Absolutely brilliant experience at Hide and Fox. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the waitresses were superb. We went for the 8 course taster and there wasn't a single thing on there we didn't like. 100% will be coming back again soon!

We went for the 5 course tasting menu which was fantastic. Flavours, textures all beautifully en pointe and cooked to perfection. One of the best meals I’ve eaten this year (and there’s been a few!) Excellent wine list and the service was perfect too. Despite the distance from London we will absolutely return in the New Year.

What can I say?! The food was exceptional, truly. Every course was packed full of flavour, the staff were really polite and friendly. It was expensive, my partner and I saved up for Christmas, but it was an experience we'll never forget. We went for the 8 course tasting menu, but we also got snacks and bread too, so it was more like 10 courses. We had cocktails/mocktails to accompany and they didn't disappoint either. I really would recommend going. The food for us was 10/10 and well worth the price.

As always, excellent from start to finish. Wonderful staff who go out of their way to help especially as we were with my elderly mother. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with the roaring fire a bonus. Absolutely delicious, and innovative food, faultless. We look forward to returning in 2025. Thank you all.

Love this place! It's a few minutes walk from my house so we come here for a drink quite regularly. Some friends and I had our Christmas meal here last night and it was delicious. It was also the first time, I couldn't manage everything on my plate. They do seem to have increased their portion sizes -certainly on the main-and that's a good thing. The food was delicious and well flavoured, the service attentive but not intrusive. It's always a joy to come here and the place is beautiful.

My husband and I recently visited Boys Hall for the first time, and it was truly magical. We arrived earlier than our reservation to enjoy a glass of mulled wine in the cozy lounge, which was a delightful experience. The dinner at the restaurant was exceptional, and the ambiance added to the charm. We’re already planning to return in the summer to stay in their rooms and take full advantage of the stunning outdoor spaces. Highly recommended—a beautiful and aesthetic destination!

Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Not too big, not too noisy. Lovely fireplaces and the Christmas decorations were excellent. Coffee is great. Food was lovely- we had the shared porterhouse and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sides were nice, starters were very tasty. Service was mostly great and very friendly , except that one server dropped bernaise sauce on my partners lap and wasn’t that fussed about the fact he had stained his trousers. Nothing more was said or done and it did take the shine off of a perfectly nice lunch.

What an amazing gem of a place, set in a stunning place. The cafe is spotless clean, the staff where very welcoming & nice. We had drinks & cake ( our monthly treat ). The prices are very reasonable & the cakes were amazing. The hot food looked & smelt so good. Nice place to watch the small air crafts taking off & landing. Will definitely be back ASAP.

Great tea room. They are dog friendly and have oat milk etc. Vegan offering was on the smaller side, but they have only just opened and I think are building up. It's definitely worth a trip.

Lovely decor, atmosphere which are all aviation themed. Free WiFi on site and on a sunny day you can watch the planes take off and land in the air field outside. There is a field to do dog walking. Highly recommend the cappuccino and flat white. The former vibes with the distinctive plane logo imprint as seen on the photos. Coffee quality is far superior to that found in the chains.

Had the most amazing breakfast today, cool decor, good tunes and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know!! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

A great place to breakdown! Our motorhome starter motor packed in on site. The staff went out of their way to help us and put us in touch with a local mechanic who came out next day and fitted a replacement part to get us underway and onwards to France. It's a great venue for good food and beer and is dog friendly, as the name implies - but the quiz questions are too hard! So close to the tunnel too. Beware - all being well we will be visiting you again in early January 2025 (but we will avoid parking in the bosses parking space) !

Looking for a pub car park stop over in our 9 meter motorhome after crossing the tunnel, we had passed two that claimed “ample parking” but unaware you must be able to now buy smart car motorhome and not owning one we persevered, only to drop on this absolute gem of a place. Located on a very smart commercial / retail park, with massive parking, dog walks with foul bins, amazing views, the location was second to none. The venue was, as its name suggests dog friendly, the drinks were well selected and very welcome after 3 months in Europe ! The decor was as funky and inventive as it comes, and the street food was delicious. Well done everyone you have got every element correct on what customers expect, see you same time next year

What a great place! A wonderful evening spent with friends. Good atmosphere, amazing food and welcoming staff. Duncan the owner is a real character and loves what he does! I would highly recommend the pizza selection, mine was the Hot Thing 🔥 Pizza base made with flour from the local windmill, deep in toppings and wonderful flavour! Live outdoor music made you feel like you were on holiday. Happy 50th Duncan! 🎂🍻🎊

We visited yesterday as won a three course meal for 2! The only meal available on a Sunday was roast dinners... we had the calamari and the onion bahji scotch egg to start, which were nice! The roasts came out hot and were good-sized portions.. not the best roast I've had, but the adults roasts were £15 and kids £10, not bad for the price! The ice cream sundaes were really good, we all left clean plates, so always a good sign!

