We visited during the last Wareham Wednesday event and despite being very busy we had a lovely meal from a friendly team. It was Steak night and my Wife and I had a rump steak and steak burger. Both were cooked as we asked and very tasty. Excellent value all round and we'll be back.

Very friendly pub in Wareham. Cosy little beer garden and Guinness zero available and dog friendly. What's not to like?

We were recommended to eat lunch here at The Duke of Wellington by one of the locals we met in the street. Great value, piping hot food, served promptly and with a friendly smile! Thank you especially to Susie who made my mum and dad feel very welcome. The ham, egg and chips were really tasty as was the scampi. Lagers and beer were also great! We all really enjoyed our delicious food and a nice window seat. We will definitely visit again and recommend this super pub!

Local bakery that sells delectable food with Cornish pasties and red velvet muffins being most notable for being the best I've eaten for a long time! Not forgetting the friendly and jolly staff! This bakery is by far better than any Greggs store.

The Weld Arms

East Lulworth, Wareham BH20 5QQ, UK | Pub
P: 01929 400211

Rating: 4.6 (341) Price Level:

Lovely evening meal with my 2 friends. I liked the menu as it had enough choice without being too extensive, plus the specials added enough variety. I had the venison steak (from the specials) which was tender and delicious, with a good portion of chips, tomato, and onions. Nice friendly service. I marked down the atmosphere as we had a loud table next to us - but it did not detract from the overall experience. My friends also enjoyed their meals of vegan burger and lamb rump.

What a lovely place! I visited today with four others after a walk round the Sculptures at the Lake nearby. It's a real old fashioned English pub. Delicious local beer, fabulous bacon and brie open sandwich, and the man on duty who was rushed off his feet (due to circumstances he explained) and working on his own, still served us efficiently and with good grace. Definitely recommend.

Went in for a (very) late lunch this afternoon. Was very quiet (only us and one other guest) but lovely to get out of the rain and had a good chat with the other guest and staff. Ordered the Venison Burger and the Maple Bacon & Brie sandwich, and can't fault either - super tasty and good portion sizes to boot! Had a beer recommendation from the staff which was lovely, and would highly recommend a visit if you're in Lulworth looking for a lunch or dinner location 🙂👍

It was a Bank Holiday Sunday and it was not busy and the Front of House staff did not have a clue what day of the week it was. We where a party of 4 and that could not decide were to seat us, so they decided to put us on a table set 3 and never brought other set of cutlery until the meal came out after asking several times, we found a dirty fork on the floor under the table. It was not clear if it was table service or we order the food at the bar, we ordered at the bar after no one coming over after 15 min. They never brought out any condiments even though we asked twice. I must admit the service was shocking which is a shame as the food/meal was outstanding.

a really good Italian restaurant! Me and my girlfriend went out eating tonight and had a great time. The team and the food was amazing I recommend it to anyone it’s a better alternative than the old granary or the quay INN in my opinion! Also recommend to book a table instead of just walking in in the evening

The Italian Kitchen is the perfect spot to dine and unwind. They serve stunning, high-quality food at great prices. The service is impeccable—every staff member is helpful, attentive, and genuinely happy to assist. We’ve loved every meal we’ve ever had there. They even serve homemade bread while you wait for your starter or main course, which is a lovely touch. Whether it’s for a date night or a corporate works meal, The Italian Kitchen never disappoints. The quality has never faltered or wavered—it’s truly the best Italian restaurant we’ve ever experienced. We highly recommend a visit! Would recommend the squid starter, spicy nduja pizza's and the creamy tuscan chicken are some of our personal favourites!

This Indian-Nepalese restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu is a perfect blend of traditional Indian and Nepali flavors, offering a delightful variety of dishes to satisfy any palate. The *butter chicken* was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the *momos* (Nepalese dumplings) were simply out of this world – tender, flavorful, and served with a deliciously tangy dipping sauce. The spices were just right, balancing heat and flavor without overpowering the dish. The service was impeccable, with the staff going out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new with a Nepali twist, this place is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more of their incredible offerings. Highly recommended

