No words, other than ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! From stepping through the door, the service was awesome warm, friendly and informative with a hint of good humour. Food presentation was superb, and it's a fantastic concept where the different varieties of meat are brought out and hand carved direct to you. Eat as much as you like...will be dangerous as it's so damned good! Prepare to have to restrain yourself, or not...and I wouldn't blame you! Thank you, best and most unique dinner experience in quite some time. Next time I'm in Barnsley, I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend this place for a superb steak and meat fest.

A party of x11 of us last night 26 - 01 - 2025 at Estabulo Barnsley, We had a Fabulous time, The Food was Amazing & all cooked to our specifications. The service was Fantastic, We had some really good chats & banter with the staff there. The staff could not do enough for us. The atmosphere was Brilliant. They really made our night Fabulous!... Looking forwards to going again.

Wonderful concept, the meats are all fantastic 👍🏻 I can highly recommend the fillet mignon and the pork belly with the pineapple in cinnamon! I couldn't eat it all there was that much! Indeed I said no to at least three visits by the 'meat waiter's!

We had our meal on a Saturday at 5pm. We could choose our table. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I had ribeye steak my husband had a full rack of ribs in whiskey sauce. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding. My husband had strawberry meringue. The good was excellent. Very tasty. Would highly recommend.

Jimmy absolutely wonderful waiter and has a great sense of humour. Behind the bar staff member very nice and respecting. Chef cooked amazing food and we will definitely go again. Was nearly empty when we arrived and then it filled up quickly and I can see why. New favorite place. Well looked after with being served and very clean. Toilets are very out of the way so cleanliness is great. Very fine dining decor.

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH. We weren't sure what to expect as we'd not been here before. There were 11 of us booked for Christmas Day Lunch. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and immediately seated at our table and offered drinks. No messing about and the whole restaurant looked beautiful. The staff worked their socks off, were attentive, efficient and very funny. We were made to feel very welcome. As for the food of which there was plenty ..... Top marks to the chefs. It was delicious. Everything that everybody ordered was served beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and really hot. All 11 of us were served all together. The whole atmosphere was superb, we never felt rushed and at no time did any of the staff appear not to want to be working on Christmas Day !! Thank you for all your hard work and for making our Christmas Day Lunch special.

Absolutely stunning service food & atmosphere. This must be the best restaurant for miles that ticks every box. Great value. A busy Saturday evening but the staff so efficient it was as if only us there as we had drinks & food brought with no delays. The chefs are just amazing. The staff so friendly and great sense of humour as another review mentioned. We took family that were visiting from Scotland and they were equally impressed. A massive thanks to all at the Grille for making it a special occasion by going the extra with the surprise birthday 🎂 cake/candle popping brought to our table that Absolutely made our night seeing my sister in law's reaction 😊

We had the best risotto we've ever eaten at MezzAluna last night. The food was delicious and stayed really hot throughout eating it. Staff were really attentive and the whole place was scrupulously clean. Chairs were comfortable and there was a great atmosphere in there throughout the evening. We would highly recommend this restaurant. A fantastic Christmas treat for myself and hubby.

Ate here on a very busy new years eve, every table was booked and the bar area packed. Despite this, the service and atmosphere was on point and the food was absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again soon.

Great Italian restaurant. Very nice food, good service and decent prices. Early bird menu is real value for money if you want multiple courses.

Took my friend for lunch today. Very impressed. A lovely setting with a friendly, warm welcome. We chose fish, chips and minted mushy peas from the lunchtime menu. The food was hot, absolutely delicious and served on a warm plate. The choice of sweet is limited but the sticky toffee pudding and fruit crumble were both beautifully presented and again, delicious! The service was outstanding and the pricing is excellent value for money. Overall a lovely birthday celebration for my friend. I highly recommend the Crown and Anchor. We will definitely be back.

