Absolutely perfect spot for a late lunch, or pre pub grub. Quick service, great choice of toppings (and vegan options). There's a covered/heated outdoor dining area, and the choices of beer/soft drinks is also impressive.

The Burger Box

Wow what a burger! The place is a lovely funky modern place, on industrial estate so easy parking outside. I got to have a cider, burger, and fries. Not the cheapest but well worth it! They clearly have great meat supplier patties were great!

A little hard to find but so worth it. The staff is amazing and even though the burger could look small so filling, flavourful and perfect. Will become a more regular spot for my husband and I. The halloumi fries is also a must have. We both had the truffle shuffle burger with normal and sweet potatoes fries and halloumi fries. Just wish it was slightly cheaper so we can come every week but I know that is just the price of inflation.

Ordered takeaway on Saturday. Atmosphere on collection was busy, food was delicious and hot, portion size was generous. We ordered the OG burger and a gluten free bun was available and catered for well. Only criticism is we had to a wait a bit longer than agreed pickup time, but for such a new business still finding their feet on their first Saturday night, I could understand, so it didn’t reflect the review. If you want tasty burgers with some great choices, look no further.

Had the truffle burger, sweet potato fries and halloumi fries. Sweet potato fries were kinda caramelised and so good. Halloumi was soft and flavourful. Though the burger looked small compared to other places it absolutely hits the spot. Juicy and flavourful. The sauce literally bleeds out with each bite. Staff are welcoming and friendly. It's a little out the way and very hidden. Defo a hidden gem. Definitely looking to make it a regular stop.

My husband pre- ordered, which was very easy , the food was ready when we collected. The burgers and chips were all nice and the ingredients fresh. I do think they are a lot of money for burger and chips , so this would not be something we had very often.

Woodland Views

Rating: 4.9 (29) Price Level:

Warm, welcoming and woodland views. Our room was large clean and well appointed. The bathroom was a joy. Everything was so easy and we had a lovely glass of wine on arrival - what a welcome! The place was stylish yet friendly, we were made to feel like guests of honour. Looking for an excuse to go again! Also the local pub provided us with an outstanding meal. Boom!

We had a lovely stay in woodland views. The hosts Aliya and John were so kind and accommodating, particularly as we came with our baby. They really helped us to feel at home. The room was large, with comfortable chairs to relax in and a clean modern bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and crisp fresh linen. We loved the little patio outside our room and the hosts were kind enough to let us interact with their super friendly dogs and cats (but normally keep them separate so no need to be worried if you don't like animals!). Breakfast was hearty and there were lots of nice little touches like chocolates in the room with the coffee cups. Thanks so much for a relaxing stay!

This Deceptive BNB quite and unassuming was a delight to stay, genuinely friendly hostess and engaging host. Quality breakfast in a country calm environment. Our room was very light and comfortable with superb amenities. The woodland view from our room was far better than any photo. Recommended.

Went to stay with my wife for a long weekend. A welcoming and comfortable bed and breakfast with lovely views of the forest from the patio outside our room. Aliya, who runs it, is a fantastic cook and we both thoroughly enjoyed our 'Full Englishes'. The room was large, clean and very well equipped with superb attention to detail. The area around Woodland Views is also ideal for those looking for a scenic walk, a touch of history or a traditional pub meal! Highly recommended!

On the way to Charmouth for a weeks break and not having had breakfast my co-pilot noticed ooh my baps! It was safe to slow and turn so we did. Two freshly cooked bacon and cheeseburgers really hit the spot. Preferring to support local businesses this place will be added to my list of places to stop. The bun was extremely fresh, and overall, probably the tastiest drive-by burger we have ever had. If you’re heading this way stop by for a break, you will be pleased you did. Also serves tea/coffee and other delectables.

We normally stop elsewhere but it was closed on our way out fossil hunting. Saw this place and thought why not try it.. so glad we did. The chap serving was very friendly and food was served fairly quickly.. the one great thing is the name of the place. Cos it's so true. Often at roadside places I find the rolls baps are either stale or dry. But not here. They were soft and amazing. We shall be stopping there everytime we pass from now on !!!! I highly recommend this place if u like this type of food

I'm from Australia and visited with local friends when passing through this part of England. I believe the restaurant is relatively new but it didn't matter as the service was first right and the food and beverage offerings were really impressive. A wide range of offerings on the menu and you won't be disappointed if you come here after authentic delicious Italian food.

Highly recommend a visit here. Wonderful restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Staff are polite, professional and helpful. Food is absolutely gorgeous. Rich opulent flavours that deliver absolute joy on a plate. Fantastic place if you're on your own, having a date or meeting up with a friend or group to celebrate a special occasion. I always check out the toilets in restaurants because it says a lot about the hygiene of the place. I found them to be clean and tidy. I will be visiting again for some truly unforgettable pasta! Thanks team La Vita.

The most delicious dinner with a friendly and welcoming service! We came here this evening with our two friends all the way from Kathmandu who were very much missing Nepalese Daal baat and delicious Nepalese food. Good restaurant to support the locals. Building is simple and characteristic, although needs some updating. Staff are still young so don't expect world class service, but good effort nonetheless. Food is great, reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Plenty of vegetation options as well.

First visit to the area and saw the previous reviews for this restaurant which were positive. We were not disappointed. Lovely food and good service. Tried the dumplings as a starter (rather than my usual choice of onion bhaji) and they were delicious.

What a fantastic evening at The Three King's last night! The food was amazing, freshly cooked to order, succulent meat, char grilled veg and a banging home made hot sauce. The Giant Inn

24 Long St, Cerne Abbas, Dorchester DT2 7JF, UK | Pub
P: 01300 341441

Rating: 4.7 (283) Price Level:

We visited on a weekday. We chose this pub over others in the village because of the reviews and because the food looked good value. There was one bartender on quite a busy lunchtime. She was good humored and efficient, taking drink and food orders, and delivering the food to the tables. We ordered our food and took drinks out to the garden at the back. Our food soon arrived despite being warned it might be a time. Simple fare, but generous portions. I ordered ham, egg and chips. The ham was delicious, three thick slices cut from a ham leg. Not the normal plastic ham in a prepacked plastic container. My partner had Nachos with a vegetarian chili. She enjoyed it. After lunch we walked around the village and came back for another pint before leaving on the bus. Good collection of beers including a local beer brewed in the village The pub has music events as well.
