Had a fabulous family Christmas lunch today 23rd Dec 2024. Eight adults, six children aged from 8 to 1 year old. With great grandma at 91 Staff friendly food excellent atmosphere was really good. Would recommend this to everyone. Thank you The Black Horse

The carvery roast looked quite impressive for meat eaters, however, I had the veg nutroast and it wasn't a nutroast that I've ever experienced before. It wasn't great, but all of the veg sides were nice and the desert was really good. Probably best for meat eaters there. Good prices for the carvery also.

It’s very rare I ever give top marks for everything but…. Wow! This place is absolutely amazing. Ive never eaten a roast dinner in a restaurant and thought it was better than my own, but the black horse is on a level with mine but their meat was way better. The staff were absolutely lovely and helpful, approachable and friendly. The dessert was 🤌🏻💋 chefs kiss. The garden is a really lovely spot and it’s just a really chilled out vibe good for all ages and families too. They replenished the food constantly and it smelt amazing. The lamb was so tender and flavourful. Love this place will definitely be recommending and coming back regularly. 10/10

This was my first visit to this restaurant for a takaway, I spoke to the owner a very nice chap. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The next visit will be with my wife for a meal at the restaurant. Recommended.

Nice pub in a nice location with a large garden. Garden looking a bit tatty and unloved. Staff friendly. The food is quite normal pub grub but it was nice, and I think prepared on site (sadly not always the case in many pubs and restaurants these days) Dropping a star because it felt unnecessarily expensive - £17 for a burger & chips is dear, even in today's inflation steeped environment.

Traditional, dog friendly pub with great service and great tasting food. Visited here with the Mrs and our dog. Had a couple of pints, a toad in the hole, and place. Either the food was lovely or we were tired from our 4 mile walk, as I forgot to take any photos!

First time at this pub, it won't be the last. Great atmosphere, tasty food well presented, good beer reasonably priced and a terrific host. 100% love this place, what a great find.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Managed to fit us in even though we weren't booked. Staff very friendly. Service was great. Carvery was delicious.

Not been here until today but popped in for lunch after a walk. It was so busy but staff were friendly and welcoming and found us a table. Although they were very busy the whole time we were there, service was excellent as was the food. Lovely place will definitely visit again

Had a lovely lunch here! The food was really delicious! It was so lovely to be looking out on to the lock!! We were served by a new server on her first day and she was absolutely charming!! The other staff were really friendly too!! Will definitely come back here again. It must be lovely in the summer!

Visited on a Nov Friday evening, good atmosphere, live music (loud if you like, or quieter seating in the nook). Very tasty food, starters & mains. Selection of board games available too. Our starter, main & drink £32pp.

Very nice little quiet pub/restauraunt. Nice and close to the station, friendly staff, good quick service and truly amazing food. Good selection of Vegan and Veggie options (including desserts) and I couldn't recommend the 'Bombay Burger' enough! You'd genuinely not expect to find such amazing food in what looks like a seemingly run-of-the-mill local pub from the outside.

Great family friendly local pub with a friendly welcoming team, very good selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Tasty food with traditional pub classics, great choice on kids menu and delicious desserts with very generous portions on their Sunday menu.
