I stayed two nights at this, what I would call a luxurious B&B. All aspects of the establishment are first class; excellent room, ensuite, comfortable bed, with all the amenities required. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Accommodation was extremely clean and tidy would not hesitate to stay here again and will recommend it to friends. The best B&B I have stayed in, deserves a 5 star rating!

I recently spent two nights at this lovely B&B. The owner Paul was extremely helpful when I was booking my stay & that continued when I arrived. Everything was spotless both in my room & the general areas. The bed was very comfortable & the hospitality tray had everything you would need, with the cold water flask topped up each day. Great choice for breakfast too, I chose to have a cooked breakfast, the standard of which was excellent. The garden is cared for by Paul’s wife Lisa, who again was very friendly. It was a very pretty place to sit & pass the time. I would highly recommend the Quiet Woman House & wish the owners well in their future endeavours.

Honestly the best place I have ever stayed! Just back from a 2 night ‘Winter Lie in’ break, staying in The Coop. Everything about the break was faultless, the surroundings are beautiful and the room, just wow!!! The attention to detail in all the decor is incredible, the room is stunning. The cart shed is lovely a great place to relax and unwind with incredible food. The Hay Barn cinema was lovely a great way to spend an evening and it was all the little extras that just make it perfect. I have saved the best until last… the staff are phenomenal! The customer care is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. What a team they have there, I will definitely be returning and cannot wait for our next stay.

A Magical Christmas Stay at The Outbuildings What an incredible stay my wife and I had with the Whiteheads hosting Christmas at The Outbuildings! We stayed in the Cider Room, which was absolutely perfect-complete with a huge hot tub and the most divine-smelling amenities. The space itself is wonderfully cozy and charming, and the food was amazing throughout our stay. The attention to detail brings this place to life. A special shoutout to Dom, the mixologist king, who made every cocktail an experience to remember! The entire team exudes such warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. We’re already counting down to 2025 when we plan to return, especially with the exciting addition of a treatment room on the horizon- it sounds like the perfect complement to this little slice of heaven. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a magical and restorative getaway.

I had the pleasure of returning to Outbuildings Dorset recently, and I can confidently say it was the most stunning stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were nothing short of exceptional—efficient, attentive, and warmly welcoming. Despite the bustling nature of the farm and the many guests they look after, our experience felt completely tailored to us. Everything ran seamlessly, thanks to the team’s remarkable coordination and dedication. What truly stood out was the thoughtful personal touch. It had been seven months since my previous stay, yet the staff remembered which room I had stayed in before and even asked how it compared to this visit. For a place that welcomes countless guests each week, that small but significant detail made me feel genuinely valued—not just another paying guest but someone they were invested in. It was such a lovely gesture and one that didn’t go unnoticed. No detail is ever spared with the team at Outbuildings Dorset. They are so knowledgeable and invested in ensuring every part of the stay is perfect. From the rooms to the grounds, every element is curated with care. This place is truly worth its weight in gold, and the service, staff, and overall beauty of the farm cannot be credited enough. I am already looking forward to my next stay!

A wonderful two night stay with family in the lull between Christmas & New Year. Relaxed, laid back and unpretentious. The Outbuildings is run to perfection & so personal with lovely small details. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully designed, the food excellent. Loved every minute and missing my outdoor bath and text for tipples!

My wife booked the chesil apartment in chesil beach lodge as a gift for me, we went with my 3 daughters and were very impressed with the location, and the size of the apartment. Theres an en suite bedroom with 2 single beds which my twin daughters stayed in and absolutely loved, my wife and I had the master bedroom which was also lovely, and the mattress was extremely comfortable. My eldest daughter had a pull out bed which she had in the living room so she could stay up late and watch the TV. Kitchen area was very good with a freezer and a large separate fridge. Outside the apartment is a decently off road parking area and next to that there is a gorgeous communal garden where you can relax and have a glass of wine. All in all I recommend this place very highly and in such a beautiful part of the uk to.

This is a wonderful place to stay near Sherborne. I stayed a night there and couldn't have asked for more from a B and B. Rupert and Camilla (and Nutmeg the dog) were charming, friendly and attentive to all my needs. The room was extremely comfortable and clean and the whole house peaceful and quiet. The garden deserves special mention; it has a beautiful expansive lawn which is lovely to look out over during breakfast. And the food was superb. I had the scrambled eggs with salmon which was perfect; not too heavy as cooked breakfasts can sometimes be. All in all a great experience - I can't recommend highly enough.

Wonderful stay for two nights. Have stayed here before and standards are high. Great hosts - welcoming, friendly and informative. Delicious breakfast to keep you going all day and a spacious and comfortable room; we stayed in the Red Room this time but have also stayed in the Blue Room which is a lovely room too. Rupert provides real milk for hot drinks in your room (better than long life milk portions usually provided) and can recommend places nearby to eat or places of interest to visit. Nutmeg the terrier will keep an eye on you. Overall a great place to stay, we hope to be back soon.

Greeted by the owner on arrival, who was incredibly welcoming. He was kind enough to make me a hot chocolate and let me sit in the garden and relax which was exactly what I needed. Warm and cosy room with an en-suite with an enormous walk in shower with great pressure. He made a recommendation for dinner and even made a reservation, which turned out to be lovely. I had to leave early the next day in which case he did an early full English breakfast. Highly recommend!

My partner and I spent three wonderful days at Summer Lodge to celebrate her special birthday. The staff were consistently courteous, professional and friendly: we were received with a special birthday tea and a lovely welcoming message from the managers. Our room was perfect, the meals were delicious, the grounds are delightful and the location is ideal for exploring the glorious Hardy Country (incidentally, Thomas Hardy was an architect who designed a wing of Summer Lodge). We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly return. Stephen Friar

Gorgeous lunch with truly delicious food. We shared lots of the starters - standouts were the potted crab & lobster with soda bread & the cod roe's pate with focaccia slices. Then mains were all tasty but not as exciting as starters. To finish the treacle tart was one of the best I have ever tasted. The waiter was great and the gorgeous weather and view made it a perfect long lunch on Saturday. Would recommend to anyone who wants super fresh & local seafood and produce.

Went for Sunday lunch as they do a great offer of 2 courses for £25 or 3 for £30. There was a good selection of starters, mains, and deserts we decided to have the three courses. The starter I had was 3 chicken wings, which were best eaten by hand. These were so hot that they nearly burned your fingers. The main I had was roast beef, which was not very pink, and the plate was cold, including the veg. I also thought the potatoes were slightly underdone. But overall, I did enjoy the meal. Two of our party did ask for theirs to be reheated, but fresh hot food came out shortly after. I wished I had done the same, but as I was so hungry, I had eaten most of the meat and some of the vegetables and felt either inappropriate to ask for a fresh warm roast and would have been to full for my desert. The desert made up for the main as it was hot and gorgeous and probably one of the best apple tarts I have ever had. Overall, this is a very good place to have lunch, and nothing is too much trouble, and the staff are most attentive.