Let’s face it, Lulworth cove is the main reason that gazillions of people come to this part of our lovely world, but in my honest opinion, the Lulworth Lodge, and its amazing staff, for us anyway, is the main reason for us to return. Flossie (front of house) is an absolute gem. Thoroughly knowledgeable about the entire menu, and absolutely charming too. And then the food…we had the Dorset crab rarebit between us to start, and it was by far the absolute best crab dish I have ever had! The flavour combinations and textures were truly sublime, using a small amount of pickled shallots to finish was an unexpected, but perfect addition, to cut through just enough, to leave a complete umami sensation that lasted. Amazing. We both chose the seafood linguine, and we both arrived at the same exact moment (like a couple of Japanese trains…) with the conclusion that this dish was absolutely perfect. Adding anything to the dish would have over-complicated it, and missing any ingredient would lessen the overall experience. The balance was spot on! We both fed-back how amazing we found the food, only to find that the chef Josh, started in the kitchen at the age of 16, and is only in his early twenties! A round of applause for this guy, as he was clearly thought well, but more importantly, he paid attention!! Just to finish, we had a special meringue to share, which was created by Drew. And fair play, it kept the standard flying high. Seriously, if we lived closer (we’re in Nottingham) we’d dine here as often as we could afford! Bravo team! We’ll be back, just for you guys!

Lovely place to stay, the rooms are situated in a very quaint building above a small shop. The room was up a steep staircase so not suitable if you are unable to climb stairs. But the view from the room was lovely, the room itself was small but clean and tidy with tea making facilities. The pub itself was lovely with very friendly staff who were happy to help in any way, the food both in the evening band at breakfast was great. Thank you to all

It was very busy so definitely book ahead but even with a full restaurant we had wonderful service, all of the team were smiling and clearly happy to work there. The wait for food was not too long and it was hot and served quickly, great menu with something for everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. If you're looking for a cozy pub that delivers on all fronts, this is the place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. The Sunday roast here is absolutely top-notch. The portions are generous, and the quality is superb. What really sets this pub apart, though, is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. They’re attentive without being intrusive and always make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Karli served us today and Hebe greeted us. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hearty Sunday roast in a charming, welcoming setting!

We’ve just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at The Smugglers Inn. On arrival, Lloyd greeted us and made us feel welcome instantly - before any money had even exchanged hands he made sure we were ‘fed and watered’ after our long drive. Nothing was too much effort for any of the staff…. Special mentions to Rafaela our waitress,Ella, and the bar-staff who really looked after us. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, great menu in general and a great breakfast spread! The room was spotless, cozy and well-equipped. It was my partners birthday and they went out of their way to make it special for him. We would definitely recommend staying here and we have already talked about returning one day. Thanks again to ALL the staff for making our stay so special. Sam and Phil

Our experience at the Old Granary left us with mixed emotions and sadly we won't return. this was our third lunch here and we were excited to bring a good friend with us. We are not local to the area and had not vistied on a Saturday before. On our arrival we were surprised to find that the parking area was filled with a market and we had no idea where we could park. We pulled over and our guest popped in to enquire as to where we could find parking. He was met by a frosty unhelpful lady who shrugged and said she didn't know, and by her attitutude she didn't care either. Fortunately when stopping the gentleman also assiting at front of house, some directions to parking were proferred. The first impression for our guest though was not what we had hoped for. Our table was in a loud and busy area, which would have made it impossible for conversation, something to note when making your booking. Fortunately, and a plus on the service experience, we were able to be seated in a quieter area. The Old Granary is an attractively detailed pub and we liked the decor. Issey, our server was fabulous. Great smile, engaging and she rescued the lunch on the whole. Food wise, we had the Larder sharing platter which was well presented and tasty, classic fish and chips, the chicken and bacon pie, and the sirloin. The sirloin was not the best and quite pricey even for steak, and was a bit of a disappointment. After a rainy day the sun evetually broke through the clouds and we wanted to take advantage of the deck area alongside the river for a drink and dessert. As requested duly settled our account and headed outside with our drinks, I popped inside for a menu to be told by front of house that because of the weather no food was being served outside, not even dessert. This was in case the rain returned and we needed to come inside and tables were not available. It was late afternoon, between sittings with many empty tables, and when settling our lunch bill I had stated we wanted to have dessert outside and was told that this would not be a problem. We were a table of 3 an our bill was about ÂŁ50per person... Overall not very hospitable, and not what we expected from our previous lunches a disappointing end to our afternoon.
