The Anchor
32 London Rd, Sevenoaks TN13 1AS, UK | Pub P: 01732 454898
Rating: 4.6 (261) Price Level:
There is a reason the locals very much use this pub. You won't find prices as low as this for home cooked food. On our visit on a Friday lunchtime, we were amazed how good the pies were with seasonal vegetables. I would definitely return. We visited two other pubs in the High Street. One only had sandwiches, the other just over priced burgers in a brioche bun.
Rating: 5 / 5
This pub has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. The staff were so nice and kind, always checking in to ensure we were having a nice time. The food was by the far the most incredible no thrills meal. The roasts and pies were superb. Big servings for under £10 each. Highly recommend
Rating: 5 / 5
A classic pub experience which is hard to find in Sevenoaks! No pretensions of being a restaurant, this is a basic but friendly boozer with a good selection of well kept ales. A regular in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, I've never had a bad pint in here. Friendly regulars and a relaxed atmosphere make this a great place to relax and enjoy a pint and the banter. There's a small food menu with sandwiches, jackets and burgers. Great pub.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great old-fashioned boozer on the Sevenoaks high street (though it's a bit of a hike up the hill from the railway station for those with limited mobility but there is a bus service). Long-serving landlord serves good beer. Nice bit of live music when we visited on Sunday. Well worth a try😁👍.
Rating: 5 / 5
Best pub in Sevenoaks, simple as that. As well as a top-drawer selection of ales at the lowest prices around The Anchor has the full range of amenities you'd expect 'the local' to have but so few still do; fresh food every day, live music at least twice a week, regular darts matches, television in a corner discreetly showing sport, even a meat raffle, as well as occasional specials, for example an authentic Greek meal van visiting once a month. None of this would work without personality and under the leadership of Barry, the biggest hearted landlord in the business, the staffs natural charm make this the friendliest and most welcoming pub you could hope to visit. I've seen some places with 'Enter A Stranger, Leave As A Friend' on the door; The Anchor doesn't need a sign to say it, it's the reality of the place. If you don't leave here with a smile on your face walk across the road to the Town Medical Centre and tell them your soul's fallen out somewhere.

Rating: 4.5 (379) Price Level:
We had a lovely evening. Chira made it really special. Such good service. Food wise. Cocktails were good. Meatballs disappointing. Chateaubriand was very good. Burger good. Salmon good.
Rating: 5 / 5
We dined at this wonderful restaurant this afternoon. Beautiful relaxing atmosphere. Splendid customer service. Very attentive. We shared 3 starters, the Rock Shrimp Tempura, Salt and Pepper Squid, and the Wholetail Scampi. All 3 dishes were outstanding. The tartar sauce and dips were also delicious and freshly made. For mains, we had the Rib Eye and Sirloin steaks which were also marvellous and cooked to our requests perfectly and the green peppercorn sauce was delectable. Highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.

Visited on a Tuesday night with no booking. Made to feel very welcome immediately, sat in the bar with a drink while looking at the menu, then taken through to our table as our food was about to arrive. Staff were all great, very knowledgeable, eloquent and entertaining. Food was incredible, well presented and great quality, steaks cooked perfectly to taste. Despites being a slow Tuesday there was still a nice atmosphere. Driven past it so many times and really glad we've now been. We will definitely be going back, so many more things on the menu to try.
Rating: 5 / 5
Amazing food, would definitely come back. Lovely service as well. We were 2 people and we had a tempura shrimp starter, chateubriand steak for 2, steamed broccoli, and sweet potato fries. All were delicious! I would repeat that exact same order again. Ended up being about £100 total with a couple glasses of wine on there too. We did not dine with children but there were plenty of kids in there!

Branded was very well decorated for the festive season. I placed the order to collect, the order was late by the estimated time by a few minutes but it was understandable as it was Christmas Eve. Love the steaks from branded, there is a noodle dish that is very nice and my personal favourite — surf and turf. Food was still warm when I got home — great choice for dinner. My fillet was perfectly medium rare. The sauces are very nice too, not too rich.

Very nice food, meet our daughter there on the way back from a mini break , she sails in the yaught club. Food was very good, good prices , staff friendly. Great views from front of pub..

Absolutely brilliant place to eat. Opposite the lake. Food was really good and portions are very generous. Definitely recommended by us. I understand they have an open 🎤 night. Not sure what night though.
Rating: 5 / 5
Very nice pub, the food was good and our waitress was very competent. They could be a bit more generous with the fries though
Rating: 4 / 5
Visited for the first time. Pie of the day was delicious, fresh local meat, huge portions- reminded me of pies in Devon! Mash and chips were good too. Staff were friendly. Parking was on the road, its a small road which I can imagine at peak times would be busy, but there were no parking restrictions. Inside was a little small not a huge amount of seating and the outdoor seating was only 4 tables (overlooking the road and then the lake), but overall a decent reasonably priced country pub with seemingly good quality food. Worth a visit, would recommend opting for their local food!

