This is a little gem and definitely the best Thai food in Canterbury and Ashford. The restaurant was really quiet when I visited and so I can't really say it has an atmosphere, but the decor is nice, modern and tastefully done. I ordered from the lunchtime menu which is great value for money, especially as you get a starter and rice included. All in all a great place and I will definitely be going back in the very near future. I took a ⭐ off the food score because for me, it was a little too salty. Other than that it was lovely.

We took my Mum out for Mother's day. The service was second to none and the food was incredible. Full of flavours like a party in your mouth. They were really accommodating. We will definitely be back!!

What a lovely little place! Booked a table with ease most likely not required of a weekday evening which was our experience. Upon arrival greeted and seated with choice there was about half of tables occupied. Drinks menus supplied first and we chose a cocktail and beer each. Delicious cocktails and fast service. Once drinks were taken we were given food menu's and spoilt for choice. Having both been to Thailand and enjoy the variation of food we felt spoilt for choice. We chose two dishes to share one being a curry we opted for the jungle curry and a chicken because you dish with fresh vegetables. We selected a vermicelli noodle dish to accompany this as we saw it on another table being served and were not disappointed with our choices. Food potions are generous and more than enough share. We also chose tom yum soup and sweetcorn fritters which are a favourite of ours. We had no complaints about the food and loved how fresh and tender the meat was in all the dishes. Having limited options for thai and Asian food in Ashford this place is a hidden little gem out of town. It's most certainly worth a visit and we shall be back. The dishes were not overly spicy and I would say are pallet accessible for people who cannot or do not like spicy food. We spoke with the lovely waiters who were just the nicest of people with smiles and lovely communication. It's very clear that they enjoy working there. We asked if on our next visit would it be possible to request our dishes a little more spicy which they said wouldn't be a problem. We both love spicy food on occasion and recall enjoyable experiences from our visits to Thailand. I love pad preaw wan which is a sweet and sour style dish which we didn't get as I wanted to try other dishes. The Tom Yum soup was one of the nicest I've had not too spicy and full of rich flavour it's most certainly not something that's made from a packet obviously but as a traditional soup dish goes it's typically made and served in a big pot. The flavour was really enjoyable. We most certainly over ordered but we did manage to eat almost everything. Having lived in London and being spoilt for choice it's great to start seeing good authentic and great quality restaurants pop up around Ashford now. Parking wise there's a few spots outside and more a short walk away which was free. The toilets were spotless and had accessible facilities including wheelchair and parents facilities. This venue is accessible for wheelchairs and those who may have mobility issues as it's step free including in all areas of the restaurant. Service was fast and all dishes were served with warm plates. The attention to detail wasn't missed the cutlery and service ware was beautiful and very elegant. I don't typically do in-depth reviews but feel this place has given a lot of thought and deserves it. We have also tried their order and delivery service before we decided to visit the restaurant. We enjoyed it and think their dishes travelled well but you cannot beat an in-dining experience. Most certainly worth a date night, celebration or just evening out. Food price wise I would say value for money and not expensive. £10-12 a dish and fish dishes around £14-15 I was impressed with the value.

This is quite possibly one of the best pubs for food and service that I have ever been to. I was amazed not only by the quality of the food but also by how wonderful the staff were. My wife and I live in Dubai, where food and service are second to none and we were hoping for a good meal in a nice spot with a friendly welcome. Rose & Crown not only delivered that but completely exceeded our expectations. One of the best in Kent for sure 👍

Great little pub with good beer and a decent outside area for younger kids. Back has a garden bar with a limited selection but good enough. Although we haven't attended it looks like they have a few events in the summer too. With great weather you have a choice of outdoor seating in the front (with views over the field) or.the back away from the road and close to the play area. On Sunday we popped in for just a drink but the food looked great. It was busy too with many tables reserved.

