We stopped in while visiting from America. I would consider the White House to be an upscale pub. The ambience is great! Lots of stone and heavy wooden beams. There were lots of locals there when we were there which is always a good sign. The staff was wonderful! The food was truly excellent! Every starter and entree was done to perfection! If we lived in the area we would be here often!

Cracking little village pub, we popped in for a few drinks with friends and had a great time, we sat in the garden in the sun and it was extremely pleasant. Will be going back for some food in the future.

Wonderful birthday dinner. Lamb Scrumpit, Tuna Carpaccio, Pork Belly, Dorset Crab Linguine, Tiramisu (a little heavy for my preference, but still delicious) and Cheese and crackers. We’ll be back!

I have been all over the world and have stayed and dined at numerous hotels. Since 1991 I have stayed several times, every year, at Plumber Manor and I can in all honesty say that I have nowhere felt as comfortable and at home as in that wonderful little Country Hotel tucked away in lovely Dorset. Also the food and wine list are superb and the fact that Plumber Manor was elected best Hotel in Southern England in 2024 is totally justifiable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night at Plumber Manor. The staff were without exception helpful, friendly and efficient. We had a beautifully cooked dinner and the breakfast was first-rate. The hotel is in a quiet location and the grounds are kept very well with attractive topiary and well-planted borders. We would definitely return another time.

We have stayed here three times since 1980. Still in the same expert ownership. Beautiful country manor house. Well maintained in a discreet style. Fabulous food, interesting wine list with a range of half bottles too. Good value for Londoners!!! Friendly relaxed service. Welcoming sitting room with open fire. Make a special journey to visit if you can.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and delicious dining experience at the Clockspire Restaurant this evening. Food was excellent along with the service. The old school building has been beautifully restored and creates a delightful surrounding and atmosphere, complimenting the whole experience. This has just become my favorite restaurant. We shall return.

Oh my! ♥ What a magical experience visiting The Clockspire was. Where do I begin to describe the care and detail oozing from both the staff and the food, it truly is clear to see, even the toilet hand towels were folded beautifully! We decided to opt for an expensive treat due to a special birthday, but the restaurant also offers a very affordable day menu, so I would recommend for both a stunning meal out and for celebrating occasions.

We were in the area and stopped by this lovely vineyard restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious, the sparkling wine was lovely and the service was friendly. The food was tapas style. My favourites were the croquettes (we tried ham and crab) as well as the tomato and mozzarella salad. Highly recommend.

I can't thank the team at Breezy Ridge enough for all their efforts to make a Maid of Honour proposal go smoothly! Becky's communications were fab prior to the evening and everyone was on board to make sure the dinner went ahead without a hitch. The food is fantastic and the place is a real asset to the local area, there aren't many places like this around without having to travel quite far out. The team are super friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is gorgeous, beautifully decorated and wonderfully intimate. I can't wait to come back!

The restaurant was busy with a great atmosphere and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Our waitress was brilliant and very patient with us as we tried to decide what to order. The manager was also very friendly, chatting to everyone and making sure we were all enjoying our meal. We will definitely be back.

The food was amazing here with a good choice of tapas. There were a good variety of gluten free options on the menu. The service was a little slow, but they had a huge party of people to deal with and kept us informed. Lovely choice of cocktails and mocktails, too.

Absolutely delicious food. The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only downside was the flies (present because the doors were open as it was a warm day) - it can't really be helped but it detracted from the enjoyment of an otherwise excellent meal.

Visited today as the Westwood Cross Toby Carvery was very busy and we're so pleased that we did, marvelous two meat roast, turkey/beef, plenty of fresh vegetables, decent Yorkshire. The young staff team was very good and service was prompt. We will visit again and recommend it to everyone, we may not return to Toby for a while.

A great find today in the middle of a long car journey with the dog. We ordered the chicken supreme off the specials board and it was hands down the best meal we’ve had in a restaurant in a long while. Succulent chicken, delicious creamy sauce, crisp broccoli, and perfectly sautéed cherry tomatoes on (cooked twice?) roasted new potatoes ( I think 🤔) 😋 Worth every penny ✌🏼😎 Thanks

Desserts of crumble, Sundaes and waffles were also of a high standard. Staff were lovely and chatty and had a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend a visit and hope to be back in the area soon to visit again!

Fascinating personal tour by the current Miller. Very knowledgeable and interesting areas pointed out. Saw markings left to ward off witches and evil spirits, beams from the 1400's and the miller's workshop with all the tools etc left by previous millers over the centuries, including an horseshoe dated to the 1300's.

I used to pass this Mill every week day when I was a HGV driver, as I delivered in the area. Never had chance to photograph it so went here with my camera. Really enjoyed it and grabbed some great shots of the mill, weir and the foot bridges and the road bridge. I did not go into the mill but met a lovely lady who posed for me beside the weir

It was a little muddy when we were there so we didn't do too much exploring. The river looks spectacular coming over the weir, especially if you go out on one of the bridges.

My partner had a guided tour with a group of about 6 people. The tour cost £5 each and lasted about an hour and a half. He said it didn't seem that long, as was very interesting. Unfortunately I couldn't join the tour, as I had my Assistance Dog with me and there are steep stairs to navigate. But the lady was very kind and showed me an interactive tour on a tablet and talked to me about the mill. Was surprised to find a small gift shop online, too. Cost £5 each to go in - great value! Great place for photo opportunities. Check days/times of opening.

During these Covid times, this has been very worrying for a shielder, but this pub has done everything great, we were sat outside under a marquee and I thought I’d be cold, but a gas heater was out by us, which was very warm and lovely, we had a drink and food, which all was delicious, it was so nice and warm, I was able to take my chunky cardigan off, due to being nice and toastie. The service was great, very polite and friendly, there is an outside bar and the beers were on tap, they do Earl Grey Tea, which I don’t like, so I had water, the good was presented well and was really nice, the atmosphere was great to, not many people and we all had our own table, I was able to be calm and not worry at all. It’s definitely a nice pub and the dogs made it for me, being a dog lover, very friendly and enjoyed a good cuddle.

Brilliant pub with a great range of drinks, unfortunately on our last visit there was not enough staff behind the bar and possibly due to this they could not switch lighting on outside. As a group of 6 there was nowhere to sit inside which meant we didn't stay as long as we had planned. We look forward to visiting again in the future as the atmosphere is the best in town.
