The food here is absolutely fantastic, whether it's breakfast, Sunday lunch or an evening meal. This place is highly recommended, and I have been several times and will be back again in the near future. It's located in the Dean Clough Mill, complex, free parking. You will not be disappointed.

Paulicarus fancied a proper Sunday roast dinner so booked a table here. Friends had been before. Sat in what apparently had once been Europe's largest carpet factory. Certainly a huge building. A starter and main for £25. Two lamb and two beef. Good veg selection. We had starters of one wings, one paté and two chose asparagus and sea bass. All excellent. Good service and good wine. No real ale so Paulicarus had a £6.00 pint of lager. Very attentive service.

My husband and I visited for the first time today having recently moved from Leeds to Halifax. We were hoping to find a new favourite Sunday roast spot, and we certainly have! We both opted for the roast pork belly and agreed it was one of the best roast dinners we've ever had at a restaurant: perfectly cooked pork belly, generous portion size and delicious sides- we both loved the cauliflower cheese. Service was attentive without being too much, and the restaurant's setting in the historic Dean Clough was the cherry on top! We're already planning our next visit, thank you True North :)

Good restaurant in Dean Clough mill complex. We called in with no appointment, and there was no problem getting a table. It was a quiet early afternoon. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The food we chose was tasty and all prepared on site; there was one slight issue with one of our dishes and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating in resolving the problem, this was appreciated but not expected from us. True North is definitely worth a visit. It's a quality restaurant serving good quality food; this is our second visit and won't be our last.

Superb. Couldn’t fault it, everything was great, well presented & seasoned perfectly. Between the two of us we shared 3 small plates (pinsa bread, butter chicken, salt cod) and a mixed board which was a perfect amount of food. Staggered well, we didn’t feel at all rushed. See you again soon

Rubus social dinning is by far the best place we have been for a while!! from the delicious food to the caring staff, The atmosphere was amazing as were the drinks! We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning. Thank you all x

We went to Rubus social for food and drinks on Saturday and can honestly say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely amazing, each dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. You can tell that they really care about what they’re serving, what truly made the visit memorable was the staff. They were so friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality really added to the whole dining experience. Whether you’re going for the food, the atmosphere, or both, Rubus Social definitely delivers! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming vibe. We will definitely be back

Early Saturday evening and the place was already buzzing when we arrived at 5.15pm. We were quickly supplied with menus and drinks ordered. We chose from the regular and specials menu and the food was so delicious. The staff were nice and all working well to handle the constant stream of diners arriving. Wish we lived closer, but if you live in Halifax and don't know it - you should definitely book a table and enjoy the atmosphere, the food and great service.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, the atmosphere was amazing, the food was authentic and delicious. The service was top-notch, the coffee was hot and delicious. Will definitely be going back, even if I have to pay for myself.

Amazing! The best carbonara ever had, and an the steak!! The service and experience was 100/10! Alfonso gave such great service to us and all around , attentive and all staff were super helpful! This place deserves a Michelin star!

A lovely and modern little Italian restaurant. Went with a friend for lunch and ate off the Early Bird Menu, £18.99 each for 2 courses if I'm not mistaken. She had Halloumi for starters, which is a bit odd for Italian, but hey each to their own and she enjoyed it. I had Bruschetta. For Mains we had Chicken Milanese and I had Spaghetti with Meatballs (both pictured) - Very tasty indeed! Service was good, friendly. I'd like to try it in the evening when it was a bit busier and more atmosphere, but the Italian music that played provided plenty enough for a quiet afternoon visit. Recommended

Delicious food ,amazing staff , nice and cozy atmosphere

We got married at Holdsworth House in summer 2024 and we couldn't have asked for more from a venue. We were incredibly well looked after in the build-up and the service on the day was impeccable. The quality of the food was excellent, which is not always the case at weddings. We had our ceremony in the garden, and being able to look back at the photos has reminded us how lucky we were to get married in such a beautiful setting. Thank you to all the staff at Holdsworth House.

Such a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds. My wife and I just had a nights stay (Dec 2024) with 3 course dinner and full cooked breakfast. We got married here in 2009 and hadn’t returned since 2010, so we’re excited to go back again. Was great to see Tracy was still working there, she was the rockstar of our wedding and made the day go so smoothly, while always having a big smile on her face. Everything was perfect, from the lovely charm of the house and gardens, the very friendly/accommodating staff and the food was phenomenal. We had the festive 3 course dinner, we both chose different courses and it was all so delicious and well presented. There was a wedding on at the hotel at the time we were there, but the staff do such a good job at managing the wedding party and hotel guests both barely know the other is there especially as the wedding reception room has its own bar. After dinner we spent a lovely evening having a few drinks in front of the fire (apparently famous for last tango in Halifax, I haven’t seen it). Then had a good nights sleep and a superb breakfast in the morning with full English and pasties. Can’t wait to go back!

