New landlady and new chef. Great value steak night on Thursdays, food was lush
Rating: 5 / 5
The atmosphere was very relaxed and while the main bar isn't that large, it never felt too small. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, making me feel welcome during my stay. The food was very well presented and with good portion sizes for the meals. It didn't take very long to make either, leaving time enough for a pint after ordering before getting my meal. Definitely would go back, and would definitely recommend.

We played skittles there, a very nice friendly village pub. Not sure about their general food menu, but both teams received an excellent post-match chilli-con-carne & chips etc.. đź‘Ťđź‘Ź

Super little quiet campsite behind a lovely country pub. Staff were great, welcome was warm, facilities were good. And we had a very nice meal in the pub on our second night. Recommended!

Stopped for lunch after doing a search for pub type eateries near out of town Yeovil and come up with the Masons Arms. Greeted very politely as we had arrived before 12:00, served with two beautiful tasting coffees before ordering lunch, two small meals, ham egg and fries plus home made fish cakes and salad dressing followed by apple and raisin crumble that was beautiful. Both my wife and I left the Masons Arms well fed and full. If we are in Yeovil or near in the future we will definitely visit again.

Traveling around the country with relatives from Australia and found this great British country pub. Good beer selection, great food and excellent service from the wonderful staff. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Definitely a place worthy of a second visit.

I stayed at their small campsite behind the pub in my motorhome. A very peaceful location with good amenities. The food was great too, moderately priced. The staff were a helpful and friendly bunch. If you have a long motorhome (mines 7 metres) Give them a call and they'll help you through the entrance, it's tight. Especially if you're solo like myself. I brought my dog who was most welcomed.

Stayed for a couple of nights on way back from picking up our vintage vw camper. Really relaxed experience and surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic villages. We ate some lovely food in the pub and drank local beers and ciders (Rosie’s Pig cider). I believe they also have a microbrewery as well. Will definitely recommend and will return to this historic pub near Yeovil.

Rating for food only / bar service only. Always been good since I have been here. This evening I went with my 3 year old as she wanted whitebait, and she loved them, gobbled up the whole plate. I had a Pizza and it was yum. Staff were nice and got us sorted promptly which was nice for keeping the trip fairly short with a little one.

Our overnight stay to attend a 90th birthday party was very pleasant. Our room was very comfortable with a lot of character. Our evening drink in the pub area was relaxed with a warm atmosphere. We enjoyed our well cooked breakfast and chats with the staff.
Rating: 4 / 5
Good pub grub! Was a group of 8 of us and everyone was served at the same time which was very good. Very attentive waiting staff. Only criticism is in my opinion too hot, the wood burner was chucking out some serious heat however overall good.

Patrick and Claire are the perfect hosts. We booked a room which was very comfortable and had all we needed for a relaxing evening and good night’s sleep. Dining was superb - dinner and breakfast were cooked to perfection. There’s also a beautiful garden to sit in and have a drink with friends or alone with a good book. We spent our evening sitting in big comfy couches in an upper room with our very dear friends and our beverages of choice. Thank you Patrick and Claire for a most remarkable and memorable stay.

Rating: 4.7 (481) Price Level:
This was our first time at Castello's and we were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious food and great service. Plenty of dishes on the menu to choose from and not too expensive either. If you are looking for great food and atmosphere, with great service, go to Castello's. This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Yeovil!
Rating: 5 / 5
This place is by far the best Italian in Yeovil. A friendly welcome when we arrived and when led to our table you could see how clean the restaurant was, lovely decor. A wide selection of dishes on the menu and Peroni on tap. Food was fantastic and well presented, we all had starters and mains and were pleasantly full. The facilities were very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Defenatily will be returning.
Rating: 5 / 5
Good menu choices. Clear what is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Competitive pricing. Clean and organised. Attentive staff. Pizza, calzone and risotto good, and mozzarella garlic bread. Tried cocktails, very good and Rose wine. Family friendly. Accessible street entrance. Good space inside. Local parking but no car park with restaurant but it is fairly central.

