“Very fresh selection of seafood. Generous portions too. Had the white bait, the cod fish and chips as well as the mussels. Very impressed by the freshness and quality. Batter for the cod is very light and crisp. The cod was delicious and had the right texture, and ratio of cod:batter. The black mussels were very sweet and I enjoyed it very much when paired with fresh bread. Service was very organised. All in all a great experience and I’d definitely bring my friends here when we drive down to the south coast again.”

“Came here for a lunch meal as a surprise birthday party, and can't praise the restaurant enough. The food was lovely, and they managed a large group very well. I've been to other places before as a large group and it has been a disaster, so it was really nice to see how well this place handled the 23 of us. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be back more often!”

“So lucky to have this fabulous pub as our local! The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to offer great service. With a Welcoming and friendly atmosphere, stunning surroundings and pretty decent food it’s no wonder this pub is busy. The only negative is they don’t take cash which is pretty outrageous.”

“Lovely place, nice spacious rooms with air conditioning, decent telly and comfortable bed. Very clean and tidy, with a nice powerful shower. I really had to dig deep to find any fault with the place, and the only thing I did find wrong was that the toilet roll holder was was a bit loose. The continental breakfast had a good range of food, and was a nice way to start the day.”

“I was on a one night walking break and feeling a little out of sorts. A lovely lady Hebe really looked after me and made me feel so welcome. I called in for a snack and coffee but booked a room. The amazing hospitality continued the next morning with delicious breakfast and Ellis really looked after me. I’ve only been away once on my own before and they really gave me confidence to do it again.”

“Located in a gorgeous dainty village, so cute. We had starters and mains, mostly the food wad delicious some small issues with the starters, the squid was fairly chewy. The atmosphere was nice but the service lacked a little at times. Things weren't communicated that great between staff, customers, and food wait times. Overall, we all enjoyed our food and the pub in general.”

“We booked two rooms for a trip with three teenage kids. The beds are very comfortable. Rooms clean and plenty of parking. The pub food was lovely. Pub classics as well as a selection of other stuff. We only had one meal there, wish we had more. Our bedroom only had a bath which was OK for us but could be annoying if you wanted a quick shower. No breakfast available but we were on holiday so went to the lobster pot at portland bill which has amazing views. Very good value as well.”
