What a little gem of a find. Perfect pizza and great service. We will be back!

I found this place through Google reviews, and felt I needed to add another positive one. I live a 15 minute drive from this place. Everywhere around us is poor to average, so we searched the area and saw what people had to say about this place. Thought we'd give them a try. Looking at the menu, it seemed a little bit more limited than normal but seemed to use really good ingredients. When we called to order, the guy answering was SO nice! An authentic Italian! In Barnsley! Brilliant! I was embarrassed to ask an Italian for pineapple on my pizza (yeah yeah, I know), but he was so sweet with my and really accommodating of me swapping ingredients around. The place was dead easy to find, really near the main road, and was clean and snug. The smell hits you as you walk in, proper pizza dough. He was as friendly in person as on the phone, even told me about a pineapple sauce that he makes himself. Going to try that next time! So, onto the pizza. My god it was good. So authentic. The crust was SO good. I had a 4 cheese with pineapple and hubby had Nduja - generous on ingredients and great quality. Normally I'd only have half and have the other half the next day. This is the first time in years I've had a full pizza in one go. We'll definitely be coming here again, it's overtaken our normal favourite place. Thank goodness it was closed! I didn't get a chance for photos this time as I demolished it the moment I got in the house, but next time, I'll update this with photos. Keep up the good work. EDIT: Just been for the third week running. It's now my day off treat. ☺️ Further edit.: I don't think we've gone more than 2 weeks without having a pizza from here, in 6 months. They've now moved to a restaurant in the centre of town, but it remains the best place for takeaway, authentic Italian pizza.

Awesome pizza! All fresh ingredients and wow what a base!! The Pepperoni I would highly recommend - just how it should be crispy edges and amazing smokey taste!!! Brilliant place! A*

Had a wonderful experience at The Purple Mango. The food was excellent, the best Indian I have had. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. We even got a pudding on the house!!! Will definitely be back again soon!

First time takeaway from this restaurant. Chicken Madras, Dupiaza and Pilau rice were fantastic. We have definitely found our new takeaway. The restaurant looks really beautiful so it might be a sit down meal next time. Thank you guys

A top quality pub... It is great value for money, friendly staff, warm atmosphere and a generally pleasant environment. If you're looking for a classic pub which is always busy you need to give this place a go. The pub is always lively and they often have entertainment or theme nights, I would highly recommend booking if you plan to visit at the more traditionally busy times as you won't get a table for food.

Good pub grub, big portions and really good prices. The steak pie is absolutely the best around.

Excellent quirky little pub, with additional dining areas in the restaurant and conservatory. Excellent menu, so much choice if you enjoy traditional good pub grub. Definitely value for money. Lovely staff, always willing to help. There is an on-site car park, and outdoor seating available. Definitely recommend , carvery on Wednesday and Sunday, normal menu rest of week. Always busy, as it dosent get much better so booking before turning up would be recommend to enusre you get a table

Called in, staff managed to get us a table, lucky should book really, all ways busy, really nice food I was as full as a butchers dog, had to take doggy bag home. Thank you Boatmans rest.

Lovely afternoon meal on nye, so relaxed and great service. Food was amazing. First time visit for a few of our party and they was absolutely blown away with the place, food and service. All staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. Salad bar was to die for for as was all the selection of meats brought to the table. Highly recommended

Wonderful concept, the meats are all fantastic 👍🏻 I can highly recommend the fillet mignon and the pork belly with the pineapple in cinnamon! I couldn't eat it all there was that much! Indeed I said no to at least three visits by the 'meat waiter's!

No words, other than ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! From stepping through the door, the service was awesome warm, friendly and informative with a hint of good humour. Food presentation was superb, and it's a fantastic concept where the different varieties of meat are brought out and hand carved direct to you. Eat as much as you like...will be dangerous as it's so damned good! Prepare to have to restrain yourself, or not...and I wouldn't blame you! Thank you, best and most unique dinner experience in quite some time. Next time I'm in Barnsley, I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend this place for a superb steak and meat fest.

Quiet, clean, and cozy location. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Excellent, filling, and satisfying food. The Ravioli Bolognese is highly recommended.

This place is amazing..i ordered on Door dash and its snowing real hard and no door dasher wanted to deliver..the owner i believe came and brought me the food...it was such a good gesture it needs to be told! I even tried to tip him cash and he would not take it..Bravo...the chicken parm was great and the pizza is perfect! They earned me as a customer for life... when place take that extra step..it has to be praised!

Coming to the Lime Tree is a real treat, the cuisine is not something my wife and I normally go for and it was really nice to step out of our comfort zone and try new, exciting dishes. After going for what we'd call 'safe' starters (food we've had before- calamari and halloumi) we explored the diverse menu (which contains firm favourites like pasta, pizza and burgers if you're not feeling brave!) my wife opted for the Karinyaki (aubergine stuffed with minced lamb and onions topped with cheese and served with esme and tzatsiki) while I opted for Pollo Vito (chicken in a slightly spicy sauce topped with aubergines, courgettes and a large slab of goat's cheese). Both were amazing! Cooked to perfection and with a wonderful mix of tastes that all combined into a real find, and one we'll both be having again. It felt almost rude not to try the dessert so I opted for the Baklava (pistachios in filo pastry with honey and ice cream) while my wife opted for a pornstar martini. The portion was just right, not too heavy and with is being quite a sweet dish it was just the right size to fill the gap without being sickly. With 4 drinks between us and all this food, the bill coming in at under £85 was also a real treat, the food is superb and I can't wait to go back and try even more of the Turkish cuisine.

First time here for my daughters birthday on a Monday night. The food was lovely. Service was great! Good choice on the menu. Value for money as well. We all got different things and we all enjoyed our food.

My first time here and I will definitely be back, the place is wonderful the staff are amazing and the food incredible. The best Italian food I have had and really big portions.

Fantastic Italian cuisine. Pizza has to be some of the best in town, good service too. Definitely worth giving Romano's a go, you certainly won't regret it. Highly recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous meal, my hubby had the Chefs special which was outstanding and I had the rib steak which was very tasty and tender. We shall definitely be returning and both of us will be ordering the Chefs special. Friendly staff and lovely venue (good music too) Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

It's better than brilliant. Great service. Food was better than awesome. Steak was cooked to perfection (Butchers Block), along with the chips... Faultless. What a brilliant evening. It's impossible to be disappointed here... Loved it. All the other dishes served to our table looked perfect, too...

Roast Beef Dinner. Very comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. The food was very hearty and of generous portions. For the price point, well worth it!

Beautiful food with the family. I got a trust the chef, having no idea what was going to arrive. It was the best meal I have ever had. I got a range of different foods and won’t spoil as to what was on there but it was exceptional.

We had our wedding reception there Saturday 13th July absolutely amazing Food which was exceptional atmosphere amazing and the staff so professional customer service 100% and Jackie fairburn made us feel special on our special day, thank you to everyone for making our day one we will always remember will definitely be going again and recommend to anyone wanting a special occasion to celebrate keep up the excellent work ❤️❤️❤️

We had a large family gathering here yesterday and despite the numbers, the food was faultless. The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit the very best, especially helping my 91 dad getting to the marquee after the meal and even put his shoe on when he left it at the table! Made to feel so welcome both in the pub and afterwards in the marquee. Very highly recommended and will definitely be back!!

What a gorgeous pub with a huge beer garden and lovely views of the sunset! The food and cocktails are amazing and well presented. Couldn't fault it!

Lived near the pub 20 years and today when visiting I popped in. Didn't disappoint. Massive outdoor seating available with wonderful views. Service a little slow but it was busy. Won't wait 20 tears to return!