Went for our staff Christmas meal. It was extremely busy but food and service were still excellent. Highly recommend.

We had such a lovely time. The staff are really friendly and pay attention to detail. They figured out it was my daughter’s birthday and wrote happy birthday in chocolate sauce on her dessert. Yes it’s a bit more expensive than the average, but if you’re looking for something a bit special with fantastic food then I would recommend 👍

Had the Sunday roast we went with our dissabled child who was not happy at times , but the staff went out of their way to help by letting us have a quiet spot so we could enjoy our meal without disturbing other diners. And the food was very good also . I'm sure we will be back .

The Fox Inn
Corscombe, Dorchester DT2 0NS, UK | Pub P: 01935 310790
Rating: 4.6 (272) Price Level:
Lovely hospitable pub, staff/owner very friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely lovely! Understandably quiet for a mid-week evening but perfect for the first night of our holiday. Only slight down side was quite a few little annoying fruit flies around the place, seemingly wherever we sat we couldn’t get away from them! Staff very apologetic though & explained that they’d only appeared in the last couple of days.
Rating: 5 / 5
It was our first time dining at The Fox Inn. The grade II listed pub that greeted us was a fantastic start. The Oyster I sampled was excellent. The Sunday Roast was the best roast I have ever had. The potatoes were amazing as was the beef and pork. The team were very accommodating with our 4 year old daughter. Being from London meant the prices were on a par with pubs that offer average at best roast dinner’s. Would highly recommend. Only minor feedback would be to make the dishes holding the vegetables warmer other than that it was flawless.
Rating: 5 / 5
The Fox Inn is hugely popular with the locals and is a quality, idyllic, thatched roof pub with a historically top reputation for all the points that matter.. including open fire in winter and antique taxidermy! Quaint and tidy with different pleasant spots to sit and gather. Conservatory is popular for meals. Outdoor picnic tables under trees, by the stream are inviting on sunny days. If it turns chilly, Throws are available and Games too. Dog friendly for friendly dogs and there's even a jar of pet treats available. Brews rotate covering local beers/ales and ciders. Choice of spirits including the locally conceived Black Cow vodka. Lovage liquor (Shhhh) is a sacred favourite with a few locals but currently sourcing is an issue. Meals have been good .. prices all over the country, if not the world, have jumped and it's now circa £20 for a meal. Roast on weekends. Music on Sundays. Closed Mondays. Plenty of parking out front & rear. A place like this needs a jovial and engaging publican at the helm and they have it in Graham. This place and it's people will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤️.

I really want to say how thankful and grateful I am to Steve and his team for hosting my father's wake after his funeral. Steve took all the stress away and provided a superb buffet to cater for our family and friends. Many commented how lovely the food was. He listened to what we wanted for the function room, everything was ready when we arrived, and we were able to give my dad a wonderful send off without any worries, we will never forget the service you gave, thank you ♥️

Held a funeral wake and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful home cooked food which everyone complemented. Bar staff were friendly and the new manager has completely transformed this beautiful homely establishment. Thanks for making a very hard time so streamlined and easy would definitely be recommending to others.

We stayed at a family room at the Halfway House inn country lodge. The room itself was massive, with stunning views, plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed a warm welcome from all, and enjoyed a fantastic meal on our first night. There was a wide selection of exotic dishes as well as regular pub favourites. We have already planned on stopping again next year!

We were very impressed with the service and the friendly atmosphere. Their is parking available, out door seating and tables, inside is well set up and has wheelchair accessible entrance and accessable throughout. We had food, I started with the BBQ ribs and my partner has the duck pate which started us off nicely. We both had the carvery and it so hit the spot, we had been well fed. They also have a skittle ally and comfortable seating. It's well lit and has free wi-fi. All our food was served in good time and we were looked after. We will be going back for more :-)

Called in on our way home for an evening meal. Quiet night for them but the food and service was excellent. Enjoyed the food that much, forgot to take a photo of the main, but the empty plate says it all!
