The food is imaculate and the service makes fast food chains want to compete and be like them for example McDonalds and the atmosphere makes me think I’m at Wembley

We had our family visiting on Saturday and went to King Street for a fish and chip family lunch. The food was excellent, as it always is, and the service was great. Great prices too. Thoroughly recommended

Our first time visiting Aya Wakefield and they are FANTASTIC!! The funniest, most thoughtful staff, nothing was too much to ask. A fantastic atmosphere, decor was spot on and the service was first class. We will be returning very very soon! Thank you!!

Absolutely blown away.. I was initially sceptical about Turkish food having been in few before. Fortunately we ended up visiting AYA on Sunday evening. Family of 4. The food was well worth waiting for (just long enough to realise all cooked fresh) meat tender and full of flavour, rice incredible and deserts to die for. All of us including two fussy kids ended up with empty plates. I've been to many places but this is the No. 1 for me and the family to go to atm. We will come back

Food: Ordered a sharing platter for two, just for myself. The meat is so tasty, succulent and melt-in-the-mouth that I NEED as much of it as possible. The puddings are fantastic too, I'd recommend the Baklava, really the most delicious pudding I've ever had. Service: Waiters visit tables quickly after you arrive and come back regularly for more orders. All the staff are friendly and cheerful, even making jokes. Food is served in good time and presented smartly. Prices are reasonable and absolutely worth it. Atmosphere: The restaurant is window- fronted, so there's plenty of natural light during the day. The indoor lighting is warm and relaxing. The kitchen is visible from the seating area so you can see and smell the food being prepared. The decor is wood, brick and plants on the walls. There are even positive neon motifs on the walls like "Good vibes only". The seating is comfortable and soft, the tables are solid and stable. Overall very inviting and friendly. I have been here a number of times with friends, having traveled long distance just to come here. You HAVE to try this place, and you'll see what I mean.

Well at long last, it seems we finally have a quality Indian/Asian restaurant/takeaway in our area. After reading the many excellent reviews already given we ordered an home delivery on NYE, and I have got to give my utter complements to the chef, our variety of food order was nothing but excellent. Thank you all so much SYLHET.

Polite on the phone the delivery guy was nice. My son had a donner kebab and couldn't believe how big and tasty it was! My partner had a curry and said its the best one he's had. All thumbs up from the other kids with a burger and chips. Our new take out place food was spot on.

Didn't know Sylhet existed till tonight when I looked up places to order dinner for me and the Mrs. After reading the reviews and clicked on they are where Caspian and Grill once used to be I had to order a delivery. Delivery was quick, like 20 mins quick, didn't even get to finish a game before the driver was at my door but no complaints here. The driver was very kind and jolly and the food arrived hot and can be eaten straight away without reheating. Food was great, ordered a Sylhet Kitchen Special to share and was expecting it to be swimming in oil but it wasn't which was a surprise but this is based from ordering from other places in the past. Mrs was particularly happy with the bhajis as it wasn't just 99% fried batter and 1% onion, again from past experience. Salad was fresh and the poppadoms wasn't stale (I ordered 2 and got 4 thinking I was paying per poppadom so that was a nice surprise too). Overall a very nice dinner and a good pick me up after work. We will make time to dine in and bring some BYOB as advised by another reviewer. Keep at it guys and welcome to Normanton!

Had three takeaways in the past two weeks from Sylhet and they've all been beautiful! Red hot, delivered on time or early, very well priced and so tasty. Nice to have a good restaurant in the town will definitely be back ☺️

Really beautiful food, we came to celebrate a friend's birthday & looking to book again. We used the £20 lunch deal, and it was absolutely amazing value for money! The salad bar was evidently fresh and constantly restocked, the meat came around with really nice waiting staff, who were polite and helpful. My daughter has ARFID & eating out makes it difficult for us, luckily the salad bar had lots of her safe foods on, such as plain rice, crackers, boiled egg and cheese. The staff also put chips on our table and brought more once they had been eaten. I didn't need to mention my daughters food disorder due to how friendly the staff were and how much of it was accessible to her needs. To find somewhere that gives her the opportunity to sit and eat in an actual restaurant with access to a large number or safe foods means the world to us as a family. We will certainly be returning 😊 10/10. *it is also incredibly clean and modern inside, a really beautiful place.

Excellent quality food and fantastic service. All the meats were excellent and the staff kept bringing more. There’s a pleasant self-service salad/buffet bar too. It was basically empty on our afternoon visit so we got excellent personal service and everything cooked specifically for us. The minted lamb was my personal favourite. We will be back.

