“It's rare to find places that are a 5 star rating across the broad, but this is certainly one such place! The food was incredible - the starter was perfect, and the steak..... easily some of the best I have ever eaten! Cooked to perfection, and everything from the sauce to the mushrooms simply complemented it so well. We visited at lunch time, so had the place alsmot to ourselves, but I am sure that the service will be utmost during busy periods - and this place it popular! So you accept that during busy times there might be a bit more of a wait. Atmosphere was great - a lovely clean, modern and upbeat restaurant, and Jerry was a pleasure to chat to as well; clearly he values his customers and the amazing business he has built up in the area. We won't hesitate to recommend this steakhouse to friends and family alike, and look forward to coming back! It's a shame Google won't remove the obviously false 1 star review from someone who cannot accept that it's the Business that controls the opening times and not what Google lists (they're not in real time love!). So for anyone looking to go here, pay attention to the reviews that truly reflect what you will experience.”

“My god, this is a find. My husband loved the breakfast wrap and I had the biggest most tasty salad ever, you basically pick from a list to make your perfect salad. It's in an odd place, in an industrial estate, but once you're inside, the atmosphere and layout makes you feel you're in a farm shop. Gentle music, comfy well spaced tables. We will definitely make this a regular visit and add it to our "places" for lunch or coffee and cake.”

“This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The fish platter had a most interesting selection of fish and was beautifully presented . The service was most friendly and courteous. Our only negative comment was that the garden , where we ate, could have been tidied up with some more colourful bushes.”

“What a little gem of a pub!! Sadly no photos, but I can attest to the food being fabulous. I loved the creativity of the chef. Incredible scotch eggs, and his quirky Indian chocolate orange with a curry anglaise - whilst it sounds wrong on paper - was one of the best things I’ve had in yonks!!! Great local pub with cosmopolitan content. We loved it! 😍”

“The pub itself is a historic building, beautiful area and fantastic food and drink. Some might say it's expensive, but when you learn where the ingredients come from and the owners care and devotion it's a whole experience. I can't comment on the rooms as I've never used them.”

“The pubs staff were friendly and funny, not just robots and also not too cheeky it becomes weird. The portions were the size youd give yourself at a buffet. The price was fine. And the menu had a decent selection. I had the pie and it almost had more stake than my girlfriends ribeye. Highly recommend.”

“Visited here twice for food whilst on our stay and we were certainly not disappointed at all. As you can see from our photos from our evening meals they were delicious, they were presented well and they tasted fantastic. Well worth the money we paid and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It's also dog friendly and our dog loved it as well. Do not miss out when visiting Stourpaine.”

“We meet with friends on Sunday for lunch, and all went for the burgers. These were as per our other visits, amazing. We did see a few roasts go out, and questioned our choice, as these looked incredible. The staff were friendly and provided some really good banter, to make it a great atmosphere. At the end, the Landlord place a huge plate of the lovely Yorkshire pubs on the bar for anyone that wanted one for free. Our friends were extremely impressed and will most certainly be going back.”

The rooms are tastefully decorated, very clean and very comfortable beds. Room have tea and coffee facilities with home made biscuits and water included. The food is excellent! A great menu and wine list. The bar area has a lovely atmosphere with friendly locals. Breakfast is also excellent. Looking to book my next two visits already! Thanks for a great stay!”