Hidden down a nice country lane, the atmosphere in this pub is lovely. A couple of roaring open fires, friendly locals and staff and comfy chairs make the bar area perfect for breaking up a winter walk. The restaurant does heart Sunday lunches which were reasonably priced, but the winner was the ambience of the bar area to snuggle up for an hour

We booked a table for 2 along with our dog Milo. I have to say both me and my husband agreed that the meal was fabulous. The game pie was absolutely amazing. Alongside the food the staff were fantastic and were very accommodating especially as Milo is a giant breed and not the average dog. This is definitely a place we will revisit. So carry on doing the good work. Milo say thank you as he loved all the cuddles.

Came here because we were in the area and the local pet crem service recommended them. Staff were so friendly and chatty with the children. Food was great and reasonable prices too

Had our christmas get-together here with my family last Sunday. Absolutely brilliant. Food fantastic, staff very friendly. If I could give them 10 out of 10 I would.

Excellent 3 course Sunday lunch, great value for money and excellent quality. Been here a few times, always enjoy.

The cake was fantastic, the milkshake apparently was great but my luxury hot chocolate was cold and only a half cup under the cream which was a little disappointing. We will return, just not for hot chocolate 😊

A lovely little dog-friendly bolthole pub owned by the local community, which offers a fun atmosphere for a drink and some lovely food options, all of which are quite reasonably priced. Would highly recommend their roast dinner. They offer children’s portions too. We even got given a lovely cupcake made by one of the local shareholders. The place has a friendly community spirit to it.

Best pork belly I’ve had in a LONG time, great cracking and a solid bit of juicy meat. The venison was great too. Staff were really welcoming and families are welcome too. This is a great pub with lovely food and nice drinks. Great!

What a lovely place this is! We had their brand new roast dinner yesterday (08/09/2024) and it was the first day of their new menu and it was superb. Incredible feast like roast dinner with lots of brilliant options. Delicious. The service was second to none, couldn't do enough for us. Kind, chatty, made multiple efforts to pop over for a chat and really thoughtful too - they gave both our dogs an ice cream pot each. Cannot wait to return!!!

Lovely meal and staff yesterday afternoon. They were so polite throughout the whole service we have. My partner and I had a burgers off the Sunday menu with fries and they were so nice. The total was just under £50 but will definitely be back again to try their weekday menu. Thank you for a lovely afternoon meal yesterday ladies.

Everything about this place was welcoming and 5 star. I’ve driven past for work many times and always wanted to go. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. The food was 5 star, I had the beef roast and my partner the belly pork. Really decent Malbec too! They gave my floor a free ice cream which kept him happy while we ate. I will absolutely be back!

We called in by chance as we were passing on a walk and were delighted with what we found. Beautiful interior with log fire and tasteful seasonal decorations. Very warm welcome from landlady and staff and delicious well priced menu. Chef had made a seafood chowder that morning and we were lucky enough to have the first two portions. Puddings were unusual and delicious - Xmas pudding creme brulee was actual Xmas pudding in a creme brulee with crispy top just as it should be! Highly recommended.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Food was nicer than expected and reasonably priced. Service was on point, although it was fairly quiet when we went.

Stopped in recently for a midweek meal with my partner and dog. Very friendly team who even fussed Tia (the dog) and brought her a bowl of fresh water. She loves them! The food was fantastic!!! Atmosphere was wonderful and I left with a big smile on my face and a very full tummy. Thank you all so much for a lovely midweek date night. Can't wait to do it again!

I recently enjoyed a Christmas menu meal with some friends, and it was a wonderful experience.I was happy with the delicious vegan options on the menu and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their non vegan options. The food was cooked very well. The waitresses were attentive, cheerful, and incredibly helpful, ensuring we all felt welcome and well taken care of even with my requests of extra gravy! Each course arrived quickly at the perfect time, with no rush but a lovely flow to the evening. We all had a fantastic time.

