We celebrated our Christmas party at Coopers at the weekend. All the staff were friendly & welcoming and food was incredible. Highly recommended lots on the menu to choose including gluten free and vegetarian options to suit all.

Awesome food, and a fab atmosphere! Came with a group of friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. Great roast dinners, and a fab selection of drinks.

You simply have to try this place. Really nice bar downstairs with loads of choice. Also live music. Upstairs the small restaurant is very informal, beautifully decorated and has some nostalgic bikes on the wall which they wouldn’t let me buy 😂 Food was first class. Everything cooked very well indeed. Wait staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and really friendly. Advised in how much to order and had detailed knowledge of dishes we chose. Great ambience and a great night. Thank you!

The staff are all friendly and welcoming and the bar is clean and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend. Elland needs more bars like this! But the bar is set very high. Stopped off for breakfast on our way home from Halifax. The lady serving was very friendly and attentive despite being extremely busy in the lead up to Christmas. The breakfast was spot on. A super start to the day & if we're ever in the area again we would definitely return. Thankyou

I have consistently found great food, and great service here.. but there is a clear "set" that 1885 wishes to appeal to. It's not ideal for kids and families. Possibly depending on the time of day and whether they have residents upstairs. On my last visit I was asked politely by the owner not to return because my toddlers disturbed the residents upstairs (we came for dinner between 5-7pm). My kids were excited/activated and they are both young/high pitched but they weren't unreasonable, in my opinion. It's a gorgeous venue, and I can't rate the servers highly enough, I have always been treated kindly and attentively, but I won't be rushing back, I wouldn't feel welcome.

We held our wedding at The 1885 on the August bank holiday and WOW what a perfect day it was. From our initial discussion through to the day after our wedding both Victoria & Matthew were absolutely fantastic. They genuinely care for their customers and wanted our day to be as amazing as we did. They were attentive throughout and nothing was too much to ask, they made us feel comfortable and confident in the run up to our day and it was all completely stress free. The staff were brilliant during our day and the food stole the show - our guests said it was like eating in a fine dining restaurant! We can't thank Matthew, Victoria and the team enough for making our day as special as we wanted and for going above and beyond.

Me and my wife Di went to the Asian Fusion tasting meal in the restaurant on Friday evening and what a delicious 5 course tasting menu it was. Matthew and Nathan produced such great flavours and each course was a delight. We will definitely be going again. What a great experience

Hosted a baby shower at The Malthouse and I was very impressed. We hired a private room, not the main function room but the small one adjacent to it due to the numbers in our party. The staff were very attentive, particularly Minarli. She was constantly making sure we we okay for drinks and comfortable. We had the afternoon tea option and there was a large selection of food which was all delicious! But there was also a bar with plenty of options. The venue itself was decorated festively for Christmas and looked so lovely - from our private room to the main bar and restaurant area. Can't recommend enough based on the experience we had. Thank you for helping make my friends baby shower so special!

Wow...I will find it difficult to put into words how amazing our overnight stay with evening meal and breakfast here was. I'm sorry I didn't take names but from the moment we entered the bar the staff were all extremely helpful and attentive. Food...it blew our minds. Great value for money, fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and so tasty. Have booked a return visit 😃.

We had a lovely time and meal here. We had a large family group and got put in the upstairs room. Food was pre ordered and very nice. Puddings were pretty small and bland but other than that all good. A lovely decorated place.

We have been here a few times over the years and it's been a bit hit and miss, small portions and a bit greasy. But when we went this time round, it was really good, don't know if they have a new chef or something but the portions are big! Really tasty too. We really enjoyed it and will be returning

This pub West Yorkshire is in my hometown, booked in for a meal and was not disappointed. To the chef it’s a ten from Len to the staff it’s ten from Len, we couldn’t ask for anything better. In fact it’s 11 out of ten the food was excellent tasty and hot. Well done all

We had a really lovely meal. The atmosphere was great, the open fire was lovely and the food was spot on. Being gluten and lactose intolerant I sometimes get anxious about eating out & worried that I’m going to be seen to be fussy. They catered for my intolerances without a worry and were really good. Thank you! Would highly recommend.

We broke down on the M62 and AA took 8 hours to reach us so this pub was a saviour for us. They welcomed us in, provided a complementary cup of tea and kept us warm, dry and satisfied. The staff were incredibly understanding and kind and the food was lovely. Placed to charge our phones, nice music and warming fires. This place completely saved our sanity and I don’t know how we would have managed without! Many thanks to all of the staff.

TLDR: Lovely, dog-friendly and homely place to drink and eat from an ever-popular Vintage Inn brand. Great food and drink and a lovely atmosphere. Away from the main roads, but next to the motorway (so you can hear the hum of that when outside) is this lovely pub! Step in and you feel like you’re in a modern Yorkshire pub. There’s decent ales, cocktails and wines on offer, lots of choice. Theres bar snacks aplenty and then there’s the main food. The layout is comprised of three main areas: Bar with ample seating, casual dining Mid restaurant near an open fire (closer to the bar, more casual) Main restaurant in the converted barn (slightly more formal, but still casual) The food is superb, especially for the price. Expect around £20-£30 a head with a simple drink (don’t be saying I didn’t get the average right when you’re buying a £10 cocktail too 😂) The Arancini is a lovely starter full of flavour, and so is the garlic button mushroom dish. The penang curry with chicken or whatever you like actually is flavoursome, fruity, and floral with the jasmine rice. Steaks are always cracking quality for the price, as is gammon and fish and chips. For desert, we’ve had brownie, crumbles, ice creams…all of them actually. The flower pot is fun and novel and very tasty too! Don’t forget to get the app and collect rewards; they are good (like £10 off food after two visits!) Hopefully you found this helpful! Ordered a 3 course meal, after waiting 20 mins between main and dessert, asked the waitress.....it gets put 'on hold' till you actually ask for it.....not a problem if you are au fait with this rule.

He immediately made us feel at home, graciously showing us to our table and even taking care of our coats with a smile. The service throughout the evening was impeccable—thoughtful, efficient, and genuinely friendly. As for the food, it was absolutely delightful—each dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. This dining experience truly exceeded our expectations.