Ephesus Mediterranean Grill & Cocktail Bar
57-59 High St, Sevenoaks TN13 1JF, UK | Turkish Restaurant P: 01732 456688
Rating: 4.5 (283) Price Level:
Ephesus is a fantastic spot for Turkish food in the area of Sevenoaks. It’s just off the main area and is a well decorated and modern restaurant. We ordered the meat meze menu which included a sharing platter of 9 cold starters, 4 hot mezzes and a huge grill of mixed meats. The dips and starters were perfect for sharing and getting started. The meats were well grilled and delicious and huge in portion. I believe there was a tiny bit of MSG but food in general was fresh and delicious. All paired well with some wine. Highly recommend if in the area!
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a lovely lunch here. Really reasonably priced. Food was delicious, service was excellent, really attentive but not at all intrusive. Highly recommend.
Rating: 4 / 5
Bit dead during lunch time. Service was very good. Food was OK. Might be better atmosphere on evenings or weekends.
Rating: 5 / 5
Amazing restaurant, great food and great price. I had the grilled sea bass and my girl got the chicken shish and we both throrougly enjoyed. The meals were well cooked a d presented. The cocktails were great and we made use of their Happy Hour. The outdoor seating is beautifully designed and makes lunches and dinners in summer amazing. The roof is also retractable so I can still see this outdoor area being comfy in the colder months. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and will be back soon.

Rating: 4.6 (241) Price Level:
Top notch brunch - this isn’t your regular brunch place, it’s top quality, fresh ingredients with great attention to detail across their food. Avocado on toast is amazing and beetroot cured salmon was 🔥. Not sure what is in the pesto but it was outstanding. If we are ever back in Sevenoaks; we will be back!
Rating: 5 / 5
Great service, nice ambience, though somehow the experience of the ambience wasn't as great as I am used to. It doesn't matter that the wall painting dropped, its the fact that nobody else moved and checked on the member of staff that caught it. Only thing that left a strange feeling, and stopped me from the perfect 5 for atmosphere. Otherwise great place for father daughter breakfast chat ☺️.

I took a trip to Sevenoaks on the ‘bike today and was recommended this cafe for lunch. It turned out to be an excellent recommendation! I had the Eggs Royale and it was simply delicious! I followed that up with a tasty espresso brownie with my coffee and I left very happy and satisfied! Great food and friendly service - I’ll eat here again next time I am in Sevenoaks.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great cafe with friendly service, well presented fresh food and good coffee. They have a great menu with a large range of plant based options. Added to this there is a great range of cakes and pastries for those wanting a smaller meal
Rating: 5 / 5
Great food, fun events, and friendly staff. Photographed here was one of their evening events (Japanese themed). The food was epic and the atmosphere fun and festive. I’ve also been several times during the day, with friends, family, and kids. They’re incredibly kid friendly, the food is always great, and the staff are genuinely kind. Once, we came just after they closed and one of the guys let us in so my daughter could get a sausage roll. How kind!

Great staff, very friendly and professional. Well cooked tasty dishes
Rating: 5 / 5
Visited with my family on a Friday night. We booked ahead but there were a few tables (we were eating a little earlier!). The restaurant is lovely inside with a nice atmosphere. They have a good selection with steaks at different price ranges and a lot of alternatives if you don't fancy a steak. Everything we got was amazing, perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband and I shared the steak platter which came with a sirloin, rib eye, 2 fillet steaks, bone marrow and all of the sides - it was a HUGE feed and very good value for money. I'd probably get something smaller next time though! Everyone was very happy. My niece was also with us and the kids menu was pretty good too. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and very helpful when my niece wanted some chips (after our mains had arrived) she sorted them very quickly. She was lovely and very friendly and we were grateful she was so good to us. Highly recommend.

Couldn’t have asked for a better night! We had Tracey served us who was super polite, friendly and professional! She took time to answer any questions we had and explained how their menus work as it was our first time. The food was gorgeous & we will be going back very soon!! Honestly cannot recommend enough. The sharing platters are to die for, we did the sharing platter with included a fruit red wine & lobster tails, 30 oz steak and Mac and cheese as well as the normal sides and pallet cleansers you receive with any steak.

I like coming here every so often. Not the cheapest place to eat out but it is steak! I really enjoyed the orange bomb dessert that I'd never had before, besides getting it all over new trousers, whoops...

Went there for my 2 year anniversary with my partner and loved it! The staff were very friendly and congratulated us. The food was delicious and came after a short wait! The drinks were just as good and the dessert was amazing. Our server Zoe was amazing. She was very sweet, friendly, helpful and made our overall night feel comfortable and enjoyable! Definitely recommend and will be returning!

