The Best Restaurants in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

Rated as one of the best chippys in England. Quite rightly so! Proper chips, large portions but quality. My fav is the homemade Rag pudding. But I know the fish is also ace. They get busy, but you cant rush perfection. Just join the queue, enjoy the banter and go home knowing you are in for a treat for your tea. This is Yorkshire at its finest.

Excellent fish and chips. Ended up here as Peel street chippy in Marsden was closed. Mushy peas were good. Choice of curry sauces- we always choose Irish and it was as it should be. The batter on the fish was nice and crispy and the chips were great chip shop chips - just right. We had Haddock and it tasted fresh and wasn't overcooked. Scampi was good too. The owners were really nice and chatty. Even though I'm Marsden based when I'm up north I think I'll be back to Hill Top! Thanks guys for top quality food and service with a smile!

I found this chippy while I was looking for a convenience store to grab some lunch. The gorgeous chip shop smell dragged me in and I'm glad it did because I had the best fish and chips that I've had in a long long time. The man and the woman serving were so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely find this chippy again if I am working in this area again.

Had a wonderful meal here last night. All from the Vegan section of the menu. Went for the hot versions of each meal. Spicy and tasty. Highly recommended 10/10 👌🏻

Well I must say this is up there with the best curry I have ever had. The prawn starter was amazing. I never had a prawn as big. The lamb main was lovely. The meat was so tender 👌 even had the pleasure of talking with the owner as he came to our table. The staff were really nice too. Overall very impressed.

Just had a superb Xmas Eve meal. Great food, service and atmosphere. What’s not to like? Oh, and for the chef to come round every table and chat with us, lovely touch 🙏🏻

Amazing food and service. Really interesting menu not like a standard Indian some really interesting dishes made with very high quality ingredients and cooked to a very high standard. Best in the area by a mile and if you were lucky enough to find something this good in London you would pay 5 times the price. Staff are very good, very attentive and polite. Been quite a few times now and always been top notch. Highly recommended.

The best pizza! Been to Anello a couple of times now and each time the food has been amazing! The pizzas are a very reasonable price, a decent size and cooked to perfection! Will definitely keep coming back and will always recommend!

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, cooked in an authentic wood fired oven. Restaurant very relaxed, great atmosphere, good choice of craft beers. Will definitely return.

Have to agree with every other review - this place is amazing! The pizza was fantastic but really the star of the show was the small plates. Deep fried olives (genius invention), porchetta, all delicious and something unique compared to the typical starters you can get anywhere. We had 3 small plates and a pizza between us as well as a glass of wine and a mocktail, it was £40! Incredible value for food this good.

Great service from Nick and team, and the food was superb - definitely in the top three best burgers I have ever eaten! It's good value for money as well, and a nice location - what's not to like? A must for every burger lover!

What can I say about this place?! Absolutely stunning burgers. Fries always cooked to perfection too. Best burgers we’ve had (and we’ve had a lot)! We’ve been back many many times and we travel all the way from Manchester. Simple food done really well. Fair prices too.

A really tasty burger in a very intimate venue. The location a very quaint and picturesque. Toilet outside is a bit strange but the place is challenged for space. The views out of the restaurant are nearly as good as the burger. Some really interesting concepts and twists on a burger. Top score for food. This review is edited. I originally had quite a negative experience but after trying again, I think this was an isolated incident so I am eating my humble pie and setting the record straight - I would recommend Rumpus.

Very small but very smartly decorated restaurant (Definitely recommend booking as I imagine it's full at peak meal times!) The burger was very good. Menu says 6oz but it felt bigger to me! The texture of the meat was amazing, perfectly grilled, still some pink in the middle which I had hoped for, and was amazingly soft and melted in my mouth. It would have been one of the best burgers I've had if it had been seasoned more. Although the look and texture was perfect, there just wasn't as much taste as I'd hoped for (wasn't much of a flavour to the meat). But there is potential for this to be an amazing burger! The burgers come with fries (included in the price), and I wasn't expecting much after seeing pictures in other reviews. But I have now learnt not to judge fries by their looks! The fries were really really good. Lovely and crispy on the outside and really fluffy inside. And a good portion! I wouldn't normally eat all the fries as well as a burger, but I couldn't stop eating the fries and ended up finished them all! The service was also very efficient and professional, and the prices were perfect for the quality and amount of food. We will definitely come back here again, and I would highly recommend it.

