of blood tests showing she had potential kidney disease and heart problems, it turned out she also had hyperthyroidism We were talked through all the options available to us and we decided to go through with the surgery and then treat for the illnesses. We began treatment but ultimately she couldn't fight them and passed away at home. The vets afterwards were lovely when I called to let them know what had happened and to dicuss the disposal of the medication. I felt like they care about the animals and genuinely want to help them. My other cats are now registered here also as I feel that the level of care was great.

Sad occasion. Our 15 year old cat had to go to sleep. The practice staff were very sympathetic and understanding as they have always been over the years we have been coming here. Would recommend 100 per cent!

A great experience for my first time at the vets with my kitten. The reception staff were warm and welcoming and the vet was super nice and friendly she handled my kitten very well who was very sassy and naughty. All in all a great place and super easy and convenient.

Always amazing with our Bailey who's a 14 week old miniature dachshund. He doesn't get nervous visiting and they always take good care of him every time we visit! Always quick to see you and easy enough to book appointments. Managed to get one this morning by calling up at 8.30am to see if there were any appointments. Managed to get one at 10am which was amazing. Poor Bailey's anal glands were full and needed to be expressed but the vets took very good care of him.

I visited this vets yesterday with my new kitten Rodger, the reception team were very lovely and friendly which made us feel super welcome. The interior of the vets was clean and fresh. Also the vet we saw was so lovely with him and gave him lots of love! 100% recommend this vets and so glad we chose this practice

Animal Trust have always been very accommodating with our dog. She absolutely hates the vets and kicks off big style the moment she’s in the room. Today we visited for our dog’s annual booster shot. She kicked off again inside, even with some sedation tablets in her system! Our vet suggested taking our pooch outside and giving her the booster shot there where she felt safer and happier. It worked a treat! She didn’t even notice it. The staff are all friendly and understanding and will try to help in any way they can. Another time we visited, we asked if we could wait in reception for our dog when she was having an ultrasound to check she was okay. We’d been away and come back, but she wasn’t ready. We were made a brew and had a lovely chat, despite the receptionist being quite busy. It really calmed our nerves as we weren’t sure what was wrong with our dog. Luckily nothing, but the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Never had a bad experience here, and the prices are much lower than other vets we’ve been to. I always recommend this vets, especially after having terrible experiences at another.

Absolutely superb vets, everyone there is so lovely and kind. The surgery is spotless and calm and I love the cat only area and that they have specialist cat vets! It's such a weight off that the costs are so reasonable compared to most other vets. We highly recommend them! Thank you for taking such great care of our boys

We had on our dogs here for spaying has from previous vets were trying to charge us £1000 more than needed. All the staff we have spoken to have been extremely kind and helpful. I've been back today for a check-up, and all is great with another appointment booked next week before discharging her. Without a dowt, we will be using these for the forceful future. Amazing affordable treatment.

On Wednesday I turned up to Barnsley animal trust as soon as they opened without an appointment as my German shepherd Lola was lethargic, yellowed skin, grey gums and high temperature. They saw her within minutes and kept her in for the day for investigations and immediate treatment. Megan was Lola’s lead vet and kept me posted through the day. There were financial obstacles which Megan gave alternate options and was very accommodating. Lola came home that night and was asked to come bk in the next day before opening times to continue with iv fluids and more medication/bloods. She was diagnosed with liver disease then anemia. I have no doubt in my mind that if they had not have been so accommodating Wednesday morning that my girl would now be over the rainbow bridge, so was so poorly. I can not thank the whole team enough for taking such good care of her and I will be forever grateful. Lola’s not out of the woods yet but her levels are going in the right direction and I have a lot of confidence she will get better because of animal trust Barnsley! Forever grateful! Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic staff, did there hardest to comfort me as I had to have my dog put to sleep and also gave me a paw print pic and some fur in a little bottle, I was over the moon with that

Had my dogs registered here for over 2 years now, and i have to say i not disappointed at all so far. Both my American xl bullies and my french bulldog are in the pet health club, so all the fleaing and wormimg medication is included. Recently, I had my xl bullies neutered and spayed. The procedures were done with precision and minimal scarring, and they both received 25% off the total amounts due to the pet health club. The majority of staff are lovely and took a shine to my babies straight away. They received 5* service hands down,i only wish it was closer to me, lol.

Had to use the emergency service. Impressed by the care given to my old boy who I am pleased to say is a little better today. Slept well, drinking and eaten. Thank you to Sandrine for her professionalism .
