A group of 9 went for my Dad's 70th. We pre-ordered the tasting menu and they were very accomodating with our dietary requirements. We arrived early for a drink in the very cute private garden - they were lots of options including cocktails and non-alcoholic options. We sat down to dinner and had 6 wonderful courses. Everyone loved it and we were impressed with the list of where all the ingredients were from on the back of the menu. The wine flight was very well paired matching each course spectacularly. The service was super friendly and very welcoming from the beginning, they even put a candle on the sweet dessert so we could sing happy birthday. Thank you very much for looking after us! I would definitely recommend going for a visit. Very affordable for a tasting menu and a lovely, warming homely venue.

The welcome, service, food and presentation were all of the very best. We had dinner here last time and this was a lunch visit. Our friends were obliged to bring their very difficult and antisocial dog. Nothing was too much trouble with the staff. . Everything was very good indeed

We picked the Golden Fox after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. I felt the bar area was a little dark, but we were soon accommodated in the restaurant. Really good to see that the restaurant is a no dog zone. The menu is not extensive but with the daily specials there should be something for everyone. It's worth noting they do not have a children's menu but modify some of the menu items to make a child's portion. Our 11 year old Granddaughter made short work of the adult 8 oz steak! The food was very well cooked and presented and portions were generous. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices were good A great new find to add to our list of "must returns"

My husband and I ate at the Golden Fox after reading great reviews on the food, the staff and the facilities. We were not disappointed. Absolutely fantastic food. Wonderful staff and spotlessly clean facilities. The whole place had a wonderful ambiance which only enhanced the whole experience. They were also very welcoming of our dog Max.

This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The fish platter had a most interesting selection of fish and was beautifully presented . The service was most friendly and courteous. Our only negative comment was that the garden , where we ate, could have been tidied up with some more colourful bushes.

Sixpenny Brewery Ltd

Holwell Farm, Wimborne BH21 5QP, UK | N/A
P: 01725 762006

Rating: 4.9 (89) Price Level:

Just visited the Tap Room of Sixpenny Brewery and was highly impressed. Excellent real ales served in a small bar area that oozes atmosphere. There is also the possibility of having equally good pizzas from the adjacent bakery. Plenty of parking space and a large forecourt for eating outside if preferred. Add to the above a jolly and welcoming service with dogs welcome and this venue is highly recommended!

Delightful micro brewery on an old farm in the wilds of Dorset. Great beers and peaceful setting. Loads of outdoor space so no need to worry that the bar is very small. On top of all this they have a lively entertainment programme. When we went they had an open microphone afternoon with some very good musicians including the amazing Fleetwood Unchained.

Friendly atmosphere. 6d decorations of life in the 60's. Clean loos which memsab says we're heated. But, best of all were the beers ranging from dark to Ipa. There are 0% and soft drinks for the chauffeur. Loved it.

Following our White Star run around the local area we dropped in for refreshments. Really friendly and excellent real ale. When we visited there was live music which was also great. They also sell takeaway cartons which is definitely worth taking some home.

Renoufs Cheese and Wine Bar

9 West Borough, Wimborne Minster, Wimborne BH21 1LT, UK | Restaurant
P: 07473 074733

Rating: 4.8 (251) Price Level:

We went here to celebrate a birthday. We were 3 people and got the Party board. This was plenty of food for the 3 of us. We actually could not eat it all. The price was reasonable, the presentation was really good. The service was really good as well, our waitress was very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect, soft lights and wood decor. I don't really have any complaint. Also booking the table was easy and relatively fast. Well done

The food was great! The service was fantastic and friendly! You couldnā€™t beat the atmosphere! If you love cheese & wine you have gone to the right place! But if you donā€™t like wine they serve various other drinks! I would highly recommend and we will come back!

Another of my 'go to' places in and around Wimborne- if you like to chat and graze, love your wines and spirits and adore your meats and cheese, this is the place for you! The selection of wines is quite literally staggering and the staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about the meats, cheeses and wines. Not sure what you want to drink? Try a 'flight' - 3 sample glasses of wines (or spirits) to taste so you can better decide which you want- they also do desserts..... not that I've ever had enough room for one!