Been here so many times over the years and it always remains a family favourite. Really accommodating to dietary requirements and all round stunning food. Hands down one of the best Indian Restaurants!

Just had pizza from here. Rang it through for us to come and collect. Was ready in 10 minutes and the pizza was excellent. Really fresh, generous toppings and nice thin base. The guy on the phone was nice too. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

I don't know where I start with this place. I moved to Slaithwaite May 2023 (last year) and I love the place. I've ordered Yaadgaar probably 80 times (once a week with a very rare occasion of twice would be fair to say) and I just can't express my love for these guys. They've never made a mistake. One time whilst way too intoxicated I made a mistake and ordered cash when I didn't have any. I was able to walk down and sort it out. I've ordered chicken kebab (amazing), double cheeseburger also amazing, my partner loves the chicken burger, I also love the donner and the pizzas are amazing. Tonight I felt obliged to leave them a review because I ordered at 22:59 and they closed at 23:00. I felt really bad in all honesty but I got a piping hot double beef burger chips and a cola. The service was much better than I deserved at that time and I honestly just love everyone that works there. Thank you Yaadgaar for being my go to takeaway since moving to Slaithwaite. You are 100% on my Christmas card list xxx

Just had our first order delivered and it was super. After moving up to Huddersfield from Devon, my family (who are local) suggested we get some food from Yaadgaars. I am so glad we did. The pizzas were yummy and the fries cooked to perfection. Delivery was fast and the service was great. We did the pizza deal 2 and wow what great value for money. We will definitely be ordering from Yaadgaars again.

We had a really lovely meal. The atmosphere was great, the open fire was lovely and the food was spot on. Being gluten and lactose intolerant I sometimes get anxious about eating out & worried that I’m going to be seen to be fussy. They catered for my intolerances without a worry and were really good. Thank you! Would highly recommend.

This pub West Yorkshire is in my hometown, booked in for a meal and was not disappointed. To the chef it’s a ten from Len to the staff it’s ten from Len, we couldn’t ask for anything better. In fact it’s 11 out of ten the food was excellent tasty and hot. Well done all

Visited here for the first time with my Mrs. Firstly, the food was incredible! I ordered the 10oz rump, which was cooked to perfection. Pepper sauce on the side was delicious. Home made chips and a generous portion of salad just added to the delight. Mrs ordered the oven roasted chicken breast. The mash was incredibly creamy and delicious. The chicken cooked to perfection. The blue cheese sauce was lovely! We were well looked after by who I assume were the landlord and lady. Incredibly friendly and ran around working hard to make sure everyone felt like they were top priority. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Started with their take away service and now go after work on a Saturday. You get a warm welcome, excellent food with a great service. Take your own booze too. Just booked again!

Just eating some left overs at work from a curry I ordered from here 2 days ago. Absolutely delicious. I go here quite often it's a wonderful restaurant serves amazing people and the people are so lovely. No doubt ill be back in the next week or two

Great location recommended by a friend, great service, quality food and price fair for the size and quality. Best hot roast beef and gravy sandwich and fries ever. Amazing bacon brie and chilli jam sandwich with fries , with huge portion of onion rings on the side. 👏 looking forward to the next visit.

Ella and her team provided a buffet with service for the wake after my dad's funeral. The food was delcious, the buffet table always looked super sharp and the service was warm and professional. No hesitation in recommending them for an outside catering job.

Came here on a whim for breakfast/brunch. Service was excellent especially with our toddler, got her a high chair etc. Food was well seasoned and tasted great. The full breakfast was a decent portion without feeling "stuffed" after. Will be back to try to the lunch menu at some point. Music in the background was chilled and not overpowering and there was no clattering of kitchen noise etc like some brunch places have.

This was a random find as we were on our way to Beaumont Park, and we were so glad we found it! The restaurant is lovely and spacious with plenty of room for parking. The staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing! The only downside is that it's too far away from where we live for a second visit anytime soon 🤣
