The House Restaurant

24 Ballards Ln, London N3 2BJ, UK | Italian Restaurant

Rating: 4.8 (412) Price Level:

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The House one late night in Finchley, and it exceeded all expectations. The Chicken Caesar Salad was a standout, with tender, perfectly grilled chicken and fresh, fresh lettuce, topped off with just the right amount of creamy dressing and parmesan. A deliciously satisfying dish! We also tried the Penne Pomodoro, which was a simple yet flavorful classic. The pasta was cooked to perfection with a rich, tangy tomato sauce that tasted fresh and authentic. It was a comforting dish that was hard to resist. The atmosphere at The House added to the experience, with a relaxed vibe with the music creating a welcoming environment. The staff were equally lovely—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about providing great service. Overall, I highly recommend The House Finchley for a casual yet delicious dining experience.

A lovely restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. The service was excellent and Sam was great. Delicious food. Would highly recommend and return again. The only criticism is that the wine is a little pricey.

Beautiful dinner on Valentine's day. The staff was ultra friendly! The ambiance was very dim and romantic. The food was really flavorful. Pasta was seasoned right and the pizza was actually really tasteful. Oh yeah we also had zucchini sticks which were sooo good. Will definitely come back here again.

I have lived in North Finchley my whole life and we have our fair share of cafes, but this one has exceeded all expectations! The service is phenomenal, you’re made to feel so welcome and at home as soon as you walk in. The decor is really modern and inviting. The food and coffee is top notch! Best coffee - trust me on that! Iv been several times now and won’t be going anywhere else. I highly highly recommend 👌🏽. Thanks for making my morning coffee such an enjoyable experience.

I went with my family (2 adults and 4 children aged 3-10) on Saturday to try this new local cafe out, was really glad we did!! The lady serving us was great, giving you the best service with a smile and already knew we would share some of the dishes hence bring them out without asking. The food was great too, we tried salmon with eggs and toast, tuna cheese baguette, four egg omelette with toast and full english. The portion was decent and was good for value. Last but not least, toilet was clean and great too, perfect for family. Being a fellow restaurant owner, we can tell how much effort the owner and team has put in term of deco, service and food!! Well done and we will be back!!

The experience at Polaris was nothing short of delightful and I can confidently say it’s a must-visit for anyone who enjoys authentic and flavourful meals. We ordered the Turkish and Persian breakfast to share between three people. The cheese and butter were impressively fresh, rich in taste and paired perfectly with the warm freshly baked bread. The omelettes were served hot and the portion size was generous packed with fresh vegetables and fresh olives that added a wonderful crunch and flavour. The coffee was served hot. The chef brought us extra bread, in-house butter and a family recipe jam that was simply exquisite. The quiet setting was perfect for a relaxing breakfast. I look forward to having lunch/dinner there next.

Excellent food, all generously portioned and presented beautifully. The lunchtime special for my dining partners was perfect. The front of house were accommodating when I said I was vegetarian, (there wasn't anything on the the lunch time special that was appropriate). I am very happy that I decided to share full size Mezze with my companions and daughter. She loved the Dolma! Everything presented to us was a feast for the eyes and stomach. We look forward to trying their dinner time menu with cocktails!

I had a wonderful experience a few Sundays ago. I came with family for brunch and we had the Iranian breakfast, Turkish breakfast, Arabic breakfast and the pancakes. All the food was delicious and with huge portions so very much worth the money we paid. The chef and manager kept coming to check on us to ensure everything was ok. Brilliant atmosphere and brilliant food. Ideal for couples and families!

My friend took me here as it's his favorite coffee shop and is now fast becoming mine too! The decor is warm and inviting, the owner is very hospitable, the coffee is fantastic, and the food is delicious and well-plated. I got the Halloumi Salad. It was light and refreshing, exactly what I needed after a heavy Christmas dinner. My friend got his go-to Garden Plate which looks absolutely scrumptious. Definitely coming back while I'm here in London!

We were really surprised by the portion. Most importantly, the food was amazing. The pancake was soft and topped with syrups, pistachio and very fresh berries. We customised our own breakfast and it was very tasty. My Oreo milkshake was the best treat that wasn't too sweet with loads of cream. What a great brunch! :) The shop was nicely decorated and neat though there isn't a lot of space therefore a bit squashed.

I had the opportunity to eat at this coffee for lunch during the weekend. It wasn't super busy, and we didn't have to wait. The menu offered several options between standard and vegetarian, all of the very delicious and interesting. They also make fresh orange, carrots or apple juice, which is nice. The service was extremely fast, and in terms of overall cost, on average. I definitely recommend it 👌

Great restaurant with very friendly staff. The restaurant has a fair amount of seating too. In regards to the food I would say the aubergine starter we ordered did not live up to expectations. However the complimentary salad was delicious and the star of the show was definitely the koobideh, it very very juicy one of the best I have had. I will be coming back.

It’s definitely a place I would visit again. I tried the “mirza ghasemi,” “tahdig with stew,” “kobideh kebab,” and “joje kebab.” Among these, the “mirza ghasemi” and “tahdig with stew” stood out as the best. The kebabs, however, could have been better. The service was commendable. Comparing their menu with other Persian restaurants, you’ll find that their prices are very reasonable.

An absolute hidden gem in the heart of London! I can’t recommend Goda London enough – it’s the perfect blend of authentic Turkish cuisine, exceptional service, and top-tier quality. I booked a table for my wife’s birthday, and it was truly a celebration to remember. The star of the meal? The incredible lamb shoulder – tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make the day extra special for my wife, creating an experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. As they say, “Sometimes the smallest gems are hidden in secret locations,” and Goda London is a shining example of that. If you’re looking for a place with phenomenal food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere, don’t hesitate to book a table and see for yourself. Next time, I’ve got my sights set on the whole lamb – I can’t wait to return!

My son and I walked in for an early dinner. We were greeted by lovely Adeena who very kindly offered us a table close to a heater as we had walked in from the freezing cold. She and her colleagues gave wonderful service. Food arrived quickly. The bread and sauces came promptly- delicious warm tasty bread . I am not a fan of the Turkish pepper sauce but this one was rather good. We had tasty borek. Both of us love aubergine and were slightly disappointed with the portion size but no complaints about the taste. Son asked regarding portion size of sea bass and was delighted that it was more than adequate. The request to swap mash for bulgar was accommodated too. My mixed shish was tender and flavourful. We also took home Adana kofte for husband who couldn’t join us unfortunately. I must say even though it was an hour later that he ate it, the dish was fabulous! And I have to say the table lights were great: no flickering led candles here! Overall a great meal out.
