To say this is 'just another Wetherspoons' is to do a disservice to this fine establishment. From the outside it has a beautiful aesthetic appeal and this only continues inside because - while yes it is a Wetherspoons - the decor which has been chosen for the interior feels in-keeping with the Wetherspoon's mission of comfort and coziness. They have a great range of drinks at competitive prices, and their food is almost always top-notch. The few experiences that haven't been up to scratch, have been resolved immediately. There was once an occasion where a waiter delivered a plate of food and a piece of food - a chip - fell onto the recently cleaned table, to which I quipped 'I should get a free drink for that', thinking this to be a throwaway line, however the waiter replied, "what would you like?" and thus I was given a free drink because of a small inconvenience which wasn't even really an inconvenience. I have been going here now for many years, and the staff there know me and are able to deal with my particular requests regarding how a drink be served or how a meal be cooked. The only thing that can sometimes let the business down is the clientele, because often there are people who feel it necessary to make themselves a nuisance or invade other people's space once they are sufficiently inebriated, however this is short-lived as these people are often summarily ejected and - often - banned for a period of time to rentering. Overall, this is easily the best Wetherspoons I have been to and will continue to go to for many a year to come, and whether it be for a regular drink, or a special occasion, it will always be Wetherspoons for me. Special shout-outs to Craig, Scott, Jack, Sam, Simon and Holly who always go above and beyond for their customers regardless of how much inconvenience this causes them.

Great staff...one of your barmen paid for my daughters drinks when her card wasn't working..he saw she was embarrassed and stepped in like a true gent and paid on his own card..I don't know his name I only know he had a short beard ..but BIG THANKS to him.

Has a lovely lunch here today either my friend. It has new management and the whole ambience is lovely. Real fires, really friendly staff, good food. Nothing was too much trouble for them to make our visit pleasant. I think they are trying to make it a really good, old fashioned pub where company and chat is paramount. Menu was smallish but something on there for everyone. I enjoyed the Brie/cranbury toasted sandwich, beautifully presented. Can't recommend this highly enough. Please go and enjoy a lovely experience

Absolutely loved our meals at The Three Houses. I’m visiting from Scotland with my dog and we came here for a meal with my aunt and cousin. The food was absolutely delicious- one of the best steak pies I’ve ever eaten! I was so pleased to see that not only is the pub dog friendly, they even have a meal on the menu for dogs too! Flash loved his dinner too and was on his best behaviour eagerly waiting for his! I would absolutely come here again next time I’m back!

We visited over Christmas for the second time since it had been taken over. Both visits were great, food delicious and attentive staff. Great atmosphere with a cosy fire, and super dog friendly! Lady was treated to a handful of treats and water on arrival. We can't fault either meal we have had. The first being Sunday lunch, and on our most recent visit I opted for steak and my partner had Scampi. Good portion sizes, well presented meals. Looking forward to returning and trying more meals.

Beautiful cozy countryside pub vibes, log fire and comfortable seating. Delicious Sunday lunch, with the best cauliflower cheese! Reasonable prices and service with a smile!

Got served mainly by Ian and it was amazing service. He was very kind and polite, he was talking and having a chat with everyone and having a laugh. He was very kind and very helpful. Donna was very helpful too, really good help. Amazing service, amazing food. Outstanding place, would 100% recommend

Had the carvery Fantastic value for very generous portion. Ordered a cake away Ordered 2 portions but 1 portion would have been plenty enough for 2. Was served by a server called Ian who was very helpful, friendly and a very funny guy will definitely come again and would highly recommend

We came out for tea with the kids and was served at the bar by Ian. Lovely friendly bloke. The food was great. We ordered cake away for afters and wow the portion sizes were more than generous. Ian told us to sit back at our table and he would bring the cake out to us which he did along with bags to take it away. Can't fault the service it was amazing from start to finish.

We went after 2 on Saturday when the mad rush of lunch time had ended. As we had my grandson, we had to sit in the children's area. There were a lot of tables which needed cleaning and had food all over the floor from previous visiting children. We had to ask for a table to be wiped over, the bar assistant did this for us as the servers appeared a bit overwhelmed (and grumpy, one older lady said its not her area to the guy behind the bar) The food was nice as it usually is, just a little dry on some of the carvery options as it had been under the heat lamps for a little while. I chatted to the lovely lady who carved the meat. She had only been there a few weeks. She was very friendly and lotto talk to which was OK as it was quiet and no one waiting behind me. My grandson loves the play area, which entertains him whilst we wait for food to arrive. We used the app to place the order, and the carvery tickets arrived with the drinks. The guy behind the bar is always really lovely and helpful every time we visit. He can't do enough for you and always has a smile. (He has a large red beard, nice chap) There are plenty of parking spaces in the free car park. I had the small carvery, which is very filling, especially if you're like me and can make shutters on the edge of the plate and pile it well 😉. There are two gravy options, I like the plain meat gravy, which is lovely and thick. My grandson also had a carvery, and my daughter had hunters chicken. She's quite a fussy eater but this is one of her go to meals when we visit.

Fantastic takeaway - five star cleanliness, tasty, non-greasy food, and it is excellent value for money! There are a few dishes that are my favourite, especially the special in black bean sauce - very tasty! I have recently tried the singapore vermicelli, which is really nice, too. I will definitely return to try out more dishes. Thank you Taste of China! 👍 😋

Always lovely food we go hear rather than put local Chinese

It's the third time we have ordered from here. The lady on the phone is very polite and efficient. The food is absolutely gorgeous. The best chinese we have had for a long, long time. Portion sizes are hug, the meats all tender, not fatty. SAUCES are as they should be. The chicken chow mein was amazing, dry or in sauce. Sweet and sour chicken plenty of sauce and very tasty. The chips have a good kick to them and have onions in, too. Perfect. The po po chicken was gorgeous too. The spice wasn't overpowering it wasn't bland either. Delivery on time as specified. Packed well and came piping hot. Well done taste of China. Keep up the amazing food. We're really looking forward to trying more in the near future. Ps your egg fried rice I only have one word....wow.
