We had a pleasant meal here, on a lovely day outside. The soufflé was delicious, although we would've preferred homemade chips. Minor thing really. Would recommend stopping.

Fantastic Saturday lunch in Dorset. Excellent food ( Goats cheese soufflé and beef with horseradish mash ) good red wine and a divine panacotta with hand made turkish delight... bookings a must, very recommended.

Ok, it's great tasting food for sure, but can get a bit noisy when busy due to the wooden decorated design inside. But it gets busy because it's good. Always best to book. Cater for parties.

This is the place to go for something different. The place is light and airy with plenty of space between the tables. The service is excellent. The menu gives you the opportunity to try something different. I really recommend this as a place to go and try.

Oh my! ♥ What a magical experience visiting The Clockspire was. Where do I begin to describe the care and detail oozing from both the staff and the food, it truly is clear to see, even the toilet hand towels were folded beautifully! We decided to opt for an expensive treat due to a special birthday, but the restaurant also offers a very affordable day menu, so I would recommend for both a stunning meal out and for celebrating occasions.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and delicious dining experience at the Clockspire Restaurant this evening. Food was excellent along with the service. The old school building has been beautifully restored and creates a delightful surrounding and atmosphere, complimenting the whole experience. This has just become my favorite restaurant. We shall return.

Susan’s Oriental Kitchen

Rating: 4.9 (126) Price Level:

Went with a friend on a Friday night. It was tough choosing which appetisers to go for as they all sounded so good. The pork belly was mouth-watering, and the calamari was delicious. The fried chicken was some of the best I've had, better than Jollibee. We went for the spicy option, and it was hot. My main was the Bistek Tagalog, and that was great as well. My friend had lechon kawali, and he loved it. Finished with a halo-halo, my first ever one, and it was a delight. We had great service, and all the team were friendly. I look forward to going again and trying more things.

what a delightful birthday treat at this hidden gem of a filipino restaurant! from the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in the warmth of filipino hospitality. the soft lighting and cheerful chatter created such a cosy atmosphere, it felt like being welcomed into a family home. the real magic happened when we chatted with our lovely server about my birthday. to our surprise and delight, they offered to prepare two special dishes not on the menu - dinuguan and pork sinigang. these off-menu treasures truly made the evening unforgettable. the dinuguan was rich and savoury, a comforting bowl that felt like a warm hug. and oh, the pork sinigang! its perfect balance of sour and savoury flavours danced on our taste buds. it was clear that every dish was crafted with love and generations of culinary wisdom. we left with full bellies and even fuller hearts. this restaurant doesn't just serve food; it serves up a slice of filipino culture and hospitality. what a perfect way to celebrate my birthday - surrounded by the aromas, flavours, and warmth of my mother's birthplace. we'll be back soon, craving not just the food, but the wonderful, homey experience.

Me and my wife visited on a Sunday evening with a friend and went for the Bilao 2 sharing platter, with some prawn crackers and BBQ Pork Belly as a starter. It comes with plenty of food to feed 4 as advertised (we struggled as 3 but it was so delicious we managed it!) Particularly loved the crispy fried chicken and the Milkfish. It was amazing value too, for 3 of us it worked out about £20 each to be stuffed full of delicious food! The service was a little slow despite us being the only ones in the restaurant but the food was so amazing that it would bring me back in an instant if I'm ever in the area again. My first time eating Filipino food and what a case Susan made for it!

I stayed two nights at this, what I would call a luxurious B&B. All aspects of the establishment are first class; excellent room, ensuite, comfortable bed, with all the amenities required. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Accommodation was extremely clean and tidy would not hesitate to stay here again and will recommend it to friends. The best B&B I have stayed in, deserves a 5 star rating!

I recently spent two nights at this lovely B&B. The owner Paul was extremely helpful when I was booking my stay & that continued when I arrived. Everything was spotless both in my room & the general areas. The bed was very comfortable & the hospitality tray had everything you would need, with the cold water flask topped up each day. Great choice for breakfast too, I chose to have a cooked breakfast, the standard of which was excellent. The garden is cared for by Paul’s wife Lisa, who again was very friendly. It was a very pretty place to sit & pass the time. I would highly recommend the Quiet Woman House & wish the owners well in their future endeavours.

The staff were very attentive , accommodating ( we have 2 toddlers) , and friendly we could not fault it . Im glad we booked as they called back to say we left a changing bag , where would we be without that!! We shared the platter for 2 and the food was insane! i could have had a whole bowl of the pork with that dirty mash it was sooo good. If youre staying anywhere within 15 miles of this place its def worth the trip if youre a foodie.

HOLM Somerset

28 St James's St, South Petherton TA13 5BW, UK | Restaurant
P: 01460 712470

Rating: 4.8 (192) Price Level:

Just back from a great weekend away at HOLM in South Petherton. This is your quintessential trendy restaurant with stylish rooms in rural idyll type place. The food in the restaurant is good. It’s taster menu only - an experience - and as you would expect of this kind of foodie place, the dishes are rich and experimental. We didn’t love all of them but the potato soup with ragout and the duck main were very very good. The rooms are stylish and minimalist and perfectly comfortable. The staff are attentive and friendly. The surrounding village and wider area really is a beautiful part of the world. If you are looking for a romantic getaway with a partner or group of friends I’d thoroughly recommend HOLM.

Holm was a great experience! The hotel is very nice and the staff are lovely. The food is superb and served in portions one can enjoy without having to miss dessert (due to over-eating). It’s an experience, and I for one want to go back again - soon! One thing to note is that there’s no hotel parking, due to its location, but there’s a nearby free car park.

We visited after reading good reviews, and came away really impressed. The town is small but a bit of a hidden gem, and this place is a fantastic addition. We did a Sunday lunch and the food was excellent, really nice touches in all the dishes - elevated but not overly fancy. Service was very friendly, and the dining area was roomier than expected (not trying to squeeze people in which I hate) and had a buzzy atmosphere. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

This was such a special evening. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Sean. The room was beautiful and so comfortable. The meal was spectacular. We had the tasting menu and it was delicious. I loved the pasta dish and the torched mackerel but every dish and every mouthful was perfect. The restaurant was beautiful and there was a great atmosphere. The service was spot on. So attentive but not stuffy. Annie looked after us so well and she was so friendly and informative. The breakfast the next morning was also next level. Such a special stay and we can’t wait to return.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and while the main bar isn't that large, it never felt too small. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, making me feel welcome during my stay. The food was very well presented and with good portion sizes for the meals. It didn't take very long to make either, leaving time enough for a pint after ordering before getting my meal.