I had a beef sandwich and it was good my wife had fish and chips which was excellent. I would definitely recommend you go. The staff were very attentive and knowable they had a great attitude as well which is hard to find these days

Something has changed and for the better…. We stopped to going into the Royal as it was like the only way is Essex, skinny jeans and tight vests and that were the men ..…. It’s now more like it used to be when it first opened, far nicer clientele, the two girls that looked after us Kate and Amy were exceptionally tentative from start to finish… I’m really surprised at some of the bad comments on here & can only think that they must be some of the young chavvy only way is Essex past clientele… The cocktail menu is extensive and the tapas menu has a lot to choose from. The dishes that we ordered were exceptional, fresh, very tasty & really good sized portions. For two women having a catch up and having a bite to eat, we had a wonderful three hours there & weren’t rushed from our tables like you can be in some places, we enjoyed it so much that we are booking to go back again together and also planning to go with our other halves separately as well. Well done Kate and Amy and the kitchen staff for looking after us. The garden and the marquee are exceptional too, and the pictures that are on here do not do the royal any justice at all. I’m so glad that we have something on our doorstep that we can go to without being surrounded by fake tan and Turkey teeth 🤣

Excellent menu, very friendly staff and lovely food. We opted for three items which included belly pork (lovely), spicy meatballs, prawns which were especially nice. Highly recommended 👌

This was a great find. The food is delicious. I had 3 tapas dishes (squid, prawns and paella) and they were very filling. The customer service was great. I went on a Wed and there was a quiz on which was great fun. They have a great range of drinks. Recommend

Very nice pub food, went with my husband & grandparents and the staff were very accommodating, even putting the heater on so they wouldn’t get cold. We had 3 courses and all were very nice, portions are a good size and all was good quality. I would say the salmon & gnocchi dish was quite oily and could do with some vegetables as it was just all carbs and protein. The meat & fish were high quality, and the sticky toffee pudding was a real highlight, we will definitely come back.

Came today for a birthday meal. I recommend booking a table in the festive period as it is popular for larger parties. We ordered from the main menu and the food was delicious. The pie of the day was certainly a showstopper, steak and ale cooked to perfection and what a portion!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the place was clean and neatly presented.

Went here after visiting YSP. It is just off the M1 junction 38, which is great for anyone wanting to stop off for lunch who is driving a fair distance on the motorway. The building is an attractive stone building with plenty of parking space. We noticed on the way in a large downstairs area that looked set up for a kids' party. On entering, we were greeted and shown a table. The ambience and decor were very nice. Good selection on the menu without being over fussy, we went for the fish and chips and chicken and chorizo burger. Both dishes came in good time and were very tasty, my Wife said the fish and chips were one of the best she's had. Throughout the staff were friendly and attentive. The meal and 2 drinks came to £38 so pretty good on value. Overall, it was a great experience.

Had the function room for my sons wedding reception. Good size for 70 to 90 guests. Function room set out really well easy to access with facilities on one level. The food and service was excellent, decent selection of beverages prices what you would expect to pay. Large carpark, larger outside tables and seating areas includeing kid's play area. We'll run established and would recommend giving it a try.

Me and my partner went for a meal and had arancini for starter, the mushroom pie and steak for our mains, and a dessert cocktail afterwards. All was absolutely lovely and great service, looking forward to going again.

Fantastic food, I tried pigeon for my starter and it was served with creamy mushrooms which was great. Very nice sirloin roast dinner, and one they best deserts I’ve ever had: raspberry blondie bites sundae with lemon sorbet. Great service too, very warm atmosphere and cosy interior.

What an absolute delight! I visited today while my car was being serviced locally (Wright’s Valet - also amazing). I checked it would be ok for me to wait, with a drink, my book and perhaps some food. I was made so welcome! Got a great pint and settled down to read. The food coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful, and all the staff team were working flat out, with such friendliness and enthusiasm - a really great vibe. Customers were very friendly and chatty, there was a lovely warm fire and I wished I didn’t have to drive as I would happily have stayed longer (and sampled more beer!). I decided to order lunch and went for the rare sirloin with all the usual trimmings. It was first class - beautiful beef, roasties, a huge Yorkie and fabulous veg. I wish I was local - it would be a real pleasure to make this a regular visit. Hats off to all concerned.