11 of us booked in for a Christmas dinner. They were ready for us, served us promptly with hot, great tasting food, and checked up on us (all good). Jo and her team didn't keep us waiting at all. Even the bill was very reasonable. Great atmosphere, good beer, everything was positive.

Been going here for years on a regular basis. It has recently been taken over and has undergone a huge facelift. It is now bright and modern with sports memorabilia hanging around the bar and on the walls. Rugby and boxing fans will love this. The staff here were and still are really good. Friendly and conversational when there is a lull in serving. Have eaten here recently and the food was good and at a fair price. There is a good choice on tap of lagers and IPA and beers on draught. A good selection of spirits too. Overall a pub worth a visit if you are in the area.

A fantastic family favourite with excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we visit at least once a week! Stubbs is hands down our favourite restaurant, and it's no surprise that we make a point of visiting at least once a week. The combination of excellent food, friendly staff, and a wonderful setting makes it a place we always look forward to returning to. What sets Stubbs apart is the consistently high quality of everything on the menu. Whether you’re looking for fish, lobster, steak, or a burger, every dish is faultless and always cooked to perfection. The cocktails and Guinness are always served exactly as they should be. One of the things we appreciate most is that you can order anything off the menu and know it will always be nice. The staff are another reason we keep coming back. Eva, the main hostess, deserves a special mention for the warm and welcoming impression she gives at the entrance. She works incredibly hard to ensure that every guest is happy, and her efforts don’t go unnoticed. Lucio, one of the waiters, is always cheerful, professional, and friendly, making every meal even more enjoyable. While Stubbs can get extremely busy even on weekdays, it’s not uncommon to see every table full, along with several large groups of twelve or more people. We’ve dined here both as a couple and as a family, and even though weekends can be noisy and bustling, (my youngest prefers the quieter weekday visits.) However, we are always happy to dine here, no matter the day, as there’s always a great mix of people and families. A standout feature of Stubbs is the absence of any "discretionary" service charge, which we often see added to the bill at some other restaurants. We always try to tip the staff generously because we recognise how hard they work under pressure to ensure everything runs smoothly in such a busy environment but it's so nice for you to have the choice of your own. When choosing foor our favourites are the starters of brie and toast, and tempura prawns, followed by the steak with peppercorn sauce and the Blues Burger often with a side of lobster. For dessert, we often choose choclate cake or the ice cream with brandy snap basket. We have also tried many cocktails here and the Mojito is one of our favourites. Whenever we've had a challenging week, we head straight to Stubbs for a meal that never fails to lift our spirits and round off the week on a high note. We can’t wait for our next visit!

One of the best places in Ashford to have a nice meal. Portion sizes are generous and food is well cooked. The service is excellent with friendly, helpful staff. One thing I like is that the service charge is not automatically added to your bill. They don't really need to because the staff work hard and so deserve the tip. I had no problem adding it to my final total. Decor is good and makes for a nice atmosphere and relaxing lunch vibe. I will definitely be back.

We ate here for the first time today and it was absolutely amazing! Everything we tried tasted perfectly balanced and packed with flavour. This is our new favourite restaurant in Ashford by far and we will definitely return soon!

This pub is a hidden gem. It is walking distance from the outlet shopping centre and fairly close to the Centre of Ashford. You wouldn't know it on approach but this pub has a serene riverside beer garden, traditional seating inside and a new (at time of writing) play area for kids. The food was excellent. We stopped for a lunchtime snack. Between us we had a fish finger wrap, a sausage baguette and the Cajun chicken and bacon salad. The salad was amazing with tender and flavoursome chicken. The staff were friendly, calm and couldn't be more helpful.

To our delight, the food arrived promptly, piping hot, and without the usual long wait times. It certainly feels like there's been a change in management, and if so, they're off to an excellent start. Wishing the new team every success – we'll definitely be back!

Where do I start? From the open day, we knew the Secret Garden was the perfect place for us—a beautiful English gem. From start to finish, the staff at Secret Garden were exceptional, with a special shout-out to Alisha, who was with us every step of the way. The venue is perfect, and they ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. We received wonderful feedback from friends and family, especially about the food—it was amazing! Everyone left feeling full, with many saying it was the best wedding food they've ever had. We couldn't have done it without the incredible team. If you're planning a wedding, I 100% recommend visiting the Secret Garden.