We came here for an evening meal out and it was lovely. This was mostly because of the very friendly attentive manager who created a lovely atmosphere for us. (We didn't catch her name but we went Wednesday 15th May evening). We unfortunately had to be moved from our table due to other customers (not Renoufs fault) and the manager gave us a free flight of port as an apology which was so lovely! The food was exceptional. We chose recommended cheese which were delicious and the meats were full of flavour. Very nice cosy atmosphere with no feeling of time pressure or anything else. Definitely will be back :)

The food was delicious, we mostly chose from the Christmas menu and it was fabulous. A great pub, run by wonderful people. Highly recommended.

Went here for works Christmas lunch yesterday. My meal was delicious, and everyone else said their options were too, and the food all came out piping hot, not easy when they were serving so many different meals. The staff were friendly and welcoming in spite of being so busy. All the food is cooked fresh.

Visited with family party of 9 ppl including 1 wheelchair user and 1 infant. Much appreciated that they were able to take our large party booking which was last minute following a family function the day before, especially in the lead up to Xmas on a Saturday. Menu was basic pub grub with plenty enough choice but good quality, hot and food was good. I had chicken curry which was lovely and others enjoyed the lasagna and fish and chips. Portions generous. Service decent and our food came in a timely enough fashion and simultaneously. There was a service charge but would say prices were pretty average and decent enough value for money. Easy to park. My father is a wheelchair user and the ramps, doorways, toilet etc worked well for him despite it being an older building with plenty of character. There were also baby change facilities in the disabled loo.Quite old fashioned decor but kind of part of the charm of a traditional English pub.

Nine of us went to the Pig for a family pre Christmas lunch yesterday (Saturday). We had pre-ordered which made things so much easier and slick; and every dish which was produced was absolutely delicious. The starters were generousā€¦.I had the brisket of beef; so, so good! Mr Husband had the trout which was carpaccio with wasabi and in a beetroot kvass. My son in law had fried Brie along with several others and those babies were melt in the mouth yum. Main courses; the belly pork was to die for. Most of us had that one! Duck was also excellent. And whilst I donā€™t always have pudding, the special was a Christmas themed bread pudding and it was fabulous. Again; a very generous portion; with a lovely crunch to the outside and buttery and sweet on the inside. All the other desserts looked equally wonderful. The staff were charming and so tolerant of all the demands of a big group of (mostly older!) people. Especially Jamie. Thank you Wimborne Pig! We will be back for sure.

We booked a table at the Wimborne Pig for our wedding anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful experience! We came with our 11-month old baby and the staff were absolutely brilliant and very helpful around her. The food was superb! The most delicious pork belly I've ever had- cooked to perfection, full of flavour and garnished with blueberry sauce. My husband had the beef burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both have allergies and I'm currently on a very restrictive gluten, dairy and egg free one. This wasn't an issue at all- the meal was adapted to cater for it. Overall a five star experience and a must try when in Wimborne!

Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen

Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen is a gem for families and the community! We thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas events for our little ones! The food is fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, with superb coffee thatā€™s hard to beat. The shop is full of organic, local produce, and the whole place has a warm, welcoming vibe. We loved the family-friendly activities like meeting the farm animals and the play area for kids. What really stands out is the amazing work they do to support adults with varying support needs, creating opportunities and a real sense of community. Itā€™s a fantastic place for great food, great coffee, and a meaningful experience!

We had a fab time here this morning. It was very wet and muddy after all the rain we've had recently but my kids loved splashing on the trail. I even enjoyed a hot coffee while they played in the play area and my 3yo was thrilled with her gluten free brownie! Fab facilities, clean toilets and baby changing area. We will be back šŸ˜€

Iā€™ve been a regular customer at Gulliverā€™s Farm Shop for quite some time, and itā€™s been wonderful to watch it grow and evolve. They offer a delightful menu featuring biodynamic food straight from their farm, and the quality of the food is outstanding, especially for the price. One of the highlights for us is that when an adult orders a meal, children's meals are just Ā£1 ā€“ a fantastic value for families! What makes Gulliver's even more special is their commitment to employing individuals with disabilities, providing meaningful support and opportunities to adults with varying needs. It feels great to support such a worthy cause while enjoying a meal. The play area is perfect for kids to run around, and the play trail is a lovely addition after a meal. I highly recommend Gulliverā€™s Farm Shop to friends and will continue to do so."

First time there in many years and we live local. A really first class lunch, I had an inch thick slice of gammon which was delicious.... I want more now! The sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was a bit naughty but NICE. With better, warmer weather the outside table area will be good. We will go back.