We loved this hotel. Great staff who are obviously proud to work there. Great food and drink all sensibly priced. Lovely gardens. Some VERY old parts of the building. Fires burning in lounges and dining rooms. And so very quiet at night. Pricy but sensibly priced compared to many hotels. Only a 25 minute drive into Bradford. AND, on top of all that, The Beatles stayed there in 1964 (and many celebs and actors continue to stay there when filming in the area.

This was our first time eating here and we'll definitely be back. The food was fantastic with really good choices on the main menu and specials. All the food we had was so tasty and the portions sizes extremely generous. We can't wait to return!!

The food was delicious 😋, I had the House Lasagna with added parmesan cheese on top and for dessert I had three flavours of Gelato, vanilla, peppermint chocolate chip and strawberry flavour it was very good and a glass of iced water with a lemon slice in it, the staff were very friendly.

Ricci's is definitely on our favourites list after just one visit. All the food was excellent, the staff professional and very hard working. Great value for excellent food. Definitely recommended.

Not been before, not for anything other than historical reasons. Good place, attentive staff and the food was excellent. Menu is a bit limited but the specials were cracking and not overly priced. Well worth the visit

If I had a criticism it was that there was too much salt in the gravy, but that's it, this place is stunning, the staff bloody fantastic and the food absolutely top notch. We came for boxing day and it was worth every penny. We'll be back.

We've visited before for dinner, but had our first overnight stay here this weekend. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Food was incredible as always. Special shout out to Emma for the best full English we've ever had! Rooms were immaculate and little touches made us feel incredibly welcome, while also feeling in luxury! Lily also made us feel so well taken care of during our breakfast, what a perfect start to our Sunday! Thank you all for the best stay!

I really enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere in the restaurant, we were a party of five, and as soon as we arrived we were treated very professionally, the table was perfect and comfortable. Although a little close to another dinners,The staff were very officiant. Good choice on the menu. I had A starter of duck liver pate, but didn't feel it had much flavour 5/10. My main was a very tasty Pork dish, with a great tasting black pudding. There was too much red cabbage but the cauliflower cheese was very nice. A good selection of drinks. Other members were disappointed with the Yorkshire Pudding which was very dry and burned. The gravy was already on the plate and would have been better in a gravy boat. I finished with the best even Sticky toffee pudding 9 /10. The price was very reasonable l had a really good experience, thank you will recommend.

It really is as good as it gets. Extremely well appointed and stylish rooms, Award winning restaurant with cosy bar and comfortable lounges. The staff bring the whole wonderful experience to life. I would love to keep it a secret but we all should experience the Shibden Mill Inn at least once, we hope to make a habit of it. It's worth travelling the length of the country just to enjoy it. Nice visit today on Christmas Eve for lunch. Prawns were fantastic as always and would recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Very busy and good atmosphere. Was seated outside but kept warm with the heaters. Plenty gluten free options also :) x

We had an awesome lunch. Fabulous service My fish burger was outstanding, one of the nicest I've had. The mushroom cabonara was delicious too.

No booking needed, quick service, very friendly staff, good atmosphere and beautiful inside. I'd recommend here for a range of food including lobster and seafood 🦞

Have been here a few times when we visit Halifax at my sisters, definitely have to book for a table as it is one of the most popular places to eat in Halifax, the food is so good, well cooked and well presented, yes there is a bit of a wait but what do you expect for such a popular place, it's not a McDonald's so please be patient, along with my main i ordered tzackziki with pita and one of the best tzackziki i have ever had and I've been to quite a few places in Greece. The total menu is excellent, we had a lovely bottle of house wine, so please give this restaurant a try.

We had an evening meal , 2 couples . It was very quiet which is a tragedy, and maybe due to previous owners? We were greeted a seated the staff were friendly and efficient the food was delicious , piping hot and beautifully presented. We had 2 courses and several drinks including wine and beer in a lovely setting and the bill was considerably less than £120 We had a lovely evening and highly recommended

We had a meal this evening, the food was excellent and the service great. The staff very friendly and had a lovely time. Would recommend this restaurant. Will be going back again soon.