Stopped over at this pub in our motorhome. I do advise you phone them first and they will make provisions to accommodate you. Was made very welcome on arrival and enjoyed a first class sharing seafood platter. The food was fantastic and a great selection of well kept beers. The pub itself is very modernised and tidy. We sat outside on a beautiful September afternoon and enjoyed all the local people. Fantastic dog walk nearby to Cannon Hall Park and gardens. Highly recommend. 👍👌👍

Second visit to Spencer arms. Visited for Sunday lunch, very busy on arrival, lots of tables taken with diners and drinkers. It was a lovely sunny day so lots were outside enjoying the sunshine. Shown to our tble which was nice and in the main restaurant. Both decided on Sunday roast, 1 sirloin of beef(pink), & 1 roast of the day(lamb). Both meals arrived in due course, piping hot, huge Yorkshire pudding, accompanied with veg selection, cauliflower & broccoli cheese and extra jug of gravy. Delicious. Cannot fault any of it. Top marks to all the staff at Spencer arms for once again making our sunday lunch visit memorable. We will beback, for sure. Ps, make sure to book as its very popular. First visit to Spencer Arms, definitely not our last. Popped in for a late lunch, lovely ambience on entering. Shown to a lovely table in front of open fire. Nice menu, lots of choice. Opted for fish & chips and roasted cod loin. Both main courses were delicious, good portion size, all freshly cooked and well presented. No room for desserts. Service, ambience, food, atmosphere were all very relaxed. So good, we've booked again for Sunday lunch. Can't wait. Thanks for a memorable visit. Compliments to all staff at Spencer Arms. We've now returned for Sunday lunch, thankfully we booked as it was very busy yet had a nice atmosphere. Shown to our table and given menus and drinks request. Well it's got to be roast dinner. Opted for main course only, 1 roast beef( pink) 1 roast of the day ( gammon). Both meals arrived in due course. Lovely presented, tasted even better. See pictures. Can't find a fault with ambience, service, food quality. 5 stars to the team at Spencer Arms. We will definitely be returning.

Recent work night out. Excellent choice of food. Exceptional and friendly service. Good choice of draught beers. I wasn't impressed by the dessert choice , hence 4 stars. The portions of desserts could however be smaller from what I saw other members having.

We booked the Spencer Arms after visit to the near by Yorkshire Sculpture Park, our welcome was pretty flat, initially sat next to the main door and route through to the bar - requested to be moved to a better placed table which was granted after a few huffs & puffs… Service was pleasant though pretty basic, no check backs on food upselling of sides, starters or coffees etc, some staff training on this would benefit all. The real star of the Show was the food, Fish & Chips served w curry sauce and mushy pies were some of the Best I’d ever had, the steak sandwich w fries was equally impressive, we didn’t order desserts as the portion of the small Fish & Chip was plentiful. It’s unfortunate when the quality of the food outweighs the quality of the service provided, though you find this happens more and more…would I return again - absolutely the food we had was delicious.

The atmosphere is fantastic. Fast serving. The food is came on time. Food is very delicious. The side cup with chips on the portion of Bavette steak it's to much. I recommend that restaurant with two hands

We come every month for the Botanist Bingo and the occasional meal to cash in our winnings. Absolutely cannot fault the staff, everyone is so kind and extremely attentive, nothing is ever too much trouble and you’re always greeted with a friendly smile. The food is always superb, we’ve never had a bad meal. Good portion sizes for us and always looked perfect! Staff at the bingo are also excellent! Always happy to answer questions and accommodate our needs when we win the bingo. They go above and beyond every single time, they make the experience so much better than it already is. We love coming every month and we are always eager for our next visit. Thank you so much to all the staff x

Tried quite a few places now for the bottomless brunch and I have to say the Botonist is one of the best I have been to, the actual place itself is stunning while the service was amazing. What cocktails available on the menu were excellent. If I had to be picky I would say only improvement would be to add further selections of the cocktails. I would definitely recommend this to all BB fans Amazing time 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