Kurt and I had our wedding at The Secret Garden on 1 September 2024. From our very first visit to the big day, everything was absolutely perfect. Every single member of the team is so responsive, friendly and reassuring. It just made the whole thing ten times easier to plan, and we could relax completely on the day, knowing everything would run like clockwork - which it did! We never felt like just another wedding couple to them, though. They were so thoughtful and welcoming, and they completely got what we were after. The food was genuinely fantastic. We wanted a really relaxed feel so we went for the BBQ followed by the picnic-y platter in the evening. Everybody told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. And it was so nice that guests didn't have to pick between the options - there was plenty for everyone! We really can't thank the team enough. We were completely delighted and had the most wonderful day - in huge part down to them. If you're considering The Secret Garden as a wedding venue, don't hesitate for a second!! We viewed the venue on a chilly but sunny day in February and despite very few flowers being in bloom and the trees being bare, the beauty of the place was breathtaking. From the moment we booked up until the wedding day last month, we felt so well looked after by Amy, Alisha and the team. The information pack is so thorough and included all the information that we needed to send out with our invites, the pricing is really clear with no hidden costs, and the sample menus gave us a really good idea of what to expect. The choice of food and drinks were amazing and we've had so many compliments from our guests about the meal. Communication with the team was really easy and every question we had was answered quickly. I didn't have any worries leading up to the day because the team gave us total confidence that everything was in hand. On the day itself, we were guided through each stage when needed but left to enjoy our time together and with our guests at all other times. The team dealt with every detail from moving our flowers from the ceremony to the table centres, ensuring the music was set up where we'd asked for it, welcoming the band when they arrived and preparing the coach house for the cake cutting and first dance, (and so, so much more)! We didn't have to think of a thing! We are so grateful to the whole team at The Secret Garden and especially Amy who looked after us on the day. We wish we could do it all over again!

The minute we walked into the grounds of The Secret Garden we knew that this was the venue for us! The grounds are absolutely stunning and it has a relaxed English Country Garden vibe. Amy and Aisha were amazing, always on hand to answer all our questions, setting up our meetings as we got closer to the day, nothing is to much trouble and our day run perfectly - thank you to all the fantastic staff there that made this possible! The choice of food options were absolutely perfect for us, having the 3-course sit down dinner during the day and coned fish & chips in the evening. We attended both taster evenings... any excuse to try out as many food options as possible and this did make it hard for us to choose!! Our day was absolutely perfect, we couldn't have wanted a thing better - my husband and I highly recommend this hidden little paradise ✨️ ❤️

Brilliant service and amazing quality produce. The lunch set menu is a steal for the quality of food offered here. We were looked after very well and the place was quite clean. The Italian vegetarian options were offered well and enjoyed the lasagne. The wine option by glasses could cover quite a bit more options, that was the only blip. Other than that, everything was fab!

Fantastic food and service, great choice. The only drawback is their deserts. Presentation fantastic but expected more from tiramisu ( my favourite desert ever) , it's sort of watery & tasteless. I've tried my hubby's cheesecake and would say the same - not much taste either. Everything else as I said just delicious

Absolutely outstanding italian food with the warmest welcome. We phoned at 1930 on Sunday 21st July 2024 and asked if they were still serving food they asked for how many and what time we could make it For I said I can get there by 8 they sad normally we finish food at 7.30 but we will keep the kitchen open I did not expect the quality of the food to be so good or the welcome to be so warm at that time on a Sunday. I would recommend this beautiful pub wit fantastic food and super excellent staff. They do not normally allow dogs inside but made an allowance for us but the garden area has a covered area and is fantastic and dogs are welcome in this area. Thank you all at the black horse for your amazing set up

We had an amazing dinner experience on a Saturday evening at Black Horse. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were treated like valued guests from the moment we arrived. Our little one especially loved playing in the back garden after enjoying some tasty lasagna. A delightful evening for the whole family!

This place is incredible, deserves all 5 stars. The service was so friendly and food was mouth watering. The price for the fresh family made Italian food was amazing, it shocked me the place wasn’t packed! Cannot recommend the venison spaghetti enough 🤤

What a marvellous hidden gem! Called for dinner last night (20th) and what an experience. Superb food, great atmosphere. The two hosts (sisters Sara & Lisa) were excellent hosts: knowledgeable, chatty and welcoming. An absolute joy, and a definite "must return"! Already looking forward to it.