The George and Dragon
39 High St, Chipstead, Sevenoaks TN13 2RW, UK | Pub P: 01732 779019
Rating: 4.6 (585) Price Level:
Excellent in every aspect. One of the best bar meals I've had (steak and Guinness pie) wash down with one of the best pints I've had (George's marvellous medicine) in front of a lovely warm open fire, and all delivered with friendly service. Although a chance find one of the best pubs I visited and will certainly be back
Rating: 5 / 5
The food here is outstanding, and so reasonably priced. We ate three delicious courses and paid less than £35 each. Honestly it is brilliant value. The outside area is really nice too. Only slight downside is the very tight car park, and we asked for tap water twice and never got any. But aside from that it is really great.
Rating: 5 / 5
Few places I take the time to post a review but this is one of them!! I stumbled across this place on a Wednesday afternoon on a work trip. The food was absolutely fantastic in particular the steak sandwich. It was recommended by Louis and Georgina which I must add went above and beyond on the service, an absolute asset to the pub!! I will be definitely be back.
Rating: 5 / 5
One of the very best meals in a pub I’ve ever had - everything I ate was perfect. The seating in the garden is very pleasant and the staff were all very helpful and friendly (although we asked for some water a couple of times and it never arrived). The food is very very good value. The bread and butter was sublime, the mushroom and truffle risotto so creamy and decadent and the Eve’s pudding and custard so comforting and tasty. I would really like to return and try more things from the menu. Soon I hope!
Rating: 5 / 5
The perfect first dinner in the UK! The aperol spritz mocktail was the best one I’ve ever had and both the beef and chicken roast dinners were super flavorful!! Even my kids ate it all which never happens ! A lovely experience! Also good to note that they are very kid friendly with a playground and high chairs and a great kids menu!

Rating: 4.7 (23) Price Level:
Very pleased to find this place; we weren’t aware that The Pavillion is open to the public. The menu is updated regularly, Sunday roasts are fantastic with really high quality ingredients, the service is always friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
Rating: 5 / 5
I had the most amazing Sunday roast. Excellent and super friendly service, delicious food. Hidden little gem in Sevenoaks. Highly recommended 👌
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a wonderful meal at Sunday lunchtime. Excellent service in a fantastic building. Duck spring roll starter, followed by steak and chocolate brownie for dessert. The food was cooked perfectly. A very enjoyable afternoon and highly recommended.

Edit: Been back again today to have a festive lunch and yet again it was delish. Sat watching the sunshine on the sparkly snow. Had the most delicious steak at the pavilion. Incredible location, picturesque views and fantastic food. What a great find!

Giggling Squid - Sevenoaks
3c Dorset St, Sevenoaks TN13 1LL, UK | Thai Restaurant P: 01732 465898
Rating: 4.3 (659) Price Level:
Amazing lunch at Giggling Squid restaurant in Sevenoaks. Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food and great selection of cocktails. I also loved the design of the restaurant, it was very creative. The place also sells Giggling Squid cook book with all the recipes that you can recreate at home! I’ve got the book now, but still am planning to visit the restaurant again
Rating: 5 / 5
We could smell the food from round the corner. Food is so well cooked and flavoured. Can't find a single fault with the food. Service was excellent. We were served by Edward, who made our cocktails and took or order. Such a gent. Gemma brought the food and she had the foresight to change our table before squeezing the food on a small table. Will definitely recommend this place.
Rating: 5 / 5
What an absolute find!! As it was mid-week, it was very quiet, which initially concerned me. We decided to chance it anyway. We started with cocktails, which were delicious and pretty. The food was outstanding for the money. The best salt and pepper squid I've ever had (and I have tried a lot). We also had the Chubby Pork Cheeks and they were beautifully cooked and so tender. The portion size was good too. However, the taste bomb that was the mushrooms and crispy tofu in tamarind sauce wrapped in some roti was epic. I couldn't stop eating it for the flavour alone. The staff were attentive but not overpowering. They were friendly and a good laugh actually. Have already recommended and would definitely return to try some other yummy looking dishes. Although it shall be hard not to revert to the same tasty dishes knowing how good they were. Great decision to eat here.
Rating: 4 / 5
Food was really really good. However, I feel like there wasn’t enough staff on. As they weren’t very attentive. I can see that they were busy but I feel maybe they should have more people on so they can offer a better service. The atmosphere was good, but would be nice if the music was a little louder. My favourite Thai dish is a Massaman curry, when I saw they had a lamb shank Massaman I just had to get it. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The lamb was so tender and succulent would definitely recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
Food was good, was very full by the end, the golden money bags and the pork dumplings were my favourite. The hot ginger cocktail was my dad’s favourite. However we were seated right next to the stairs even though we made a reservation. Service was good aswell even tho it was busy, servers were attentive.
