Lovely Anniversary weekend away at The Rushcart! The staff were so welcoming, cheerful and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean The bed was amazingly comfortable The evening meal and breakfast were absolutely delicious and so hot and tasty. The chef brought us some flowers at our Sunday morning breakfast which was so lovely. Wouldn’t hesitate to come again!

Popped in yesterday with friends and I have to say the food was beautiful. We had a very enjoyable day. The staff was so helpful, even the chef came out to ask if the food was nice. Definitely will be back. We should support out little country pubs so if you are.ever passing pop in. Dog friendly too. Thank you guys We will be back x

Stayed here for the 2nd time and it was just as good as the first. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and spacious with a lovely king size bed. The chef Chris was amazing with nothing to much trouble and is open to making things that are not on the menu. Breakfast again the quality of the ingredients was top rate. Would recommend to everyone and we will be back again. Thank you John and Sally for a wonderful stay

Friendly and pleasant staff. Big tvs, cheap drinks and friendly customers to talk to. What more can you want. Cosy atmosphere and large smoking shelter

Loved it! Great pub with a nice atmosphere. We went in for some food and drinks after a walk around the local countryside. Got to say the steak and smoked cheese pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long, long time! I hope I can visit again soon. The pub itself is lovely, it has a large beer garden with a view over the surrounding fields. It's dog friendly and more than enough parking. Definitely drop in if you're near by

The best pub we have visited for some time. Polite and friendly staff, tasteful decor and a good selection of food on the menu. I went with the smoky 4 cheese pizza and was very pleased with my choice.

Had a wonderful meal here with other half and 2 friends. The beef pie was beautiful, burger was great too.. the cheesecake was one of the nicest I've ever had. Lemon and ginger.. ☺️👍🏻friends had the chocolate brownie and chocolate fudge cake, both were great.. staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Will definitely be coming back.

We come back here, year after year. The service is very warming & made welcome. The Sunday Lunch of Roast Beef is absolutely Devine, faultless in fact. Dessert was Biscoff & Mars Bar cheese cake with ice-cream & Cherry Bakewell with Custard.

Wonderful little pub/eatery. Established in 1307. It's like taking a stope back in time eating here. The food was exceptional 👌 The service was brilliant, they have lovely friendly staff. Beautiful location next to the river. Would highly recommend if you want lovely food in a lovely place.

One of our favourite local places to walk to! The staff are really wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable - couldn't be better! The food is great and the menu has definitely improved over the last few months with plenty of options to choose from. The pie and peas were so good! The bar bakes are a must - absolutely delicious with a special offer if you buy a hot drink! A fabulous pub with great staff and tasty food in the delightful village of Ripponden!

I have consistently found great food, and great service here.. but there is a clear "set" that 1885 wishes to appeal to. It's not ideal for kids and families. Possibly depending on the time of day and whether they have residents upstairs. On my last visit I was asked politely by the owner not to return because my toddlers disturbed the residents upstairs (we came for dinner between 5-7pm). My kids were excited/activated and they are both young/high pitched but they weren't unreasonable, in my opinion. It's a gorgeous venue, and I can't rate the servers highly enough, I have always been treated kindly and attentively, but I won't be rushing back, I wouldn't feel welcome.

I recently stayed overnight as I was working in the area. The room was well equipped and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and the scent of the bedding was really nice. The restaurant service & food was also really good. I have stayed in many hotels for work over the years this one is definitely one of my favourites.

Me and my wife Di went to the Asian Fusion tasting meal in the restaurant on Friday evening and what a delicious 5 course tasting menu it was. Matthew and Nathan produced such great flavours and each course was a delight. We will definitely be going again. What a great experience

Stopped off for breakfast on our way home from Halifax. The lady serving was very friendly and attentive despite being extremely busy in the lead up to Christmas. The breakfast was spot on. A super start to the day & if we're ever in the area again we would definitely return. Thankyou

Food was really nice & the lad who served us was really friendly & helpful. Had a table booked for half 7 but didn't get sat down until 7:45 as our table wasn't ready when we arrived. Really nice place inside.

Visited here on our way up to Halifax on Saturday. Street parking, and managed to park outside. The decor in here is beautiful! Really tastefully done. Staff were super friendly. I had the beef and onion gravy ciabatta, and my boyfriend had the Viaduct burger, both of which were great! Decent price too, definitely worth a visit!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️First time visiting, certainly won’t be the last! Absolutely delighted with the food. Not only did it taste fantastic, but the portions were generous too. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and there was a lovely, family friendly atmosphere. 10/10!

On one of my walks on Sunday ( 21/7/19) and called in the Duke of York in Stainland.... A nice little pub but no WIFi at the moment, enjoyed a nice couple 🍺🍺 of Elland Brewery's Summer Breeze 4.6% pale ale , now here's a thing , I don't like pale ale .....I'm more of tetley type of man...but this was excellent ....I highly recommend it .... The pub was nice the staff great , in parts I wondered if it was about to undergo a refurb ... I will be calling again when I'm walking in that direction....👍😁 xkxxx

We went here to see a live band as to which it was a very very good band was called (kindred) they were great only a small pub but the staff could have been a bit more welcoming

Really look forward to attending the weekly pub quiz here, which Andy does a great job of hosting along with extra games of play your cards right and what's in the box. Sue makes a lovely supper that's included in the price - the chips are fab! She's such a kind lady and always brings out alternatives for vegetarians too. Cosy atmosphere with a nice view from the conservatory/outdoor area on a warmer day. Wish I'd started visiting sooner!

02/09/22 - We went here on a Wednesday evening at 7pm. We arrived early but were seated straight away without a problem. Front of house and bar staff were really welcoming and friendly and our drinks order was taken straight away. The food was incredible. Of course, as always with tapas, we ordered numerous dishes which arrived throughout our sitting. Each dish was beautiful. Fresh and tasted phenomenal. Huge compliments to the chef. We particularly enjoyed the prawns, ordering a second portion because we enjoyed them so much. Each dish was just as good as the other, cannot fault the food in any area. Surprisingly we made room for dessert, we ordered the cheesecake which was a 10/10. Waiting staff were great, checking things were okay, if we wanted any drinks etc. Overall an amazing experience here, we will definitely be returning, likely very soon to try even more dishes!
