Went with some friends for the pop up Greece food event, fantastic food (which even had a vegan option, very impressed). Lovely place with great views and friendly staff. Plenty of seating outside if the weather is good with nice views of the countryside. The pop up food events are a great idea and even if the weather is poor it's lovely sitting inside with a warm atmosphere and lovely cheerful staff. Everything was clean and cosy, perfect place for a stop off on a walk.

This place is without a doubt the best around! Finished to a very high standard, Liz & her team run a good pub 7 days a week. The whole place both inside and out is spotless minute by minute, the drinks selection is awesome which includes a great choice of their own beers along with a regular selection of guest real ales, premium lagers and ciders. This is complemented with by the extensive back bar consisting of Fine Wine, Whisky, Brandy, Gin, Vodka to name but a few along with all the other wines and spirits served with high quality mixers as you would expect.

Warm, friendly, happy people and service awesome as always! Even in the snow it's booming with lovelyness!

Very nice spot for a drink. Came recommended. Lots and lots of outside seating with views across the fields and valley. Naturally gets busy in good weather especially. Good selection of real ale. Best nominate a driver if you fancy a few as the walk up to it can feel a long one! Would have been 5 stars and stayed longer if food was offered for sure.

Our first time visiting. The food was exceptional, the waiting time allowed for a pint next door and the staff were welcoming. Couldn't ask for a better experience. We will definitely be back, there are so many other things on their extensive menu that we want to try.

One of the nicest curries we have ever had. There were two waiters, one was so lovely but the other was a bit sharp. That would be my only criticism. Would definately return.

Great Indian, probably the best in the area. Fantastic curry, predicatable and doesn't vary wildly like other places. Really good service and the delivery food is just as good as in the restaurant!

Great sandwich shop, service is wonderful and the food is really good. More than just your traditional sandwich shop, offering hot and cold sandwiches, meals to eat in or take away. Well worth a stop for a bacon sandwich.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us for my grandma's birthday lunch. We hired a VIP pod which they had added some lovely decoration to. There was also a dress up box for some fun, it was really toasty despite the weather outside and there was music playing. The staff were so friendly, and so attentive, and it was such a beautiful place to eat- the food was delicious too! Most of us were vegetarian and there was a decent range of options that we were all happy with, having checked out the menu online. It was the perfect meeting point between myself and the rest of my family, we will absolutely be going back! I might even bring my dog along next time ☺️

Great cafe, so much better than expected for a small off road option. Boutique vibe with very friendly staff. We arrived on Sunday at lunch time without a booking and were told they were fully booked out, luckily as we had travelled far to get there the staff were able to free up a table for us. The food was great, good price & freshly made. Lots of parking and dog friendly.

Finally visited for the first time today. Truly stunning place, excellent food and exceptional service. First class Second visit today - 2nd Jan 2025 … absolutely outstanding. Chose off the lunch menu and it was perfect. We were in the POD, lovely experience. Everything about this place is first class - we will be coming lots more! The staff, as always we’re perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. Accommodated some different requests happily and with ease. Food was lovely - a great range of sandwiches, hot food and home made cakes. French soup was delicious! A fabulous time, enjoyed by all! Thank you 🤩

Staying locally for a holiday and the family voted for Indian takeaway for Sunday dinner. I mean why not. This was close to where we were and looked well turned out. The menu looked to have a few unusual items which appealed and set the place apart. We phoned an order in for collection which took 30 minutes. There's some on street parking round the area but no dedicated parking we could see - not an issue (I think they've moved location recently and the map on the menu is out of date). I was met by a man at the door who was polite and courteous, he gave me the food and a free bottle of 1664 to boot! Many thanks. The food was really tasty and had decent portion sizes. We had a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, I ordered a mixed tandoori (unusual for me). It was ever so good, with a pleasant lemon tang coming through from the marinade on some of the pieces. We have only had takeaway and I absolutely recommend the food. The interior of the restaurant looked clean and maintained so would expect eating in to be as good as the takeaway.

I’ve been to and ordered from pink elephant probably 15-20 times and never been disappointed. At this point I’ve tried most of the dishes on the menu and been impressed with the vast majority. Friendly staff whether you’re eating in or taking out. My go to Indian/Persian place in Huddersfield.

I have been meaning to put a review on since my birthday in June, I would just like to say service and food a brilliant as always. We lost something while there and realised afterwards they went above and beyond to help us and located our missing item thank you so much!

An absolutely fantastic stay. Good location with ample parking. Just a short taxi ride from town. Beautiful rooms, well appointed with quality bedding and furniture. The food is excellent and plentiful and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub section is cosy with a log burner. Totally faultless and we'll definitely be back. Thank you all.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here, from start to finish the service was amazing and the food was very tasty! Started with a friendly welcome as soon as we walked in, followed by a prompt drink order which is always welcomed, and very friendly service for Max, who truly is an asset to the venue, we mentioned it was the night before the wedding and he had lovely advice for the bride and overall provided great service to the whole table. We'll definitely be back and would definitely recommend a visit to everyone. 😊

Stopped here before as we had come to see Ferocious Dog at the Picturedrome. It was the only place with availability as it's a little way out. Great find. Nice rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food and plenty of it. Ideal place for walkers.

We arrived on Friday at a nearby Airbnb and The Pickled Pheasant was the nearby watering hole. The fire was light making the pub very welcoming, everyone was very friendly not just the bar staff but also everyone who was drinking ... dogs are welcome there is a good selection of beers and lagers. During the whole stay we frequented the pub on most evenings and every time we were welcomed even during the busy Sunday .... we will definitely be back

Came in for a quick coffee and was surprised by the ambience and the staff. Absolutely gorgeous little place. Honestly considering to use this as my wedding venue.

Visited for the first time yesterday for my birthday and was not disappointed. The roast was amazing and all my favourite vegetables beautifully cooked. What a lovely bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Will definitely be back as there are some interesting things on the menu I'd love to try. Thoroughly recommend.

Very enjoyable meal and reasonable value. One of our new favourites around the Holmfirth area.

Our first experience here, won't be the last. First impression is the wonderful building, an ex dyehouse - looks great, well set out, visibly beautiful from the outside, exceptional outdoor space (didn't use as it's -2⁰) Warm welcome on entry, and great seated area to review the menu, take a drink. Restaurant is bustling and has a great atmosphere, good music. Service was attentive and pleasant. Menu was a decent choice, not too many you can't decide. All choices were piping hot and really enjoyable. Sweets looked incredible, however ate far too much so gave them a miss.

Great local pub that is very dog friendly. Open fire. Cosy and very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Met some friends here for NYE and besides 3 other people we were the only patrons. I can’t judge the pub on any real merit as it was dark, torrential rain and gailforce winds. My car went under 3 feet of water just down the lane from the pub as it was so wet and cold I didn’t realise I was driving into a flood. Water was pouring into their carpark too, which was concerning! However, despite the lack of customers on NYE they still had a DJ playing music and Karaoke and still had a countdown, which I appreciated!

Lovely pub with character. There's at least one fireplace in there. Also a room desognated for pubgoers with dogs. If you are one, it's best to book a table as it gets busy at popular times. A few picnic benches outside, right by the road but on the southern side, if you like to feel the full power of the sun. Good selection of typical pub food and some fancier options. Pleasant service but needs more care when taking orders as took ours wrongly. The pub has a parking lot for somewhere around 40 vehicles. There are quite a few walks in the area including the ones around Blackmoorfoot Reservoir (10 minutes walk from the pub, you can park along Reservoir Side Road).