We bought a gift voucher 50% off and we eager to try. The salad bar had everything you need, everything was fresh and continuously being topped up. The best bit for me was unlimited peppercorn sauce yummy! The halal meats were good I think only a few options weren't served to us as they weren't halal. My favourite was the garlic steak. Garlic bread was amazing and they even bought chips to the table. Im not too happy with the 10% charge and the charity donation as this wasn't discussed. The hot pineapple was great. I enjoyed and would return. Parking is an issue!

Had a good fitout and good staff for a while now which has been great, chef/food provider has changed a few times over the last couple years but tried again today and it’s top notch. Also dog friendly, all in all exactly what the village needs.

Under new management, and the place looks amazing! The food is to die for and is also a good price, as well as the cocktails! Honestly amazing, would definitely go for a bite to eat and a cocktail or two (or maybe the whole menu). Cannot begin to tell you how friendly and lovely the staff are, they honestly could not do enough for you! So attentive and you can tell they actually care. Will be definitely coming again, and bringing the family too!!

My 1st visit to the H&Jockey went with friends to watch Woody the String Man friendly staff, great atmosphere excellent entertainment hope they book him again, we'll definitely be back if they do 👍😀

A superb, traditional and historic pub with low ceilings and lots of character. There is also a peaceful beer garden and bright conservatory at the back. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was freshly cooked, generously portioned and very good quality. We had the Sunday roast and a Thai dish which were both excellent. This is so much better than the many chain pubs nearby and well worth seeking out either for a craft beer and/or an excellent meal

Sunday lunch was fantastic actually! Proper Sunday lunch. Finding a menu, and a table is a bit of an exploration though through random doors and hallways, with staff not very helpful unless you specifically ask for help. They stood and watched us wander around lost.

A lovely, traditional pub in an absolutely beautiful location. The views outside are fantastic. The service was speedy and the two staff that we spoke to were friendly and polite. Our drinks were perfect. The weather was extremely hot, so we sat outside in the shade of a large tree. A pleasure that we look forward to repeating.

Very popular village pub alongside an open green heath. Fairly plain on the outside, but the inside offers an intrigue of dark walled rooms and corridors that are magical. Stepping back in time, this pub has a good selection of beers and friendly staff. It's history is proudly available to read in a prepared folder. Seating inside, including a conservatory, and outside in the garden. Friendly staff and fellow customers. Food is available in the Thai restaurant next door, which is also reached through a corridor from inside the pub.

Never had a bad meal here. The best Sunday roast in Yorkshire puddings to die for! Starters are a must i can never manage a pudding as well but they looks special. Staff are very attentive.

Lovely little restaurant serving top quality classics, often with a twist. Come here relatively regularly, always very good. They are very accommodating for our children, we come with a toddler to an early sitting and the staff are amazing with her.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Iris! The blue cheese arancini for starter was a standout with its well-balanced flavors and lovely texture. The confit duck leg for the main course and the golden snitch for dessert were equally delicious. The service from the staff was excellent. We will definitely be returning for more delicious meals! There was also a good atmosphere in the restaurant… it was busy but not too loud which a good selection of music playing.

We received a voucher from our letting agents to try a local restaurant. We really enjoyed our meal . We had some snacks, starters, mains and an extra side . I had an aperitif drink and a wine , my husband had a cider . Without the voucher it would have been around £75. Service was good at arrival and throughout but slow in the end when wanting to pay. It’s a pretty restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I’d recommend as a good restaurant in Wakefield.

Absolutely the best Chinese takeaway in Normanton! The staff are polite including the delivery driver & as for the food.... top quality definitely the nicest I've had & believe me, over the years I've had a lot!! Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

First time and loved it, ribs melted away. Chicken wings lightly battered and perfect and salt and pepper chips some of best ever had. Happy we tried this place

All the staff were very welcoming. Ash was lovely, lively, welcoming and very informative. The lamb chops were excellently cooked and well seasoned and the special lamb and chicken karahi's (served in the pan after 30 mins cooking) were a taste sensation, the spicing was delicate and the meat just fell apart in the mouth. The mixed starter was also excellent quality with a variety of delectable dishes (the seekh kebab was tender and the bhaji was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle) 🤤🤤 We will definitely be back 😀😀

My fav place to eat out! I had my Christmas dinner here and will be my new tradition! Everytime I go whether that eat in or take out, I am never disappointed the quality is consistent every time. The food is tasty and the staff can not do enough for you!

Best fish an chip shop in Normanton Been loyal for over 30 years I won't Go anywhere else

Having sampled all five local chippies this has to rate as the best. Delicious haddock unlike most in the area, cooked perfectly and fresh. Chips done just right, not under or over cooked.
