We went for Sunday lunch 3of us 2 adults and our son (11) we had the beef, pork belly & pizza. All delicious. The beef I had was cooked to perfection. We couldn’t fault anything. A warm welcome from all the staff. We will be definitely coming back.

As first-time visitors to The Hermit Inn, we were impressed by the ambience, standard of service and the quality of the food. It's obviously a very popular spot, based on the number of customers when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The pub is on the route of a number of popular walks, and arriving by foot to such a welcoming pub is pleasant indeed. If you're planning to eat, booking a table is recommended; the booking slots are a generous two hours. The staff dealt with the steady flow of customers professionally, and with a friendly and welcoming demeanour. The menu has a good selection of dishes. Our food arrived quickly, a credit to the staff in what looked like a tiny kitchen. The food was tasty, and well-received by all our group. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely crust of the pizza and very tasty chips from Theo ,8 years old. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Not visited for many years and was very impressed with the service and food. Our server Georgina was very attentive and looked after our big party very well. Great atmosphere, lovely food, cosy pub and great staff.

We were driving past and noticed it was a Free House so decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We chose a light lunch - husband had a mushroom and tarragon soup and I had potato and leek soup. Both delicious and served with sourdough bread. The menu and the food that was being served looked very good. If we had not already booked a table elsewhere that evening we would have gone back for dinner. Also a good selection of ales. Upper terrace has stunning views.

Amazing quality food. I had the Philly steak sandwich £19. I've had this dish before at other places and been very disappointed but this time the steak and the cheese sauce were amazing with crisp tasty fries the best coleslaw and lots of shredded salad. It was very unusual for me to leave food, but the portions are fantastic and this one beat me! We went at lunchtime and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. It was the first time visiting The Hermit, although I had heard many good things about it. Is on my "Definitely got to visit again" list. Definitely worth 5 stars!!!