Well Perci’s pulled it out of the bag for our friends birthday celebrations. This is our local pub, and have definitely been on a journey to get to where they are. With a new head chef in the house, the food has seen remarkable improvement. Georgio and his team always deliver service with a smile

Great selection of beers and cocktails, the menu has a sensible number of options as to cater for all and the food itself is incredible. The refurbishment of this place has been done to an amazing modern standard and is the perfect venue for dining, pub evenings and for ladies who lunch. We very much look forward to coming back again soon!

Just had an amazing stay highly recommend very friendly welcome even personally taken to our room. The room had everything you needed for a comfortable stay the welcome water and beer was a lovely touch along with a variety of complementary teas and coffee. We had a lovely meal in the pub and there was so much food which was delicious. We needed a taxi and the team sorted that for us. We missed breakfast on the Sunday morning our fault too much indulgence on Saturday evening. However we were offered sausage Sandwiches after the breakfast service had finished which was totally above and beyond great service and very rarely you find a place that would offer this exceptional service. We will definitely return as we felt very well looked after. Thank you for making us so welcome.

Where to start…? Well, the pub itself is lovely, set in a beautiful village. The staff and even the local regulars were friendly and welcoming. The service was efficient and warming. The food was exceptional. We only planned to eat once at the Red Lion as we were only on a short visit to the area however after our first meal we made sure to come back the following evening. Our second meal was as good as the first. My only regret was not being able to eat my way through the rest of the menu! Oh, nearly forgot, they are super dog friendly and our two German shepherds were made to feel just as welcome as we were.

My wife and I attended an 80th birthday party for my father in-law.The event was mainly planned by Becky.My sister in law was able to access the rooms beforehand to decorate and Becky kindly assisted which she was very grateful for. The room looked amazing but it was also the amazing service provided by herself and all the other staff at the hotel. The service was wonderful. kiera and Becky looked after us making us all feel at home.There are too many names to mention they were excellent.Thank you for making it such a special day.

A wonderful time staying here for the night. It was reasonably priced which meant the experience could go either way (good or bad) after reading the reviews I decided to book and very unusually the great reviews were right….the staff here absolutely make the place. The gentleman on checking couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The standout here however is the bar/restaurant which although pricey is outstanding….many restaurants these days promise fine dining and forget that includes the service as well. Matt in the restaurant deserves a shout out of his own, his attention to detail while serving was impeccable. Service with style. The grounds in the hotel are jaw dropping….our visit was winter with a howling gale outside (which did make the hotel feel more cosy) but during summer I’m guessing this hotel is absolutely beautiful with grounds to stroll around. Rooms are very nice if slightly dated….(that’s my only criticism) for me the rest of the hotel well and truly made up for this. Oh and the fast WiFi worked everywhere….why do so many hotels drop this now vital ball? I will stay here for business trips now too.

I have just had Sunday roast. It was so tasty and the best roast I've had in a very long time. The staff were very attentive. There was a nice buzzy atmosphere. Such a beautiful place. Well done. We will be back.

Unfortunately we only stayed for the one night. The staff were second to none, nothing was too much trouble, very chatty, excellent comfy rooms, and the food!!! Having spent many years in the catering industry, I like to think of myself of a bit of a connoisseur and I’m not easily ‘blown away’, dined at some of the best restaurants in the country and this dinner surpassed them. I really can’t remember a better meal, fine cuisine but all components were a perfect fit for the dishes and not just there to make the food sound as fancy as possible. Met the head chef and he insisted that the head chef at one of the chain’s sister hotels was even better than him! No way! Take a bow chefs at the Chilston.

After searching for somewere to go for lunch after speaking to the lady on the phone we visited this little gem so long we have searched for a proper Blt and a ploughman's and here we found it. We found somewere lovely an quiet to sit with an autistic child this makes all the difference. The food was outstanding the homemade coleslaw was amazing. Prices very resonable. Staff really friendly a lovely little pub in a quiet village 1 to visit. We will be back
